I decided to upgrade by original hard drive to a solid state drive and took it to GP Geek in The Village. They are right next to CVS on the parking lot side. The iMac models from 2013 onward have their screens glued on so they needed to order the adhesive kit and that took a few days. We were out of town so it worked out perfectly. They replaced my old drive with the new SSD and migrated everything from the old drive. The price was very reasonable and everything is working great. The system now is ready to go in about ten seconds from pressing the power button. This was taking several minutes before. Anything I open is now nearly instantaneous. It basically turned an eight year old machine into a brand new one! I'd definitely recommend Grosse Pointe Geek for any computer work.
