Friends, this place is proof that compromise can be beautiful. Sweet meets spicy meets (meats?) savory. Every bite felt like someone dared a pitmaster and a pastry chef to create the ultimate brunch, and somehow they pulled it off. The only drawback? Ventilation. It's stuffy inside. Plan on smelling like a smoky glazed donut the rest of the day. PS. If anyone wants to bring this concept to KC, I'd like to be considered an early investor. The ones we wanted came with gravy and the staff let us know they were behind on making it. So we pivoted and tried their prime rib smash burger but unfortunately that felt a little disappointing. For the price that it was, you'd think that you'd get a decently portioned burger or some sides with it but it was super tiny. And the bun felt like grocery bread, the type you can get for a home bbq. It was still delicious but rather disappointing at the same time. We ended up having to order a third dish just to feel satisfied and at least it was very good. The bowls are worth it, maybe not the burger but the bowls for sure! I also snagged up a donut and truthfully that is one of the best donuts I've ever had. Another downside to this spot and why I didn't give it a 4 star is because how slow the service was. We watched a whole family get up and leave because it was taking so long, I actually felt bad for the staff and owner. The place has great tasting food, just needs a little shaping up. Again, soft opening so understandable, but delays were caused by how they implemented their ticketing system. The Rundown: You're paying for name, not necessarily a quality experience here…read more The Review: I'd never been here before, and it was rather hyped up before attending so I was looking forward to the experience. Initial impression from outside: Nice, I was surprised to find a golf course/(can you call it country?) club in the city! Once stepping inside however, it was very apparent that there was a general lack of attention to detail which I found odd. On the main screen the event going on is displayed and then you find yourself greeted by: a damaged sign advertising their Instagram. At a place that costs this much I'm really not sure how this is positive advertising? Took away from the initial experience. During the catering service the food was quite good, not anything that gave a memorable culinary experience and I'd say above average for catering but wasn't anything I would rave about. The odd part was the staff was almost TOO attentive. You'd turn around and anything at your spot belonging to the facility was removed. Did you go up to get more food? You'd return to find all the utensils gone. Eating and paused for a moment? If not, you'd likely turn and find an arm pop around you to remove your plate and any utensil around. It left a sense of feeling rushed and inconvenienced as there were no utensils clearly visible. You'd have to ask the staff who would direct you to utensils on a black tablecloth covered by a black napkin where there were a total of three sets. They were never refilled throughout the service so the running joke became asking your neighbor to guard your utensils and napkins if you'd step away otherwise risk eating with your hands. Also one of the staff you could always tell when she returned from a smoke break which was disappointing. But at least you knew a server was nearby when the odor of smoke came around and know your items might disappear if you weren't holding on to them? Overall, for the price you're paying keep in mind it's strictly for the name. The experience was subpar and I've been to better events where people spent less. This one felt very transactional - and not in a positive way.
