Mark is awesome...he came here for a flooring issue and ended up showing me how to handle the irrigation, program the sprinklers, handle the vents, what type of sealant is the best for the grout and sinks as well as seasonal maintenance. We moved into our new home a month ago and we noticed our tree that was planted in our front yard did not look very healthy. We tried some xtra watering and tree food all to no change in its condition. We called and they put in a work order to the landscaper. We really appreciated their quick response to our concern. This was the second new house we've built. Our experience was pretty good for the most part, some hiccups but nothing ever goes as planned when you're building. Megan was amazing and so was Karissa. The people at the design studio could use some retraining on customer service, and the landscape company CBH used was not someone I would have chosen- they did fix our back yard. We drove to Idaho and met with my twin sister who was in Idaho on business. She had been looking at CBH Homes and wanted to show us houses after she had met Teschia Tucakovic. After trying to look at a house, with no relator, we drove to meet Teschia. We told her what we were looking for and after looking at one house she suggested a house in a brand new development. Well, we fell in love with the house, the lot, and the area. Teschia made it so easy for us because we lived in California and needed to sign documents, arrange a walk-thru, etc.. We've been here since October 31st and have nothing but praise for CBH Homes and its staff. read more

15 months with our house and it just feels like a money pit. CBH put the smallest concrete pad in our back yard. So we paid to get it extended 15 more feet, which then resulted in us needing to fix the POS gutters that CBH just puts along the house over the 10 foot pad. So we paid to get gutters along the entire back roof of the house, along the back of our 3rd car garage that had no gutters at all and along the 2nd story roof that also had no gutters. It seems like CBH just does the minimum with everything. Now what a surprise we dont have flooding issues when it rains hard. read more

I have been dealing with this company for years, and not in a good way. These people are the lowest of low. They make crap homes that are rushed and poor quality. Their office staff is rude and dismissive when you call with concerns. Their construction teams are disrespectful, careless, loud, and a disaster. I've never been so frustrated in my entire life!! There is construction garbage all over my neighborhood, next to their new builds. One of my neighbors saw a truck driving through our neighborhood with garbage flying out the back all over our street. l've called their offices and they didn't even know which subdivision I was talking about because they've so far overstretched their company. I have been into the tire shop twice in the last month from metal pieces and nails in my tires that they throw around and track through our subdivision, as have several of my neighbors. If my tire gets 1 more hole, I have to get a new tire. We've repeatedly asked them not to use our subdivision as a construction entrance due to their carelessness, but they refuse. Their contractors drive like maniacs through our subdivision with lots of children who have almost been hit multiple times. We live next to an elementary school and their workers park on the sidewalk, and leave garbage everywhere, making the kids walk in the street during the heaviest traffic times. I am so fed up. When they build houses their studs are unevenly spaced, wiring is screwed up, our shower wasn't properly plumbed and leaked through the closet and floor, none of our windows are straight, they build up the dirt before they build so everything sinks and all the concrete cracks. Plus every house on my street has bad siding, and CBH won't do a single thing about it. My list is never ending because this company is such a train wreck. And if you are thinking of buying a home in the city of Meridian with any space around you, JUST DON'T, because this city council is determined to fill in every single "empty" space and apparently Corey Barton is their best friend. The space behind us was 5 acres and they are putting in 23 houses. They will come in and this will be your story too. AVOID AT ALL COSTS! read more

We had a November completion date with December kinda thrown out as a possible completion date if weather was problematic (weather was never problematic). What we saw, were empty lots that were started after us completed before us so CBH could try and sell them, all the while stalling prospective owners based on contractual obligations. Then when we received a final walk thru date of December 7th we asked for a pre inspection. They responded if we wanted a pre inspection we couldn't move in until December 27th. Really? Move my family on Christmas week? 3 weeks to correct items on a new home? It was the last straw. We ended up canceling with CBH and walking away. It was worth losing $3500.00 dollars to not support or do business with this company. They DO NOT CARE about their clients. They are cashing in right now due to market, but their reputation proceeds them. When the market slows, which it always does, it will undoubtedly hurt them as their poor treatment of clients will not be forgotten. Its disappointing as we were financially and emotionally invested, but in the end walking away was the best decision. read more

We purchased our home brand new. CBH has skated around several of our warranty claims. Now, conveniently after the home warranty expired, two years later our water heater keeps leaking and flooding our garage. Not only is CBH not offering to pick up the service call by the vendor they hired to install it, but the vendor, Shiloh Plumbing, is insisting I agree ahead of time to pay $125 for them just to look at it and states there would be no warranty for parts. No water heater should be leaking after only two years of use. Yet another mark against cbh and it shoddy home building. read more

Be aware! We entered into contract with CBH for a new home in Boise Idaho. This was going to be an 8 month process, we of course had a loan approval when we started the transaction. 2-3 months into the process (home had not began building yet) I had an employment change (not by choice) and could no longer qualify to purchase the home. I contacted their offices to let them know and they very abruptly told me that I would not get my deposit back ($3500) and that it was my fault for changing jobs. When I explained to them that this was not by choice and that my contract clearly states that the deposit is still refundable "subject to underwriting approval and appraisal" they did not respond. It was a very disappointing experience and we are now to the point of hiring an Attorney to fight for our money that we as a family need very much. read more

We were looking to move to Idaho and our realtor suggested CBH for a new home over some of the other builders. The process of buying a home through CBH has been very straightforward and we were really happy about the final price we got on our home. Moving into our home we've found it to be pretty nice. We've only been in the house for a week or so but we haven't had any major issues with it. The appliances work as expected, the exterior finishes are very nice (interior-wise we may eventually upgrade the counters in the kitchen but they are fine for now) and with the exception of balancing the heating throughout the house - we think everything is great. The community looks nice and we're satisfied with our purchase. If you don't want to haggle and get into a bidding war over a good home in Idaho, CBH is the way to go. read more

Agents be aware the CBH home Orientation it is not a friendly one. The orientation crew walks fast through the home as they are providing important information to your Buyers and do not want to be interrupted, to distract you from looking or finding items wrong with the home. I was asked to stay with the crew and listen. I found some items that required repairs and the heavier man doing the repairs argued and yelled at me several times and tried to tell me the Buyer was not asking, I interrupted the inspection to show the Buyer and yes the Buyer asked for it to be repaired and painted. It was very frustrating this was not a walk through it turned into a meeting and not a final walk through. The agents Jordan and others are very pleasant and helpful until you get to the home orientation. My next Buyers will be aware ahead of time to request to do a final walk through before or after the talking session. read more

I want to start off by saying that there is nothing wrong with our home itself, which we tremendously enjoy. We have had a horrendous experience with the transaction to purchase this home that can only be explained by gross incompetence or total apathy; possibly both. Here's what happened. Title Company CBH required us to use a Fidelity National Title and a specific title agent at that company, whose name I have removed because I'm trying to be nice. This title agent did the following: 1) Made numerous errors that resulted in overcharging us by more than $1,700. Luckily, my loan person caught these errors. 2) Didn't review final numbers until the night before signing, found some differences, and ended up having to resubmit all our information and delaying our signing from Thursday, November 14th to Friday, November 15th. 3) DID NOT SHOW UP TO OUR SIGNING. After waiting for forty-five minutes, the title company had another agent step in to take us through signing. 4) DID NOT REQUEST THE FUNDS FROM THE LENDER, meaning that we couldn't close on the house. We had utility appointments and a moving truck scheduled, I had taken off of work and waited practically all day before finding out that the title company hadn't done their job and we couldn't get the keys to our house until Monday, November 18th. The title company compensated us by paying for a moving company to move us on Monday, which was nice because I ended up getting a kidney stone on Monday morning. Appliances When we purchased the home, we took advantage of promotion worth $10,000. With it, we purchased window treatments, a washer and dryer, and a fridge from CBH. The rest of the money was contributed to our closing costs. The window treatments were installed before we finally closed on the home on Monday, November 18th. They are cordless and look great. The washer and dryer were delivered and installed on Wednesday (two days after closing and moving in). They did a great job, and we love the appliances. The refrigerator. We were initially told that we could expect the refrigerator to be delivered on Friday, November 15th or Monday, November 18th (the day we ended up closing). When closing was delayed, the refrigerator delivery was delayed as well, understandably. Our real estate agent HOUNDED CBH trying to figure out when our refrigerator would be delivered, to no avail. Our agent was told that it couldn't be expedited and was reminded that our contract stated the fridge would be delivered 5 - 7 business days after closing. I reached out to Brogan McFadden, our Sales Specialist at CBH, on Thursday, November 21st (three days after closing) to ask when we should expect to get our fridge. She said that she would look into it. On Friday, November 22nd (four days after closing), she told me that she would have an update for me on Saturday, November 23rd, (which would be five days after closing). I expressed my frustration with the process thus far and asked if CBH would just give us the money back so we could go buy a fridge ourselves. Brogan called to remind me that our contract states they have 5 to 7 business days to deliver the fridge, meaning that Wednesday, November 27th would be the deadline. Later, Brogan emailed me to say, and I quote "I just heard from my team and they were able to get ahold of the appliance company. Looks like you will be received the fridge early next week." On Monday, November 25th, around 4pm I received a call from Will at CBH saying that they did not have the refrigerator that we had purchased, and they wouldn't have it until after the holidays. What a shocker. He proposed that they put a different refrigerator in our garage as a loan until they could find the fridge we had purchased. I was not happy with this and asked again if we could get our money back so that we could go out and buy a fridge ourselves. Will said he would get back to us. My wife called CBH again and expressed her frustration, saying that if our fridge was out of stock then they should give us one of equal or greater value by Wednesday, November 27th, since they are contractually obligated to deliver our fridge by Wednesday. We received another call from CBH on Monday, November 25th at 5:30p saying that our information had been transferred to the correct department. When we asked if we could have the name and number of who we needed to speak to, we were denied. We are extremely frustrated. Thanksgiving is Thursday, November 28th and we have family coming from out of state to stay with us. Even in the worse case scenario, we were told that we would have a refrigerator by Wednesday, November 27th, and CBH still can't get it done. We have asked time and time again for estimates, we have proposed other solutions and hear nothing back. We have been in our home now for seven days and still cannot buy perishable goods. This is outrageous and unreasonable. read more

I would like to commend CBH on their quick response to our warranty claims. Not only did they get our problem fixed quickly, but the repair person (Mark) that they sent out was phenomenal! Not only did he fix our problem, but he also went through the house and showed us ways to improve our energy efficiency (which is already amazing) but he identified an area in our garage that could allow fumes to enter the home and showed us what to do to resolve the issue. We have only had minor issues with our home since we moved in, which is to be expected on any new build, and CBH has been quick to resolve them for us above and beyond our expectations! We are out-of-state buyers who purchased a new CBH home in Caldwell, ID in April 2022, Although we did have a buyer's Realtor to represent us in the transaction, we found all of our direct interactions with CBH , both pre-sale and post-sale, to be first-rate. This is not the only builder we have bought a new home from, but it is definitely the most responsive and customer-service-oriented one. Troy drove by the property before the close to take some photos and email them to us because we had some questions about rain gutter placement...this was on his own time. Jonathon conducted the final walk-through with us and answered all our questions. And Alexis, who was CBH's sales representative, met with us post-close to sort out several issues (not complaints) we needed clarification on. This company has left me and many neighbors out to dry with chronic issues of poor drainage between lot lines blaming the issue on poor watering schedules between neighboring lots-NOT TRUE!!! CBH is passing the buck by not addressing these chronic drainage issues (I am part of an on-line neighborhood communication called 'Next Door' ) and the complaints on poor drainage between lots from MULTIPLE CBH neighborhoods throughout he valley is unacceptable! I had to pay $1,500 out of pocket to have a landscaper tell me the lot was improperly sloped and the top soil was crap thus, my poor drainage issue (killing grass-standing water) I am hearing from other neighbors that water has been draining into their crawl space. I tried contacting the city of Eagle and they said the builder is responsible for the 'swail' of drainage. BUYER BEWARE!!!!! read more

Then I get yelled at by the HoA. *MY* solution was for Corey to come HIM (the CB in CBH homes) and mess with my sprinklers so now my grass that was just installed is dead (went on a trip came back to dead grass) Dana (my contact point) says sorry he's the boss this is how he does things. How he does things is ignores all the pictures that Dana took, and says "we'll wait and see" when my home warranty is up next month. How is killing my grass going to fix the problem that I pointed out during the home walk-through but I was lied to, "your neighbors are over-watering, it won't be a problem" $1,500 dollars in flooded fruit trees later proves it IS still a problem, that they "Fixed" by turning off my sprinklers and killing my grass. NEVER EVER EVER EVER buy a CBH home. Extremely poor and cheap quality and if I would have known what was meant by "entry level builder," I would have never have purchased one. Cheap finishes and they nickel and dime you for the most basic upgrades which are customary in other manufactures. I just opened a complaint with the Better Business Bureau on a major drainage issue in our backyard due to the poor soil and sloped yard we were left to work with, that CBH doesn't want to take responsibility for. I am going to have to rip out my entire backyard (which I installed less than a year after I took ownership of the home, and have to install an extremely expensive drain, into the thousands. They are trying to blame the actual sprinklers for the issue, however it's not an issue since three other neighbors have experienced the same issue. Avoid CBH. Worst EVER. read more

Toured 30+ homes to find bowing walls, crooked window frames in almost every home. We kept trying to convince ourselves it would work because they are the only homes available. The homes are severely overpriced for what you are getting. It is sad to see them so prevalent in the Boise area and I wish city planners would take the time to think about the people living here. Other builders are having a hard time competing with the Corey Barton giant for buildable land, turning parts of Boise suburbs into cheap trash.
