The portions are small but DEElicious. Dan had pork belly with pasta and I had the eggplant roulade. Very nice. Thanks Jade!

Would give them 3.5 stars. Agree with some other reviews that the view and atmosphere is nice but…read morenot worth the upsale price. We came as a larger group and they were nice enough for us to order from the breakfast menu as they switched over the lunch menu at 11:30am. Our table enjoyed the food but all agreed it wasn't worth the price point. I tried the chocolate croissant with homemade butter and maple bacon jam along with the Canadian bacon Benedict. The chocolate croissant was nice with the maple bacon jam but definitely not worth the price point of $12. The croissant was quite smaller, like the chocolate croissants you can get from Costco or Starbucks. The Canadian bacon eggs Benedict however was delicious and I really enjoyed it! I just am not sure again it was worth the high price point. However I definitely felt the service was missing. As we were the only ones in the dining area, I felt the service was missing the mark. The server saw we were carrying a baby in the restaurant but didn't ask if we wanted a high chair. My mother-in-law spied it in the corner and then we had to ask for it and we proceeded to set it up at the table. As I was with 2 young kids, I ordered some simple items before the main course like their chocolate croissant and fruit cup. I assumed the server would ask if we wanted those ahead of time but that didn't happen. He also had forgotten my son's drink order and which my son actually had to ask him after some time "where's my juice?" My older son had ordered the s'mores waffles and it looked good when it was delivered but as I cut some of it for me to try later on, I soon realized the batter was uncooked in the middle of most of them. I was thoroughly disappointed he had eaten some of it before I discovered it was uncooked. The server throughly apologized and they remade the order which in the end, we ended up taking home with us. They also didn't take the order off the check for us which normally that would happen. For such a classy restaurant, we would think they would know how to make waffles and for more top-notch service. I think next time we will just enjoy the nice views and choose to eat somewhere else when we are in the area.

So we decided that we were going to the Custom House Bar and Grill for a late lunch . We walked down to the restaurant and then downstairs to the bar area where we chose a bar-top table. The place was busy as you can also eat outside and there only appeared to be 1 waitress for the bar area and outside. Needless to say she was busy and slightly annoyed at the situation. My grandson who is 10 was a tad indecisive on his order to which the waitress rolled her eyes. Like I get the business and that she was super busy and annoyed but he's only 10. So that didn't sit well with his mother nor I. But we continued with our food orders and our drinks came out quickly. I got a glass of Moscato and it was big and an ice water. And a veggie burger with fries it was good. We didn't wait for too long and got our food which came out hot and good. No one had any complaints about the food and the waitress chilled out some probably because she knew that rolling her eyes at a 10-year-old wasn't cool busy or not. I didn't give her a decent tip to which she thanked me for and said that yes it was a crazy busy day.

It feels like a hidden locals-only joint where you can grab a glass of your fave from a thoughtfully curated list of delicious options, and settle in with your better half, besties or a group of friends and just chill. We've been to Apogee a number of times before and 'after' covid, in colder months when we've been lucky to snag a window table, and in warmer times, like tonight, when we can sit outside and enjoy the flickering fireflies along with our sparkling rosè. Besides the pleasant atmosphere, Apogee has a beautifully appointed interior space, clean bathrooms, and a menu with cheese plates, cake, and more wines than you could taste in a summer. All of that plus super knowledgable 'bar tenders' (more like wine sommeliers) who can take your possibly clumsy description of what you think you want and offer up several perfect options, and you have the makings of a very pleasant evening. Book mark this place and plan to spend at least an hour enjoying an outside table!
