After a morning hike with my best friend, we decided to stop by CAVA in Whittier, and I'm so glad we did! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with exceptional customer service from Angie. She was incredibly sweet, welcoming, and genuinely made us feel valued as customers. It's not every day that you come across someone who is not only friendly but also takes the time to make your experience feel personal and enjoyable. As for the food it was absolutely delicious! Everything tasted fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. After working up an appetite on the trail, this meal hit the spot. The ingredients were vibrant, the portions were generous, and every bite was packed with flavor. Ambiance inside was a 10/10 but it was a nice day so we decided to eat outside. Between the outstanding food and Angie's wonderful customer service, this visit exceeded our expectations. Employees like Angie are the reason customers come back. We'll definitely be returning to this Whittier location soon!

1 Star -- Unprofessional, Impatient, and Disrespectful Customer Service From a Manager I witnessed an extremely disappointing interaction involving a manager named Didi at this CAVA location. His behavior raised serious concerns about his professionalism, patience, and suitability for a customer-facing management position. An African American customer was attempting to place his order while consulting his cell phone. He was standing at the station where customers select grains, dips, and spreads, including rice, lentils, and hummus. At one point, the customer paused for a few seconds while looking at his phone, apparently trying to determine his next selection. Rather than showing a reasonable degree of patience, Didi appeared visibly impatient and walked away toward the next station, where proteins are served. What particularly disturbed me was that the customer resumed speaking, seemingly unaware that Didi had walked away. Didi subsequently returned to the grains, dips, and spreads area. Is a customer no longer entitled to a few seconds to review his order without being treated as an inconvenience? CAVA operates a customizable, assembly-line-style restaurant where customers make multiple selections. Pausing to consult a phone, review menu choices, or gather one's thoughts is entirely normal. It should never be met with impatience or dismissive behavior, particularly from someone holding a management position. Unfortunately, Didi's overall demeanor was equally disappointing. He came across as unfriendly, unapproachable, and lacking the basic warmth and courtesy expected in the hospitality industry. How does someone who demonstrates this level of impatience and disregard for customer service become a manager? Management requires more than a title. It demands emotional intelligence, professionalism, effective communication, and the ability to lead by example. A manager should be setting the standard for how customers are treated, not demonstrating behavior that calls those standards into question. The customer did absolutely nothing wrong. He simply paused for a few seconds while reviewing his phone. If Didi needed to move to another station, the professional thing to do would have been to communicate that rather than abruptly walking away. Regardless of a customer's race or background, everyone deserves patience, dignity, and respect. I strongly encourage CAVA's district and regional leadership to evaluate Didi's customer service practices and whether his conduct reflects the company's expectations for management. An employee's attitude can influence a customer's experience, but a manager's attitude sets the tone for the entire restaurant. One star. An extremely disappointing display of customer service from someone who should know better and lead by example.

Cava in Whittier is a great option if you're craving Mediterranean flavors in a casual, Chipotle-style setting. You can build your own pita, bowl, or salad with lots of tasty options, and the portions are generous. We ordered the steak + feta pita and it was huge--my husband loved it! I went with the steak + harissa bowl and added pickled onions last minute (highly recommend). There's a fridge stocked with bottled drinks along with the usual fountain sodas and juices. We visited during the Saturday lunch rush, but the line moved quickly and the service was friendly. Only downside: the drink machine was out of ice, even after our meal, which was a letdown on a warm day. Otherwise, everything was delicious, and we'll definitely be back!

Chicken lentils and super green ! The best food I've already lost 20 pounds with only one bowl. Just kidding but I had a big bowel movement after eating all the shkug. Great service the gentleman filled my bowl to the rim with toppings. The vibe was cool. I appreciate the hardworking staff.

This Cava location is in a busy plaza with a shared storefront parking spots, along with a bigger parking area by Stater Brothers. There are lots of cars hazarding to do pick ups so just beware. As for the food, I ordered their make your own bowl with half saffron basmati rice and half supergreens. My protein was chicken and roasted vegetables, with tzatziki and hummus dips. For toppings, you can go crazy, but I usually get roasted corn, pita crisps, cucumbers, tomatoes, pickled onions, and lemon herb tahini for dressing. The bowl itself is very filling and healthy. They have tables inside and outside.

This CAVA location is great. Love being able to come here for a quick lunch during work. They are pretty consistent every time I go and the ingredients seem fresh. Their bowls are also not overly doused in dressing nor skimping out quantity wise like some other locations (*cough cough* Irvine).

This bowl was so good! I got just a Basmati rice base with Spicy lamb meatballs, harissa honey chicken, sweet potatoes, corn, and extra broccoli! For the dips I chose Crazy Feta, Red Pepper Hummus(for a lil spice to the bowl) and Tzatziki which all mixed super well. For the dress I chose the garlic dressing and that topped it off well! Would recommend this place for a fresher meal than most!

My 1/2 roasted veggies, 1/2 falafel build your own bowl. Yum!

My partner is a big fan of Cava so he really wanted me to give it a try. After several visits now I feel compelled to write my review-- I absolutely love this place! The food is great and good quality. My go-to is definitely the build your own bowl so I can add exactly what I want. And we absolutely love love love their pita chips-- delicious! Service has always been great at this location and would definitely recommend over their neighbor, Chipotle any day.

The employees need a bit of training in the happy department. Very rude and they speak so low u can hardly even hear what they are saying. Very unprepared and not attentive to customers coming in. They forgot about drinks, and sides multiple times, had to go back in 2 times to get what they forgot. One of the younger girls had an attitude problem and seemed so unhappy to do her job. I come by here pretty often because of their impeccable taste, quality and service. I used to go to that chipotle next door almost every Sunday & remember when they announced cava was opening I was so excited to try. From the first time I've been there to the most recent, the staff has always been extremely friendly with helping me with the menu. They even gave me samples which was super nice. The food portions are always perfect, I can usually get 2 meals out of 1 bowl. It's always busy when I go but they never fail to be kind & helpful. The space isn't large but it's a good place to have some yummy, build your own Mediterranean meals with friends. My favorite things to get in my bowl are the honey harissa chicken, feta, pita crisps & you must get the side of pita chips!! I've tried other cava locations and this one is by far the best!! read more

I love the food here, but service was terrible. I ordered 5 bowls to-go for my family and they wouldn't give any lids or a bag. They claimed the lids and a bag were only for online orders. I was by myself picking them up and I don't know how they expected me to get them to my car. They literally kept telling me no and kind strangers who overheard helped me get the bowls to my car. i love mediterranean food & this place always looks busy so i decided to give it a try! i went with the build your own grains bowl & it wasn't what i expected. everything looked good & right up my alley but it just didn't hit the spot. i made employees aware it was my first time there since i was taking sometime choosing my dips / toppings but they weren't of any help with recommendations. i stood at the cashier for awhile with my bowl sitting there & no one putting a lid on it or ringing me up. they also didn't give me the pita bread that comes with the bowl. (i love pita bread) unfortunately i won't be returning. read more

So happy to now have a Cava closer to home! I plan to be here often because the food is delicious. I visited this location for the first time a few days ago and it did not disappoint. The staff were friendly and the food was flavorful. We ate outside because for some reason it was SUPER cold inside. First time for Cava. Everyone was friendly and they had great service. I wasn't sure what to order and not really familiar with Mediterranean food. I ordered the Harissa and Avocado bowl with all the toppings and added the garlic sauce. It had so much flavor. The harissa chicken was spicy.. I don't like spice but flavor was so good I kept eating it. That thing lit me up. My eyes were watering. I can't wait to go back and try the lemon chicken. We ate outside. Parking was a bit of a bear. I had to park a little far across the shopping center but well worth it. read more

Excellent new restaurant in Whittier. I came to try this new location and I must say I was very impressed. The food was fresh, good servings , delicious veggies and toppings. The staff worked well as a team and the manager Anthony was incredibly kind , hardworking and provided great customer service with my order. I tried adding lemon, their house sauces, and hot sauce, but the fish and calamari still tasted pretty bland. I ordered the fish tacos and the fried calamari strips, and neither had much flavor. The portions were also on the smaller side, so I didn't feel like the price matched the amount or quality of the food. I'd have to give it a 6/10 at best. The staff was very friendly and attentive despite the food.

The sauce was very good which I'll give them that.

She ordered the Steak & Harissa Bowl along with a side of Harissa pita chips, no drink included. Our total came to just under $25. The food itself was excellent. I had one of the worst experiences at Kava. Compared to competitors like Sweet Greens, this place falls short in every way. The portion sizes are ridiculously small, and they charge extra for everything--even basic toppings. The options are limited, and worst of all, the staff is incredibly rude and unhelpful. It's shocking that this business is still running with such poor service and overpriced, underwhelming food. Other places like Sweet Greens and even Chipotle offer far better value, quality, and customer experience. Kava is simply not worth your time or money. I used to be a big fan of Cava, but lately, I've noticed a significant decrease in the amount of food they're putting into the bowls. It's not as much as before, and I'm not sure if I'll be returning. To make matters worse, the last time I ordered takeout from this location, they forgot my pita breads, which was really disappointing when I got home. This is one of my favorite places, but this particular location needs a bit of work. I'm assuming it's cause it's new & the staff just needs more training... but every time I come, the chicken is BURNT. Last time I was in line and I literally just watched as the chicken sat on the grill the entire time and literally not one person touched them. They got so burnt! They have those net screens up, which I assume are there to keep flies out, but that one clearly didn't get the memo. The food was just okay--nothing to write home about. It was a standard chicken teriyaki plate with a soda. Walking in on a day where the World Cup games were going on, one television was turned off and the other was showing a tv show with the volume off. There was no music in the restaurant, which was sort of weird feeling. The only thing in the background that cut through the four people eating and speaking to one another was the chopping of meat in the background. As we sat there to eat, we realized just how bare the menu really was and how expensively priced most items were. There were advertisements taped to the wall advertising discounts that had ended in the middle of last year right next to us as well, which was odd. Do they still honor the discounts or do they just not clean things up thoroughly? The decor was very cookie-cutter smash burger hipster, with the silver paneling lining the walls and the silver tables and chairs throughout. It just felt bland and in desperate need of a redesign and cleaning. Overall, very bland and I personally won't be back. I'll stick with the classics, I suppose! Thanks for reading!!
