I am writing to express my profound disappointment with the services provided by Cavalier Moving. Despite their positive reviews, my experience was far from it and I feel the need to inform others of what I believe to be an untrustworthy company. I was confidently quoted two hours for the job. I have arranged moves for the same amount of items in the past without it ever taking more than that, and their hourly rate seemed reasonable enough, so I moved forward with them. Needless to say I was shocked when the move ended up taking five hours. Five. This more than doubled my initial quote, resulting in a final cost of over a thousand dollars to move a packed and ready one-bedroom apartment with a bare bones office. Additionally, the $150 travel fee for a move of just 4 miles is exorbitant. I am struggling to understand why such a short distance would incur such a high charge. When the movers arrived, they seemed confused about the details of the move, asking me many questions that I had already addressed during my initial booking. This lack of communication and preparation was a little alarming. The inefficiency was further highlighted by the fact that items were dropped, and at one point, items were scattered in the street. The two movers themselves were really kind and I'd like to imagine they were doing their best. They seemed a little annoyed throughout the process, but hey, moving sucks. I don't fault them at all, especially if management is orchestrating that they take as long as possible to draw out that hourly rate. I chose Cavalier Moving over other companies that offered lower quotes due to their overwhelmingly positive reviews. Consequently, I am both shocked and frustrated by the service I received. I feel as though I have been misled and taken advantage of and I sincerely regret putting my trust in them as a company. It really is disappointing, especially because after my initial quote, I did recommend them to a friend, I now entirely regret that and I will be advising them to seek other options. I highly recommend Cavalier moving for your next home move. The administrative and scheduling team are easy to communicate with, quick to respond, and worked diligently to get me on their schedule within a relatively short timeline provided to them by me. My team of three movers, Rhys, Luke, and Dalante, were exceedingly professional, diligent, careful, and quick. They expeditiously assessed, prepped, and conducted the packaging and loading of the truck. This team of three was able to pack up and unload a 3 bedroom, 3 bath townhouse to a standalone house move across Richmond within 2 hours and 15 minutes!! There was not a scratch on any of my furniture or either of the two properties. All the while the team was diligent about asking questions about where the furniture placement would go in the new home, and they kept a positive and tireless attitude throughout my time with them. All of the services were provided for a price point I could not believe. This is by far the most efficient and cost-effective move I have ever encountered, and as someone who has experienced multiple large scale moves across the country due to military service, I really cannot reiterate how painless the process of working with Cavalier Moving was. The experience was absolutely one of the most disappointing experiences I've had as customer of any service. The company did damage many of our items and our property, which I understand is a risk when using a moving company, but the process was handled so inefficiently and unprofessionally across the board on top of this. The associates doing the move were not prepared with the necessary tools for reassembling our items, they requested help from myself and my wife in unloading items from the truck, and it was the sheer disrespectful and dismissive attitude throughout and after the process that is most appalling. The employees who were moving our items continuously stated throughout the day as things were being damaged "sorry, but this is just something that can happen in our industry". The General Manager of the region afterwards was unbelievably disrespectful and dismissive in my opinion. This company promises a "white glove" experience, and what was offered to us could not have been more contrary to that. I've had two moving experiences with Cavalier in March of 2022. On March 9th, Justin and two other movers arrived to move a piano to my daughter's house. On March 16th, Nick, Matt, and Ahmad moved the rest of our household to our new residence. Both experiences were outstanding. All 6 young men were polite, clean cut, very professional and hard working. They were very careful with all of our belongings. Nick, Matt, and Ahmad had a really tough move because of the stairs at our new residence - including narrow stairs up to a finished attic room. They got out Ca. King bed, two dressers, a king sized bed, and a sofa up into that attic WITH NO DAMAGE to either walls or furniture. Really amazing! I've been very impressed with every aspect of my interaction with Cavalier - from scheduling two moves, rescheduling one of those two, and the moving crews themselves, everything was top notch. Josh was phenomenal to work with while scheduling my moving day as well as providing all the relevant materials (boxes, paper, tape, etc.). During the move, Avery, Ben and Steven arrived on time and were extremely organized and efficient while carefully wrapping and moving all of our items. The team quickly and carefully disassembled and reassembled all of our major furniture items and thoughtfully listened to our instruction as to where furniture was to be placed throughout our home. We just bought our first/forever home, and we were a little tentative about the move because other moving companies we used in the past weren't great . But we were absolutely THRILLED with Cavalier Moving - Seth M., Sway, and Matthew were PERFECT. They were professional, careful, and hardworking. We were very impressed by them - they worked fast to carefully move our whole storage unit in, as well as some furniture from my childhood home. They were careful with my grandmother's piano, as well as my great-grandmother's bedroom set, and my all-glass cabinets. They didn't damage the walls like other movers have, and they were very polite. I can't recommend Cavalier Moving enough - for a stress-free move, don't hesitate! Man Cavalier is the best hands down! We went with another company and last minute they changed my delivery date. Wasn't going to work with us moving out of state. By the grace of god, my wife went to the mailbox and there was a flyer from cavalier. We called and they were able to help us set up our move for Chesterfield and the unload in Knoxville with a sister company. They were able to make it happen! Let me tell you, I've moved 12 time in my life, by far this was the best move of my life. I had the team of Chase, Briton, Russell and mark! Stand up guys! Hard works, and just great guys! We used Cavalier Moving to get us moved today and had a great experience. This was the first time in forty years of marriage my wife and I have used professional movers. It was the easiest smoothest move we had ever experienced. Nick, Curtis, and Jacob quickly and efficiently loaded and unloaded all our belongings. They expertly disassembled and reassembled furniture and exercise equipment. Several times I told them to put items including furniture in the wrong room and when I asked them to move it to another room they did so without hesitation or complaint. I called Cavalier on a Friday afternoon and asked them if they could help us offload a truck of furniture on Sunday morning. We had planned to do it ourselves but we had several very large and heavy pieces that had to go up a winding staircase. We lost our nerve at the last minute and decided to get some professionals to help. I thought it was a long shot on such short notice but was very pleasantly surprised that Cavalier was able to accommodate us. The movers Jaleel and Zach were very polite, arrived on time and were so friendly and helpful. They treated our furniture with kid gloves...nothing broken, no paint chipped on the walls etc. It could not have been a better experience and we will definitely call them again in the future. read more

Second time we've used Cavalier Moving, couldn't recommend them more. Rhys was super professional and a great manager of the move, and Ben P and Jack B were very responsible and took great care of our items. We have two pets and they were sure to manage around not letting them outside and moving items in a way that let us contain the cats in one room, then move them to another later. They were reliable, on time, and efficient. No attempts to upsell or charge us more than promised. They even remembered our names and addresses us by name the whole day. My move this week was a deceiving one. From a small to a large townhouse I think underestimated exactly how much stuff I had and the amount of time it would take to move. On top of that my home was filled with valuable and fragile artwork. I was definitely nervous about the move. However - Cavalier truly delivered. My team arrived on time. When you factor in renting your own truck, 8-16 hours of hurting yourself, physical therapy, the lost friendships, marriage counseling, and bribery beer and pizza-- hiring Cavalier Moving actually saves you money! Avery, Matt, & Sal did a great job on my move. I would highly recommend them.I got quotes from 3 movers, and Cavalier Moving was the most economical. 3 guys ! Frances, Seth A. and Jacob....great team, worked very well together, these guys were on time for the move and hustled in both packing the truck and then unloading. Very polite, well groomed, professional young men...and were careful with all of my belongings. Fun to work with and all of them really seemed to enjoy their work. Price was also very reasonable....moved a BR Suit, kitchen table, 3 chairs, hutch and TONS of boxes and totes full of xmas decor, home decor, kitchen ware, linens, etc....not the first piece damaged and in a decent amount of time !!! I had a wonderful experience with Tayvon, David, and Corey with Cavalier Movers yesterday! They were prompt, friendly, extremely careful with my stuff, and they worked hard to get done quickly. Tayvon was especially good at communicating with me, and with his team as well. They were so careful not to scratch furniture or ding walls. Tayvon was also extremely careful with my flat screen TV, and even made sure it was working at the new place. I can't say enough good things about them! Amazing, smooth, and quick move. My girlfriend and I were moving across town, and was our first ever move while living together. Rhys and Luke from Cavalier helped to make the experience as stress-free as possible. They showed up first thing in the morning right on time and got right to work, loading up and moving our things into a new apartment in only a few hours. Honestly, we cannot say enough nice things about this company. Our daughter used them and gave great reviews so we decided to try them and are so glad we did. They were very professional in appearance and interaction. All four were so nice and polite (Deon, Jeff, Sean, and Darnell). This was our first experience hiring a moving company. We had the pleasure of working with Justin, Antonio, and Nick who did the best job. They arrived perfectly on time and were so diligent in how they packed the truck. We had a lot of heavy appliances, furniture, and boxes that they were able to get moved to our new house safely.
