    Salmon + Yogurt Dill

Well I don't see why there is a hype with this place. I was not impressed. It was like a chipotle but with different type of food and no available tables inside. I got the Salmon yogurt dill bowl with corn, Persian cucumbers with Garlic dressing. I'm always trying new things and I was excited to try this place believing the hype and I will say I will not visit this place again. The service was kind and they were great that's why I gave a two stars in my review. Unfortunately, 45 minutes after my lunch I was unable to leave the bathroom because of how bad my stomach was feeling. My friend and I had the same for lunch and she was also going through the same thing as me. Some people love this place but I can't say the same.

This was my first time going here and I was absolutely blown away. The downtown location gets pretty busy but their staff does a great job at pushing the line through. Location is great and easy to walk to. The food is what you must go for though. This bowl was amazing. I got all the sauce on the side and it was perfect for the next few days as my meal. It was huge. They gave me so much meat!!! I loved the sauces and the hummus. Melt in my mouth delicious

I do not understand the hype. The service was great. However, the food is bland and does not taste authentic at all. It is too pricey for basic food. I can get a similar dish that is more authentic and cheaper at a fancy restaurant just down the street. The restaurant was clean and organized. Just not a fan of the flavor and options.

Came here to satisfy my CAVA craving- decided to take it easy with my bowl! I ordered lettuce and basmati rice as my base and decided to go with grilled chicken and chicken shawarma as my protein. I got the roasted eggplant, hummus, and red pepper hummus as my dip, along with Persian cucumber, salt-brined pickles, pickled onions, and some lemon herb tahini as my dressing. My boyfriend and I split the cucumber lime mint beverage together, it's the best fountain drink IMO. Overall I was really happy with my bowl, the new chicken shawarma is really yummy and seasoned well. Definitely make sure to visit this spot! Indoor seating is a tad limited, but we came around 11 AM on a Monday so there were not that many people.

Steak + Harissa bowl and iced tea

This place is amazing! Always fresh and delicious. I usually get the unsweetened iced tea and the steak harissa bowl with a few add ons. I love that it's easy to customize stuff too.

Very chipotle-like in how one is served, which I didn't mind other than I felt very rushed during each step by the other customers. It was my first time here and there was a lot of different things to read. I ended up just getting a bunch of recommendations from the employee who was helping me. By the end, I ended up with Spinach and Black Lentils for the base, Roasted Eggplant Dip, Crazy Feta, and Harissa for the dips/spreads, Harissa Honey Chicken for protein, topped with Fiery Broccoli, Avocado, Persian Cucumber, Shredded Romaine, and Crumpled Feta. For my dressing, I got their Lemon Herb Tahini and Schug on the side. I also got their Red Pepper Hummus with Garlic Pita Chips on the side. Not going to go into every detail, but I will say I felt really good while I was eating this! Everything was really healthy and fresh. However, I didn't like the tahini or the eggplant dip whatsoever. The eggplant dip actually tasted like it had been prechewed and I had to spit it out. I liked the hummus, but it didn't have a strong red pepper flavor to me. What really made it good was the garlic pita chips. They were crazy crunchy and flavorful! Loved them. I think I would honestly get close to the same thing as this time. While it was on the healthy side for me, I can see how this can become very unhealthy pretty quickly with all the add-ons you get. Some things can really make the price go up too, like the Spicy Lamb Meatballs they currently have. I wanted to try it, but it was an extra $5 for it, which is crazy to me.

Decent food option near the courthouse doing Jury Duty. They put way too much dressing on the salads. I should have known better to ask for dressing on the side. The greek salad with chicken would have been so much more tasty with a controlled amount of dressing. The shining star is definitely their fresh juices!

CAVA - Delicious, Affordable, and Kid-Friendly! I got the Kids Pita Meal and honestly, it's a total win For under $8, you get to choose your protein, rice, and toppings, plus it comes with a side of crispy pita chips and a kid's drink I was surprised at how filling and flavorful it was -- definitely packed with value! The flavors are fresh and vibrant -- the protein was tender, the rice was perfectly seasoned, and the toppings added the perfect touch of texture and taste The pita chips are crunchy and addictive, and the kids' drink rounds it out perfectly. The location is bright, clean, and welcoming Perfect for a quick, satisfying meal for both kids and adults alike. Great portion, fresh flavors, and an unbeatable price -- CAVA is a must-visit if you're looking for a quick and delicious meal!

Chicken and Rice bowl I was absolutely shocked how good my food was. The service was quick and easy. The wait was maybe about 5 mins waiting in line at the door. Got a chicken and rice bowl and it did not disappoint. Although the rice did have bits and pieces that was hard overall great meal. Would definitely return and hope the rice is better. Price wise is well worth it not expensive for a healthy and savory meal. Location is nice has indoor and outdoor seating with umbrellas. The vibe is nice gets busy with business and other people but overall great. Parking can be difficult to find so might have to park blocks away and walk there!

This location during the weekday gets crowded around 11:15 am, so get here before the lunch rush that extends out the door. Executive summary: Depth of menu:5/5 Parking: 3/5-paid parking Flavor:5/5 Drinks:5/5 Good for groups:3/5-limited seats inside and outside Service:4/5-the workflow is like subway or chipotle. You pay at the end of the counter. The menu selection here surprisingly has depth. You have just salad, you can have it with chicken (delicious ), lamb, or steak. There are preset bowls or create your own. I went for their preset chicken bowl with all the toppings. I was surprised the flavor and seasoning was not overpowering. The chicken was flavorful and not overcooked. It was tender, juicy and fresh! All of this is in a bed of brown rice, salad greens, tomatoes, cucumbers, and radishes. I washed all of this down with a refreshing cucumber mint lime fountain drink. For dessert, there are brownies and chocolate chips squares. I will come back here again, early or order ahead of the lunchtime rush.

I heard they're going to start serving beer and wine soon as well! *Best 1st-timer options*: The Keeper (if you like it spicy) or the L.G.B.T. My favorite hot sandwiches are the Cali Cubano, B3, and The Keeper, while my favorite cold sandwiches are the Avocado Highway, L.G.B.T. (lettuce, gouda, bacon, tomato), and Caprese. My favorite salads are the Grapevine and Duck Cranberry. For sides I recommend the potato salad and tomato basil bisque. The aioli they use is to die for -- can't hurt to get a side of it with any sandwich! The restaurant is situated on the corner of Park Blvd. and Polk Ave. (more generally, it's on the strip of Park Blvd. between University Ave. and El Cajon Blvd.). There is usually a good amount of parking on Park Blvd. and Polk Ave., which is nice. The space has a simple-yet-tasteful modern design and interior, is always clean, with friendly and helpful staff. Great for lunch hour or a weekend date. Update: Came back today with my friend and we ordered the B3 and the Turkey & Cheddar Mousse sandwiches, plus sides of potato salad and cucumber salad, and a double chocolate cookie with pistachio and sea salt. Everything was really good, but the Turkey & Cheddar Mousse sandwich was the star of the show. The cookie was great too. We both agreed the potato salad could use some salt, but besides that it was a solid meal all around.

On the first visit, Zack provided exceptional care and attention while helping navigate food allergies. Zack took the time to carefully check ingredients, double-check preparations, and personally come back out to verify everything to ensure safety. That level of care made the experience feel genuinely welcoming and stress-free. The chicken sandwich was fresh, satisfying, and thoughtfully balanced. Juicy chicken, ripe tomatoes, creamy avocado, and a bright splash of oil and vinegar came together beautifully on Big Front Door's roll, which had a great texture and held everything together well. The flavors were clean and vibrant. A little extra salt would have pushed it over the top for a salt-lover, but that came down to personal preference rather than any shortcoming. A dining companion ordered the avocado sandwich and could not stop raving about it, praising both the flavor and the freshness. The outdoor seating area deserves special mention. The shaded space was perfect as I do have sun allergies, especially for anyone who prefers relief from direct sun. The care taken in food preparation added an extra layer of comfort and trust. The second visit somehow raised the bar even higher. Micah went above and beyond to accommodate physical ability needs with patience, attentiveness, and genuine kindness. That effort did not go unnoticed and made the experience feel deeply respectful and inclusive. The roasted chicken sandwich ordered on the second visit was phenomenal. The roasted chicken was tender, savory, and full of depth, elevating the sandwich even further. Adding a bit of extra salt brought all the ingredients into perfect harmony, making every bite more satisfying than the last. This sandwich has officially earned a spot as a new favorite sandwich. Big Front Door was amazing not just for delicious, thoughtfully prepared food, but for the people who work there. Zack and Micah created an environment where care, kindness, and respect were clearly prioritized. No moment felt rushed, dismissive, or uncomfortable. At no point did anyone make the experience feel like a burden or inconvenience. A sincere thank-you also goes to the team members who prepared the food. Even without knowing names, the care taken to keep guests safer while serving delicious nourishment was evident and deeply appreciated. Big Front Door comes highly recommended for the flavorful sandwiches, the shaded outdoor space, the welcoming atmosphere, outstanding customer service, and the genuine kindness shown at every action.

There were just too many misses to ignore. There were three of us dining, and it took quite awhile for the food to come out. Eventually the plates arrived, and I ordered the chicken and waffles -- one of their signature brunch dishes. I cut into the chicken and immediately realized it was raw. Not "a little pink." Raw. I showed the server, and to her credit, she quickly took it back to the kitchen. At that point, my two table mates finished their meals while I still sat there waiting with no food. Eventually I had to flag down the manager myself to figure out what was going on. His response? "Well done... let me go get it." Well done? This isn't a steak. Chicken is either cooked or it's raw. There's no such thing as chicken tartare. That response alone was honestly alarming. Then he comes back out with completely different chicken -- chicken cutlets instead of the original bone-in fried chicken. I asked, "What's this?" and he explained that because I said I wanted it "well done," they prepared it differently in a way they thought I would like. I was genuinely blown away by that explanation. So the solution to undercooked bone-in fried chicken is... to stop serving bone-in chicken altogether? We're talking about a restaurant that serves this as a featured brunch item. Frying bone-in chicken correctly shouldn't be a mystery. At that point I was frustrated, still hungry, and honestly ready to leave, so I asked him to adjust the bill. His solution was to only remove the two chicken plates I didn't eat. That was his idea -- not mine. I actually had to go back and explain to him that this entire experience had been mishandled from beginning to end. I told him directly: "Jessie, this wasn't cool at all." There's no such thing as "well done" chicken. That should have been caught immediately. The correct response should have been acknowledging the mistake, correcting the kitchen, and making sure the dish was properly remade -- not improvising an entirely different version of the meal. Eventually he adjusted the entire bill, which I appreciated, but I shouldn't have had to push for basic hospitality after sitting through all of that. I also found it surprising that nobody ever offered an alternative dish, appetizer, or anything at all while I sat there hungry waiting for a resolution. Again, this review is disappointing for me because I've genuinely enjoyed this place before. But raw chicken combined with the way the situation was handled simply can't be overlooked.

Stopped in last night to celebrate my husband's birthday. Although Del's doesn't take reservations, we were able to snag a few tables right next to the kids play area. It was perfect since we had so many kids in our party. All the food was delicious -- from their baked beans, corn bread, onion rings, and to their barbecue selection. We ordered the 12 party meal plus some appetizers for the kids such as the Mac & cheese and chicken tenders. Everyone was commenting on how good everything was. Honestly, this has become one of our favorite barbecue spots! Their bbq sauce is also really good, it had the right amount of sweetness and slight tang without being too thick. Would definitely recommend to anyone who just wants to watch the game by themselves or bring a large party. Thank you Del's for making it a memorable night!
