This place is delicious! This was my first time visiting Massachusetts and it was literally right down the road from my Airbnb. I really lucked out. Stayed 3 nights and went here twice. Obviously these kids that work there can not handle busy hours!!! I had sundaes delivered by grub hub and the poor driver was waiting for 20minutes to pick up our order......When I called the girl tells me there backed up!! Ok and......They need to get out the delivery orders first due to the drivers waiting also the customers!!! We finally received our order and both sundaes were made wrong!!! In the note section I wrote out exactly what I wanted in my sundae.....I wanted marshmallow they gave me whip cream....I wanted walnuts I got no walnuts.....My daughter ordered a medium sundae, what a joke that was... One scoop of ice cream along with a side of hot fudge (very cheap). I called and complained the girl sounded like a complete idiot!!! Maybe they need to hire more people or maybe they need to hire people older then teenagers, because they have no idea what there doing!!! This is by far the best dessert shop in the area. Everything from baked goods, Italian ice, soft serve, ice cream, candy-- it's all here. Way better than chilly cow or the fro-yo joints nearby. Prices and service are also better here. Outdoor seating available. read more

Although I like the quality of ice cream at CB Scoops, it is rather hit or miss on the quantity. Depending on who scoops your ice cream, a medium can be between a small and a large. Last night I got a medium cup for my husband, and it was the right size, but there have been many times that its tiny. We tend to scope out who is working before deciding whether to trek to Colleen's instead. Also, the soft-serve is sub-par on any day except for Tuesdays, as some of the girls put twist mistakes back in the chocolate, watering it down with vanilla. read more

As repeated numerous times - CB Scoops IS a quaint LITTLE place, but boy the customer service there is fan-tastic (I will agree the stress of the justifiably, excited weekend crowd does seem to stress out the staff; those I've seen, do give off notable signs of being more 'job/life loving' when the crowd is more at ease.) What a flashback type of environment the store gives off. CB not only sells a vast variety of rich, smooth, locally made ice cream, there are also actual food items to choose from. No excuse not to bring the littles out for a treat and still leave without guilt; order a soup or another of the none sugar based items to enjoy while they sit just off to the side, near the counter, at the child sized table, enjoying their treat and you enjoy the sweet surroundings. Not many options for Sugar-free 'dessert based selections, but so many many options it is not as if there was nothing to choose from! Very welcoming place... a weekday is best for me. read more

This place is excellent. They have many varieties of slush and ice cream, plus soft serve if that is your calling! (I recommend the vanilla and chocolate swirl, that is delicious!) The workers are fast and friendly, plus the business is very clean! The only downside of CB Scoops is that the place is very small. There are only a few tables inside, with two tables outside. If they were to ever renovate, maybe more tables? Aside from that, CB Scoops is truly a great place! read more

Poor service and business practice. Heard good things so decided to swing by to enjoy some richardsons ice cream on my dog walk. I ordered my usual moose tracks frappe with skim milk. The girl serving me said they're out of skim milk and have whole milk which is strange since they use richardsons milk, the very same milk that they sell. Turns out the whole milk is almost out and the next gallon of milk is skim but they can't offer the skim milk until the whole is done?! What on earth?! Never have I been to a place and they withhold milk. This is a place of business not your neighbors fridge that you're raiding! After some discussion, the server had the nerve to offer mixing the whole milk with skim bc there wasn't even enough whole to make my order. I walked out but my girlfriend was dead set on getting her richardsons fix. So she went in and spoke with the server who said it's just policy to only use one milk. Apparently it took a call to the owner to get the skim milk opened. In the end, we got our ice cream fix but will never go back to this place again. I'll drive the 12 miles north to richardsons reading where the ice cream is just as delicious without the hassle. read more

All time favorite. I love coming here for the Phantomberry ice cream which is usually on the rotating seasonal menu. The service is excellent and the CB Twisters are amazing too. I love walking here and eating outside. They take credit cards and you can get ice cream by the pint or quart too. This is our go to place for ice cream in Medford. They have ice cream, slush, coffee and light food. Service is always prompt and friendly and the owners are very supportive of Medford initiatives. Stop by and support a vibrant local business that contributes to the community. My personal favorite is moose tracks, pb cup with hot fudge and whipped cream. My son loves he root beer slush. First time there: One customer being helped, and I was waiting. The other staff person was busy doing some kind of pasty thing (looked like it was for a friend). This staff person appeared to not give a crap about the line (someone else came in after me) and I waited more than ten minutes to order. What kind of shop allows customers to wait so they can do an order that is certainly to be picked up later. (makes no sense). My sister and brother both enjoyed the brownie ice cream... although the brownie instead of being cut up into pieces was all the way at the bottom. I wish the owners had been there... I can't imagine that they would have allowed the staff to operate in this manner. And as for the employee doing all the work... speak up and tell your coworker that serving customers is a priority. read more

Went there today to get some ice cream cupcakes and had a group on. I did not see the fine print where I had to call in till when I had to pay. I did not mind the server pointing it out, but the fact that she applied that I wasn't a customer and now my future customers that will come later today won't get the ice cream cupcakes. I have visited this shop numerous times. The people that work in the shop make you feel comfortable and welcome whenever you walk in the store. Each customer is definately appreciated. You know they want you to come back. With it's inviting decorations and friendly workers I will go back and back again. The Richardson's ice cream is fairly priced and delicious. This winter they started to sell soups and sandwichs. Simple menu, but nice addition for the cold months. I decided to try soup and sandwich one cold day. It was great! Money is tight now a days, and time is short. If I have the time to spend, I want to go somewhere that provides a good product, is very clean and inviting. This is my vote in medford for ice cream or a quick lunch. read more

This place is awesome. The employees are incredibly friendly and you can tell they work hard--more than that, they know what they're doing! This is much more than I could ever say about the people who work at Colleen's; they can be very rude. The store is always immaculate, and the employees are constantly wiping the tables, counter, and on more than once occasion, I've seen them mop sticky spots off of the floor. Perhaps more importantly, you can see that even the area behind the counter is almost always immaculate. In a business that deals with food (especially dairy,) cleanliness is especially important to me. The flavor selection is great and I really enjoy how the flavors switch up every now and then; the owners seem to know the importance of variety. I really love the fact that you can get softserve ice cream here too, because that can be hard to come by around here. Also, if you haven't tried one of the chocolate chip cookies on the front counter, you NEED to. From what I've heard (and even seen) the owner makes these cookies and boy, does she do a wonderful job! They are simply fantastic and always fresh. They're very fairly priced too! Its actually a bad thing though, because every time I come in I feel compelled to buy them! The only con I have with this place is something that really is not the fault of the store--the teenagers. At night time (particularly in the summer) hoards of young teens gather outside the front door. However, I have seen managers go out and speak to the kids before, so it is not as if the employees are standing idly by. Whether or not the kids listen and move away from the door is a different story. In all though, I must say the whole situation is dealt with in a very professional way. I have nothing but love for this store. The owners really love what they do, that much is evident throughout the store. From their employees down to the decorations in the store, you can tell that everything has been given a good deal of thought and consideration. read more

Very close to my home, cute place, not just ice cream but other things just thrown in together like desserts, (that look like they've been sitting there a while), slush, candy, and Richardsons milk by the gallon. They have a larger selection of ice cream a few of frozen yogurt, but plenty of toppings. My gripe is that it's very expensive for a little hole in the wall and the amount that you get, cash only, and the people that work there are kids! I remember my first job at a similar place but I was attentive. THe few times we've gone in, there were a few teenage girls, yapping about Twilight and OMG, anything else other than helping us. And it took forever for a few scoops of IC. The tables were dirty, I asked for a towel and one girl claimed she would clean it, but was helping someone else at the time, I asked for it again since I knew it would be a while but she insisted, so we had eaten half of our IC while we waited. We haven't back since. I rather drive somewhere else or get some from the ice cream truck. read more
