I reached out to three local plumbers via Yelp and Ben from Ace Plumbing was the quickest to respond. He said he could come out the following day, which I was happy about since I hate wasting water unnecessarily and having the HOA on me. The next day Ben touched base with me and arrived slightly ahead of schedule. He was extremely thorough in going over what I knew little about. He took his time to see if he could remedy the situation without replacing an entire portion of back-flow piping. Unfortunately it was faulty so he quickly purchased the piece, replaced it and was on his way. I was very pleased with him and his service--hence sharing a stellar 5-star review. I'll be sure to keep his contact information in case I have any other plumbing needs down the road.

When we had a clogged drain he was able to come out quickly. Most plumbers just want to snake the toilet or the shower. He asked about clean outs, and we thought we only had one on the inside of a closet, but he went exploring outside and found one that had been filled in with concrete when the driveway had been repaved years ago. He actually chipped it out and discovered we had really good access. He used high pressure to clear any blockage, and gave us a bunch of feedback based on what he did and did not see and hear. He even told us our pipes looked good, and showed us how we could do this ourselves in the future if we had a blockage since it was so easy with our set up. I really appreciated that he took a few minutes to assess everything rather than just run a snake down the drain. I got the sense he really understood what he was doing, and really looked for the best solution. It was also great to have him take the time to show us what we could do next time so we wouldn't need to call him, though given our experience I would be happy to use him again!

I had been seeking a solution to speed up my hot water access in the far reaches of my home (most importantly master bathroom and kitchen). After years of wasting gallons of indispensable water and electric in drought-ridden California every time I hopped in the shower or washed dishes, I knew I had to get to the bottom of it. Not to mention that it was driving me nuts hanging out on my "honey to do" list... I reached out on NextDoor to see if other neighbors had the same issue. Sure enough, I wasn't alone! I found Riviera Plumbing on various sites with stellar reviews/recommendations and submitted a complimentary service request via their website to assess my situation. Within two hours I received a call from a plumber with availability to come by the next day! Meanwhile, I also had two other local plumbers in the running (one no-showed, while the other's estimate was too high). Cuyler arrived at my house on time the following day, looked at my hot water heater, discussed a few solutions with me, and promised me an estimate within 48 hours. Fast forward a week... Cuyler behind the scenes had to reach out to the odd manufacturer instant water heater company (Rheem), purchase the specific compatible parts and pump (which were on backorder due to national supply chain issues), and was at my home for installation day. What I particularly appreciated about Cuyler is that he is the son of a plumber and several family members with stellar skills and experience in the trade. At the same time, he has a great personality, is proficient, honest, and most of all, a perfectionist. He taught me all about how the system functions and worked diligently to confirm that everything was working smoothly--including that the pump doesn't overheat with use. Cuyler was cautious given Covid by wearing a mask and shoe covers inside my home without needing to mention it. He kept his work area neat and put back the items under my master bedroom sink exactly how they were before his arrival. All of these details made it easy to write this 5-star review for Cuyler and Riviera Plumbing. When looking for a plumber, I know who I will use and refer to others.
