We live on the water, open bay. In our 3 decades of living hear, i have replaced every "Peachtree" window (Out of business) with Andersons or Castle. The Anderson is a great window but there is no one who can service them. Casement windows crank stripped out in side of 2 years. I then tried the Castle Casement 10 casements, they worked perfectly for the past 9 years! They have come out to our hosed 3 times since for minor adjustments. Terrific Service and a Transferable Lifetime Warranty. I just had Castle install 9 more windows to replace 2 Andersons and the remaining Peachtree. I'm unsure why there seem to be poor ratings, but our service was phenomenal. The representative that came to our home was Jamie, and he took his time in showing us everything about these windows. It took a little over 2 hours, but so very thorough. There were no surprises. He even worked with my senior citizen parents to ensure they got the best price for their budget. When we thought our installation date was going to be 3 months out, he made sure that we got our windows within the month we needed them. The installers were truly incredible. They are expedient to say the least. The whole process is down to a science for them. They arrive and the first thing they do is look around the house, help you if any small items need to be moved, then they place drop cloths and cover anything that could get dust on it. Once they are done removing/installing the windows they make sure everything is clean and just as it was from vacuuming to window wiping. About 7 people were working on our 15 windows, + the installation of a Bay Window. The whole process took a little over 4 hours, just as they said. There was absolutely no damage to our home, only we discovered the next day that one of our screens had a latch that wasn't working. But all I had to do was call customer service and they followed up with me immediately to schedule a technician to come out the following week and fix it. That hasn't happened yet but I don't anticipate any issues given how seamlessly everything has gone so far. I would only recommend checking those small things before they leave, but again it was a non issue to call them after. Plus they only bring the materials they need so they'd still have to schedule someone to come out after and fix it. Also, BONUS PERK! The birds don't wake me up at 3:30 in the morning anymore!! They are the bane of my (sleep) existence during the summer and I can barely hear them with the windows shut. Looking forward to those energy saving costs for our A/C and Heating, I anticipate these windows will do more than just noise control. :) Thank you castle windows for such a stress free experience. read more

All I can say is WOW. We just had a horrible experience with the salesman. He came to give us a quote. Everything was going well. He explained his company, he showed us a window example and he gave us a price. Since this is our first quote on this project we told him we wanted to get other quotes and decide which one will be best for our budget. Simple right. Well, what he did next has me wondering how long this salesman been with this company. He said he will give us a good price if we signed today. We don't know if that was a good price that's why we want other quotes so we can compare quality and pricing. Oh boy, he got up started packing his stuff. Literately saying we were calling him a liar. Stormed out of the house and a few minutes after being in his car he sped away like the car was on fire. So, he was pissed that we wanted other quotes before we made a decision. He totally acted up with his behavior. Then he says when we told him after we get more pricing we will decide "well I know you're not going call after what just happened" lol Hello you think. Then why did you act that way. Worst customer service and the window quality is poor. Besides the fact that we can feel the wind blow right through the glass of the windows, we've been struggling to lock half of the double hung windows they installed. Customer Service: Once we finally got around to calling them about the lock, Kim, the customer service rep was rude, abrupt, and unprofessional. Did not take accountability for the fact that her driver was late, did not keep me informed, I had to initiate every call, and didn't apologize once. Window Quality: The service person Kevin was nice, late, but professional. He said the issue is that we've left the windows unlocked too long, so now it's difficult to close them. The solution is to keep the windows locked so that it could be accustomed to being locked. Wish I was kidding but no lie. Windows are going to cost you whether its high quality or Castle Windows, so my recommendation for you is to err on the side of quality and stay away from castle windows. read more

I call, now they won't replace just the storm doors like we want, but they can do an interior door AND the storm doors. Buyer Beware! Castle Windows has the worst customer service. 2 1/2 months ago our windows were installed. The sashes were filthy. Putty marks , dirty handprints were all over the glass. It appeared that there was debri between the glass panes. At our request a Castle rep arrived 2 days later to evaluate the install. He agreed. "The worst he has ever seen". 1 1/2 months later the First install was replaced with supposedly corrected Sashes. 2 sashes were the wrong size. Needed to be ordered again. All the reinstalled sashes were filthy. No attempt was made to clean them. Was it still debri between the glass? No idea! Filthy handprints were all over the windows. 2 1/2 months later we are awaiting Castles' next response. They have our payment but we still do not have the windows we paid for. Buyer beware. Is this place a hub for scammers? They apparently buy your number from somewhere and call all day every day from different numbers, like other reviewers have said. When you call back it doesn't ring and someone different answers with the same script. They ask "is this *insert-random-name-here*?" to get you to say your actual name. I can't imagine how buying random numbers states away from the address listed here helps them sell windows, which makes me think they're doing something else, like running a giant scam. After filling out an online request to receive an estimate, I received a call asking for some additional information. As I thought we were about to go through scheduling a time for someone to come by, I was told that as per their policy, my wife also had to be here at the time of the estimate. Even when I said that I didn't understand why we both had to be there, the lady, who was polite, stated that's their policy. At that time, I kindly declined to schedule an estimate stating that since my wife comes home late and we have activities with our children in the evenings and weekends and that it didn't make sense to me since I was the one requesting the service. I've dealt with companies like this before who have similar policies and never have had a good experience, so I told them that I would look elsewhere to have an estimate done. Had 2 doors and 2 windows installed today. Alex and crew were here before 9-11 window I was given which was great. Slider was even better then I expected - great options to have security but enjoy the slide - it can lock with it open slightly but still feel safe. The installation of my windows went fine and are satisfactory so far. However they cut one of my screens and cut a hole in my window sill during installation. It's been over a month and they have rescheduled the repairs 4 times now for various reasons to include injuries, not having the right materials to repair it and scheduling conflicts. To date, it is still in need of repair. I expected better service from this company. read more

I am writing purely in response to their 'lifetime no service fee warranty'. Do not believe it. As soon as I noticed a leak I reported it, but they are charging me a service fee because 'I should have reported it earlier'. They are claiming 'improper maintenance'. There are no clear directions as to what they consider proper maintenance. We are not window experts and have completed window maintenance to the best of our ability. If there are specific requirements to the warranty, it should have been clearly listed. I have contacted the BBB to seek a resolution of their 'free lifetime warranty'. read more

I was told that they are anew company and that Castle Windows went out of business before 2007. I looked up Castle Windows and called the ph number for the East Berlin, CT office. Manager Tina apologized for my frustration. we never had problems with the windows but they are old now and just not staying up unless they are locked. I can't believe the deception. A few years ago, we needed new patio doors. We priced everyone and finally decided on Castle. They installed the doors quickly and professionally, showed up on time, cleaned up beautifully and left a door that works and looks great. The installation team was very professional and neat. A few weeks ago I accidentally walked into the screen and knocked it off the track and apparently damaged a wheel. When I called for a service appointment it was scheduled right away (within about a week or so.) The service technician (Brian) came right on time. He was courteous and efficient. He fixed the door in a very short time and left it working like new. Castle obviously stands behind their LIFETIME WARRANTY and knows how to keep a customer. read more

They are harrassing me at this point & I was tricked into giving out my # for a "quote" under the guise of there being these big government grants for homeowners. MY GOSH!!!! I am not alone. Just look at all the negative reviews!!!! Well, they say misery loves company; sadly I'm in the company of those who were shafted by this despicable company. I purchased windows and doors from Castle Windows because they offered a life-time warranty. BEWARE their life-time warranty is a lie! When I had my windows replaced I mistakenly paid them too much. Each time Castle has been out the installer does not take into account that a deposit was paid. I ended up paying my deposit twice the first time. I can prove this and they never recompensed me for the overage. You would think that I would have learned my lesson, but, again, a life-time warranty is pretty hard to pass up. I hired them to replace my front and screen door. The salesman told me that there was only one kind of screen door. I believed him. I learned that that was also a lie. They have many types of screen doors. I wanted a screen door that I could raise and lower the window to let in fresh air. This has broken because the clips are plastic (CHEAP FREAKIN PLASTIC!). They had someone come out who did not repair it properly; they then sent someone else out who told me it was broken and they would have it replaced. So, they sent someone today who did not replace it properly. I was told that they would not repair it, due to normal wear and tear. This would not be an issue if their door did not contain CHEAP FREAKING PLASTIC CLIPS. I encourage everyone to STAY AWAY FROM CASTLE WINDOWS. Salesman showed up for an appointment (sounds like the same nut job that Greek-P previously mentioned), immediately I sensed something was off, but I'm just trying to get an estimate for windows, so how hard can this be, right? Then he started talking way too much: 1. Attempting to tell me how much the competition spends on advertising, non-stop. 2. Attempting to tell me about the employees at his business, non-stop. 3. Asking about the age of the building, and carrying on about that. 4. Asking about the age of the windows, and carrying on about that. All of the time he's not taking window measurements and not telling me what the estimate will be. So I briefly leave him at the location, hoping that some time alone will somehow jumpstart him to do his job, and hoping that some fresh air will help me to decompress. I return, he starts talking non-stop again, so I ask about the estimate, he replies that I am not getting an estimate, so I escort him out, telling him to get back to me when he's ready to provide an estimate. I then call the main office, explain to the operator what happened, at which point I am provided with an apology and a promise that a manager will call me back. Here are some basic tips for being a salesperson: 1. Stop talking non-stop, your customers are not going to do business with you just to get you to stop harassing them with endless talking. 2. Actually perform the task you are employed to do, in this case providing an estimate, not doing so makes you a bad performer. They obviously have no sales training programs there because he broke every sales rule in the book from talking bad about competition to insulting the customer. I have had 8 windows replaced and up to this point have been pleased with the look and function of them. For the past 4 months, I have been trying to have one sash repaired/replaced. Unfortunately, the service department in the Mechanicsburg area is subpar. In November, my appointment was canceled because the technician had a "medical emergency" which turned out to be pink eye. In January, the technician came, diagnosed the problem but did not have the tools necessary to fix it. On March 21, the technician never bothered to show up. Suddenly taken ill. On March 30, I called to confirm my appointment for later that afternoon between three and five. I reminded the service department that although I own this home, I do not live there and travel two hours to get to that location. Appointment confirmed. Once again, the technician was a no show. This time, I was informed that the technician had to attend a funeral. Apparently, a last minute funeral occurred that day between my confirmation phone call at 12:30 and my appointment. Total lack of communication, extremely poor customer service and ignorance of customer expectations/needs. read more

Castle Windows are the best! Seems to be the only company that has a lifetime warranty instead of just 10 years. They will replace any window of theirs that gets broken without charge. If I could give this zero stars I would! We ordered windows from them roughly 18 years ago. There were issues at the time I was willing to overlook because my old windows were horrendous and it was nice to finally not have ice on the inside of my windows. A few years later, my younger son accidentally threw the wii remote through the window because he didn't have the strap around his wrist. They came and replaced the window. When we bought the windows we were told windows and screens would be replaced at no cost for as long as we owned the house. It didn't matter what the reason was. That was one reason we decided to go with them. A few years later we called and asked them to come replace some screens that had developed some small holes. They came, but the repair man didn't bring a ladder and was only able to replace ones on the downstairs windows he could reach. It's now about 10 years after that call and our upstairs screens are an absolute mess due to age and weather. Called and asked them to come and replace the upstairs screens. They said ok for $45 each!!! What???? What happened to lifetime replacement? Oh no that doesn't apply to you. Again, what??? After fighting with them on the phone I decided to get BBB involved. They responded to the BBB with " they recently had all 14 screens replaced" and asked the matter to be marked closed. Again, what????? They NEVER replaced my upstairs screens and recently??? Bought a new patio sliding door, their top model with a full lifetime warranty - cost over $3,000 when competitors were much cheaper but I decided the lifetime warranty and the seeming quality were worth it. After about 6 weeks, the screen frame cracked, and the screen came out of the track, and it cannot be open or closed (it's stuck in the open position"). I called for warranty service, and was told someone would get back to me. They never did. This repeated at least five times over two months, each time Castle not returning my calls. For two months I have not been able to keep this door open, because I cannot shut the screen and so the house would be open to any insect or animal that wanted in. It's now summertime and I still cannot keep this door open Castle finally called about two weeks ago in response to an email (we have called and emailed them at least 5 times as mentioned before). They said they would check inventory and see if they had a replacement or would have to order one. This was two weeks ago, and we have heard nothing back from them. We continue to call with no call-back. This is not a company I would recommend. Their "lifetime warranty" is a farce - you cannot get in touch with them, only an answering service and they do not return your calls. Their very expensive product I bought from them is now unusable after only two months, and they do not want to do anything about it. I will be pursuing further action against this company, but also wanted to provide this warning to Yelp and social media users - beware of this company. We have given them at least five or six opportunities over two months to resolve this issue, and they freely choose not to, by simply not even returning our calls. read more

I bought top of the line Castle Windows for their premium quality. I don't like vinyl windows, especially on a 1924 house but their top of the line didn't look cheap. However, even though I said that I wanted to maximize the glass pane area, to look like the wood windows that I replaced, they were ordered and installed by their people to look like cheap vinyl replacement windows. This nasty look is because they were installed inside the window stops; not measured and installed with the (nonfunctional and useless) window stops taken off. I ordered one particular window narrower than the opening size so that the result would be that my windows would be symmetrical. The salesmen wrote that up specifying how it should be installed (hard to the right of the opening). However, it was installed in the center - because that is the way it is usually done. This defeated the symmetry and even looked cheaper with all that vinyl surround. So, NO communication between the salesman and installers. When I complained twice to the company, dead silence. $20,000 order and NO corrective action. Disgusted. read more

She called me by the wrong name and I corrected her twice - and she kept using the wrong name. She then asked how many people live in this house. None of your business! "Well everyone who lives in the house and is responsible for paying needs to be present." I replied that I was the only one who would be paying. We sought a contractor to replace a few doors on our house. After contacting a handful of contractors (including Castle), we scheduled appointments to review products and service offerings. There were red flags with Castle from the very beginning. When scheduling the appointment to meet with an estimator, we were told that all homeowners had to be present for the initial meeting. When I asked why, the scheduler said "it's required as best practice by the federal trade commission". This turned out to be a lie....they want all homeowners present so that they can apply a high pressure sales tactic on the spot! They intend for you to sign the contract on the spot without getting any further quotes. Other big red flags: - Salesman showed up 45 minutes late - Salesman immediately starts complaining about having to drive 60 miles to this appointment (how is that my problem, and why is he complaining to a potential customer about this?) - I started the conversation outside of the home, as we were discussing the purchase of exterior doors; then, the salesman insisted that we go inside to talk about details. - The minute the salesman walks in the door, he asks to use my bathroom, and he was in there for 15 minutes. Seriously?! Stop at a Starbucks and use the bathroom before you arrive! I have never had a salesperson or contractor ask to use my bathroom unless they're onsite for several hours. - He then proceeds to get incredibly annoying with ridiculous sales tactics. Every time he said something related to the sale, he wrote it down in big letters on his pad of paper in front of us: "IN BUSINESS FOR XX YEARS". "LIFETIME WARRANTY". "HIGHEST QUALITY". - He intersperses these writings with simple questions to my wife and I, like...."how long are these windows warrentied?". He was clearly expecting us to reply in a chorus with "lifetime warranty". - When he finally gets around to quoting the price, he says "this price is only good for as long as I'm here". I told him that I was still expecting another quote, and he then got pissy and dropped his price another 10%. - I asked him if he could provide a written quote and he got incredibly offended, and said that he doesn't provide written quotes. With that, I told him we were done and escorted him off of my property. While I will admit that the product looked like it was of high quality, I was so put off by the pushy sales tactics and the obnoxious salesperson, that I would never buy anything from this company. I hope this company seriously reconsiders their ridiculous sales tactics and gets with the program. Customers are well informed these days, and you have to work hard to compete. read more

Good afternoon, my name is Thomas, and my family and I chose Castle to install a new front door and storm door. What drew us to Castle was the professionalism and the accountability the salesperson expressed to us. We were assured everything would be done to ensure quality, and if not, Castle would make it right. The salesperson made it very clear Castle holds themselves at a high standard. After waiting 4 months for installation, less than a month, our storm door broke from everyday open and close use. We contacted Castle to have it repaired, March 11th. It has now been 12 weeks, and we still don't have an appointment for the repair. The door breaking less than four weeks after install and twelve weeks with no repair is utterly unacceptable and the opposite of high standards and quality. After a salesperson came to my house to give me a quote on replacing my dining room picture window, I decided to go with it and gave him a sizeable deposit. This was back in the beginning of August 2021. He told me I would have to wait at least 12 weeks for delivery. My Installation was set for December 16-18 ( within those days) . When it got close to thanksgiving and I had not heard a word from anyone from this company, No Email NO Phone call No Letter in the mail NO Nothing, I got worried that I have been scammed, so I called the company's 800 number and after a few attempts i finally got ahold of an older woman who didn't seem happy that she had to answer the phone and speak to anyone for that matter, But I was pleasant and just wanted to know what was going on. She told me my windows had not arrived yet and werre not scheduled until Nov 25th 2021... I said well Laughingly thats Thanksgiving , I don't think anyone will be delivering that day. She didnt see the humor and said well then most likley by Monday the 29th. I asked her if my installation was the same date and she told me yes no changes. I asked her if she could have someone call me after the holiday so I can be assured my windows are in. She didnt seem to want to do that, ( attitude ) but said okay. I could just tell that her "okay" was just to get me off the phone. Anyway, I let it go and when I didnt get any communication what so ever I decided to call a few days before my scheduled Installation. Much to my surprise again NOTHING. I spoke to a high school student ,Justin who couldnt apologize enough and said we would have to reschedule for Middle of January , I said That's a full month away... It was not acceptable. I told him I have put off going out of state until after this installation and this isnt going to work out ..I asked what do i do to get a refund, I have waited and waited NO Communication what-so-ever.... Now i am being told to wait again... Meanwhile they have my Deposit. $$ Justin, said he will have a manager call me the very next day and see what he can do about getting a quicker installation or informing me of the proceedure for a refund.....YOU GUESSED IT NO ONE CALLED again. I called and low and behold I got someone who said he will transfer my call to the manager, he did and it rang rang rang 30 times then automatically disconnected. I called again and someone hung up on me. I decided to call from another phone number and low and behold I got Justin again. I told him no one called me, Like he said they would , again He couldnt apologize enough, he said he will have HIs Uncle Dan whos the manager will call me back .... he took my cell number down and YOU GUESSED IT _____ NO CALL BACK ___ I would like my money back. even aat this point ... We like the windows and door, but when something goes wrong with them it is a chore to get service. When they do come and look at the problem and have to order parts or new product, it takes forever. When you call to get a status on your work order it seems like starting all over again, the part or product was never ordered. They cheat, they do horrible work and have employees who don't speak English and don't care about the work they do. I had to have mine ripped out and reinstalled, and I had to demand insulation in NY?! Really?!!! Now I have expensive windows that aren't worth half the price AND I have a breeze in the winter and heat in the summer from the lousy window installation! I even bought a temperature gun and it is insane how much cold air comes in the windows - you can feel the breeze!! Absolute GARBAGE and disreputable representatives and management. STAY AWAY FROM CASTLE WINDOWS or regret your decision to use them until you can afford to pay someone else to fix the lousy work and replace the subpar windows. read more
