Overpriced food. Overpriced coffee. Only 1 espresso shot in a large cup. I ordered breakfast sandwich for takeout but since I'm vegetarian I asked to substitute bacon for avocado. She said ok. I asked what kind of sides it comes with she said breakfast potato, salad, fries etc. so I got breakfast potatoes. when I came to pick it up my breakfast sandwich and one coffee it was 28$ because she didn't tell me that they going to charge me $5 for potato and to substitute bacon for avocado it's $3. $28 for small croissants sandwich which had no taste and was made like they didn't care how it is gonna look or taste, side salad which is a joke really and large coffee which taste like milk since it's one espresso shot.... what a disappointment. Delicious, cute and great service! First time coming to Cecile bakery for breakfast and wow was I amazed. They're taking extra precautions regarding Covid 19. All employees were wearing masks and sanitizing tables. We were greeted with some samples of mimosas and sangrias which were divine. They use freshly squeezed orange juice for their mimosa! I ordered the avocado toast which comes with feta cheese and cilantro. I added a fried egg for a little extra richness. It was super fresh, nice and crunch bread and just perfect. My fiancé and I wanted some Saturday brunch, at 12:45pm we pass by and see Cecile. Through the window we see four 4-tops unoccupied. We wanted to eat inside because it's still a 90+ degree day in Miami, so dining in the A/C is just a better experience. We asked for a table for 2 and were told "the only thing we have available is the bar." We asked about the 4 empty tables, we are told "because it's the weekend and we get busy, we save those for larger parties." The place was mostly empty and with that sort of attitude, I don't imagine it'll change any time soon. read more

Cecile Bakery & Cafe is a great new addition to South Miami. I went for a late Sunday brunch and there was no wait. The place is small but they had outdoor seating set up and they followed all current safety dining procedures. The staff was friendly and professional. The food, although it sounded very interesting when reading the menu, I was not crazy about it. First, the Huevos Ibericos were very raw to the point that the egg whites were clear. I'm not sure if this is something some people enjoy but I had to send it back for a little more cooking. I also didn't like that the string fries got so soggy I felt like I was eating vegetable noodles. However, the spicy sauce at the bottom was really good and despite the noodle fries and raw eggs this was my favorite dish. We also tried the Asian Short Rib/ Fontina Grilled Cheese. This dish was ok, but it was more of a short rib onion sandwich than a grilled cheese. I would have loved to have a really good strong cheese in this sandwich. For my sweet tooth craving, we tried the Cecile Pancakes, which was also good but did not meet my expectations. One really nice surprise was that after we paid the bill we were given these little cookies to go. I was too stuffed to try them there but I had them at home and they were incredible. Overall, I would come here again and I would recommend it. P.S. - please add some salt and pepper shakers to the tables. read more

- wait time: about 25 minutes on a saturday morning around 10. there's only one bench that sits two by the door, so you might want to make a reservation unless you want to be standing around within spitting distance of other customers on the open patio. - service: just ok. the owner comes around and asks if everything is ok a lot. the waitress was really awkward and we both felt uncomfortable because the food wasn't great but we didn't really want to go through the process of sending it back and waiting for another meal after having waited for so long already. - food: we had a ham and cheese frittata (not sure why they call it this) as an appetizer. it was a delicious little savory danish. i wish it had been warm, but i was happy with it. after looking at reviews on yelp, we decided to try the asian short rib sandwich and the eggs benedict croissant and we were both disappointed. the eggs benny was so overcooked the eggs were pretty much hardboiled. the asian short rib sandwich was really salty and not really flavorful. we finished with a canolé and two lattes which were just about as disappointing as everything else here. we really don't know why everything seems to be just cooler than room temperature considering most of what we ate is very traditionally served at least warm. - value: we ended up feeling this place was kind of overpriced for what it was. we were really excited by the vibe and hoped it would be satisfying, but i mostly felt cheated. we dropped about $90, and didn't even have drinks. we could have easily gone to yumbrella and spent that with good food and bottomless mimosas. just sayin. xoxo c read more

I would like to begin saying that I love the pastries and the food in general. I went there today, January 14th around 8:30 to get breakfast after my run. I made the line as usual and placed my order at the cashier. I asked the girl if I could sit anywhere and she said yes. When I got my order, a different server asked to get up because I was not supposed to sit there. She stated that it was for service. I asked her if I could sit outside and she said no. I explained to her that it was not the first time I had been there I that I never heard about service. I tipped them 18% for the service but I was not allowed to sit at a table. Found this hidden gem while I was looking up breakfast spots near Dadeland. I read the reviews and decided to give it a try, it was definitely worth it! Our server, Sophie was so kind and attentive. She recommended us their empanadas, their new addition to their menu. They were so delicious (came with two empanadas) one cheese and one beef. For the main plate I ordered the Eggs Benedict Croissant, they were good! I don't know if I would order them next time because I am a bit picky about how hollandaise sauces taste. My partner had the Breakfast Sandwich which looked super tasty! Of course I had to order a fresh squeeze OJ to go with my meal, it was so delicious and refreshing. I was craving breakfast and happend to pass by this cute place that I've been wanting to try. All tables inside and out where filled so they have to be doing something right! From the moment I entered I was greet and helped on how breakfast and service work so I desided to sit outside, the menu is short and simple but covers quick chic breakfast options. I got a freshly squeeze orange juice, it was watery so I asked for another one without ice to see if that was the problem, drank both (I think it isn't 100% squeeze orange juice, more of 50% squeeze orange juice and 50% water)....to eat, the 2 eggs your choice with the house potatoes (Cecile"s potatoes) that the waitress recommended and bacon. Presentation I give it a 2 out of 10, a little plate and the food was on top of another, I suggest they get bigger plates or the side options serve them in another plate so food doesn't look overwhelming. Bacon and eggs where good (you can't go wrong) however, toast was actually a piece of break on the plate, not toasted nor even warm. The Cecile's potatoes.....decévant/disappointing, greasy and literary felt like I was eating fried dough with a little powder sugar on top. Price on my breakfast wasn't bad for the area but $5 for each small orange juice, I believe is a little pricey, I would mind paying that for a big glass. The place has potential and Ive seen the owner very attentative with everyone that passes but unfortunately he needs to supervise how food is being served. read more

Very cute and quaintly decorated restaurant. The menu has your go-to brunch classics. Where it fell short for me is the lack of seasonings. $16 for an avocado toast with no seasoning (typically there's red pepper flakes, salt, pepper--SOMETHING) and a side of French fries? When asked for salt and pepper, the waitress pointed to some raggedy salt and pepper packets on the table. When asked if I could have freshly ground salt and pepper, the waitress disappeared and never came back. I also had to use packets of ketchup for my side of French fries. French fries instead of hash browns are a bit lazy for a $16 meal in my opinion. I just feel at their price point ask, I expect the highest quality of ingredients and meal accoutrements. If you dine here, just don't expect too much especially for what they're charging. read more

This was a nice find in South Miami. It's right next to Sunset Place across from the Z Gallery. I ordered the eggs Benedict croissant sandwich for breakfast and the almond croissant. One of our fave spots to have brunch at. They have light fare also and you don't feel terrible when you finish their food. Great spot.
