Good selection of plants. Prices fair. Michelle was the person that helped us pick out the plants. She is a peach and very kind and knowledgeable. A pleasure to talk to as well. When I picked up the plants with my 83 year old nother my experience with the staff at the time was poor. The people I ran into and spoke with were visibly annoyed and rude. They basically dumped a cart of 3 gallon plants in front of my mother and I inside and walked away. Not even asking me if they could help me load them up. I had such a great experience visiting this local nursery recently. As soon as I walked in, I was impressed by the huge selection of plants. It honestly felt like a plant lover's paradise. What really made the visit stand out, though, was how welcoming and knowledgeable the staff were. I had a few questions about which plants would do best for my yard, and they took the time to explain my options and even gave me care tips to help them thrive. On top of all that, the prices were very reasonable. For the quality of plants they offer, it felt like a great value, especially compared to the big box stores. You can really tell they take pride in what they grow and sell. I try to support small, local businesses whenever I can, and this is exactly the kind of place that makes that feel good. You're not just getting beautiful, healthy plants, you're supporting people who genuinely care about what they do and are invested in the community. I'll definitely be coming back soon (I already have my eye on a few hanging plants I didn't get this time). This place is INCREDIBLE!! I'm an avid gardener and have been to many nurseries in CT. I decided to take the 30 min drive to check this one out. This place has easily one of largest selections of shrubs, perennials, trees, herbs, and hanging pots I've seen so far. Very organized with lots of signs to help you find what you need. There are multiple greenhouses for herbs and annuals. The perennial section is very large and has labels for the different types (I.e ground cover, shade, specific plants, etc.) Every table has the first two letters of the scientific name which made it a lot easier. They have plants that other nurseries don't get in until later in the summer. Most of the perennials were $8.99; the same plants I've seen for $14-$20 at other nurseries. Many of the annuals/perennials have discounts if you buy 5-10 of them. They have a wide selection of garden decor as well (though it's a bit on the pricy side compared to the rest of the nursery). Huge hydrangea and rhodey selection. Tons of trees of all types. Fair warning that they don't have a warranty for plants that don't come back. However, when asked the woman at the desk said that they'd be willing to take it back within 30 days if you change your mind and it still looks somewhat healthy. Visiting the nursery is great--friendly, helpful, knowledgeable staff. Wide selection of plants and garden-related items at reasonable prices. But trying to deal with them on the phone will raise your blood pressure. They don't know what's in stock, so someone has to go and check. I've been on hold for up to 20 minutes. If you ask them to call you back about the availability of an item, they never do because they "got busy". In addition, the website is the most user-unfriendly I have encountered in the past fifteen years. read more

This was our 2nd time coming to Dream Garden for flowers. They have a $5 coupon in every paper and my husband I each had one. The coupon reads: One coupon per person per day. When we got to register to make our $200 purchase, we told the cashier we both had the $5 off coupon. She said: "You can only use one per visit." We were confused and said - well there are two of us on this visit. She again said we could only use one because "we were together". I stepped aside and said: "OK, now we are not together." She finally asked a gentleman who I presume was the manager. His response was a mumbled and obviously annoyed: "let it go this time." First of all - why have coupons when they obviously do not want them used. Secondly, why would you embarrass customers in front of other customers over a $5 coupon when our purchase was $200. Seems a bit ridiculous. To the cashier and manager on duty Saturday, May 21st (I've nicknamed you Mr. and Mrs. Crankenstein) - you were both very rude and we will not be coming back. I will not recommend Dream Garden any longer. read more

Great selection. If you are looking for something specific (fig and apple trees for me today and the purple greens beans) just let them know and they'll notify you when it's ready. The selection of trees,shrubs , and plants are very good. The staff did not approach either my husband or myself to offer assistance or answer questions while we were shopping . I attempted to use a coupon for $5 off a tree or shrub worth $30 or more. The shrub that we chose was priced at $29.99. The cashier, Margaret C., stated that she could not honor the coupon. She was rude and stated that she could not over-ride the computer. My husband and I will no longer be shopping at this nursery. There are many other nursery options in the area. I purchased a tree last summer, it was fine though out the remaining year, leaves changing colors and dropping off same as all my other trees did. By the time spring rolled around, I had no buds, which eventually turned into a DEAD tree, less than a year after I purchased it. Well, I kept the receipt as I do for all my tree/shrub purchases, when I went back to the Cromwell location, I did not get my money back. Lowes and Home Depot will honor your purchases up to a year, as long as you have your receipt, so why doesn't Garden's Dream. My advice, find someplace else to buy your gardening needs. read more

Great selection and found just what I was looking for and got a few things I wasn't looking for, but wanted! Great experience! The customer service was excellent. This business took over the former Millanes Nursery at this location. For years we got our Christmas tree here including one year landing a Noble Fir! Last year my husband picked out a beautiful Fraser Fir Christmas tree when I was out of town and I looked forward to going back this year to choose another. This year however it seemed everyone was getting their trees early and rumors of a Christmas tree shortage, seemed to leave stock low. A suggestion to label type of tree( Fraser, Balsam etc) would be helpful. I've also been this past summer looking for 2 specific shrubs! They had both. Excellent help and service! read more
