Home made tofu soup with clams. It's quite good. Sea salt on heavier side but tofu is well done.

The only Chinese restaurant on the marine drive strip and it's reminiscent of China Chinese food. Not Cantonese style. Name of restaurant could be more creative than using CCTV which is the main Chinese network channel. China Canada Tsingtao Vancouver whaaaaat?

The major negative of this restaurant is the name. CCTV means a lot to the owner, but is very confusing if you don't know the back story. Many passed by without considering coming in. Shared the pork dumplings which were delicious. The cashew chicken was tasty, but bland and skimpy on the cashews. Just needed a tasty punch of something. There were no condiments on the table, including salt or pepper. My friend had a spicy pork dish and said it was good. The wine was on the cheaper side at $6 a glass. Great view (except the construction fence)

Beef and broccoli was very good. Chicken fried noodles and ma po tofu was not very tasty. Not sure I'd go back.

We came to celebrate my mom's birthday. It was okay, but doesn't exceed my expectation. The service was good.

Dropped in here for lunch…read more The decor was clean and modern, but there was some packaging lying around on the front tables. I ordered the cucumber salad and seafood fried rice with XO sauce, as well as tea. The tea came first, with a very nice Western style porcelaib pot and cup and saucer. Elegant! The cucumber salad had an interesting dressing, slightly sweet, but with a healthy amount of garlic. Somehow, for me, it worked. The cucumber was very fresh and served as a nice neutral base to build the flavors on. I was warned when I ordered the fried rice that it was spicy. Well, it was slightly tingly, but nothing major for my tastes. The rice was soft and loose and flavourful. Surprised by what looked like short grain rice. The rice came with some kind of whitefish, shrimp, and scallops. Also very finely diced red and green peppers, carrots, and onions. It was very flavorful, the seafood was very fresh and perfectly cooked, and tasty without being salty. I got a refill of hot water for my tea without asking, which was very appreciated. Price for one person was a bit high, but portions were large enough for sharing between two, and compared to other prices on the White Rock Beach, this wasn't too bad. A good spot for some good Chinese good!

The location across from the beach was enjoyable and relaxing. The only thing keeping me from give five star was the lack of servers.. only one person was doing mostly anything.. so the service was very slow.. but still way worth the wait.

Three strikes against this place. The bad health department report is a serious initial concern. No…read moresurprise though as this restaurant had other significant deficiencies that make it not good for the customer. Went in on a cold day and it was absolutely freezing, or at least felt that way. One other customer was dining bundled up in a winter coat. Ridiculous. They must be trying to save money to not run the heat. Sooooo cheap and a miserable way to treat customers. They also are cheap using cheap dark meat chicken thigh in most chicken dishes like sesame chicken. The experience sucked, and I did not want any more bad surprises, so I left and went somewhere else. If you're looking for a good Chinese meal, you may want to look somewhere else. Pass. Maybe if enough of these poor quality restaurants in this area run themselves out of business, something better can come later.

The restaurant itself is…read moreplain and basic; I think the red checkered table covering deterred my husband and I from trying it out earlier since we frequently walked by the restaurant. We normally drive out to Richmond to have Chinese food; we were both pleasantly surprised with the quality of the meal. We had a couple of the warm appetizers and a Seafood with silken tofu Hot Pot. The appys were fine; the hot pot was delicious with a nice variety of seafood including fish slices, squid and prawns. The silken tofu was lightly deep fried giving it a nice textured skin, the tofu remained silky and tasty. Best of all, it came to the table piping hot. The seasoning was perfect and not overly salty as most Chinese restaurants. The service was friendly and attentive; we spoke to the owner briefly; she is very proud of her little eatery. We plan to return soon to try the lamb dish with cumin the next table obviously enjoyed and other traditional Shanghainese dishes!
