    Chimichurri Steak, soo good!
    Madison D.

Really enjoyed our dinner here! We ordered 2 sandwiches for pickup and they were ready about 10 mins later when we arrived. Large parking lot with plenty of free parking options. The hostess was very friendly. The chimichurri steak sandwich is soooo good, that was the winner of the two! The SoCal sandwich was also very yummy! We swapped pepper jack cheese for cheddar. Only knocking off a star because the portions aren't super large for the price point. It is nice they include a small side salad.

Urbane Cafe is a solid spot with great vegetarian options and consistently flavorful food. Service is fast, which is perfect for a quick lunch or casual meal. They also have an excellent catering menu - we've ordered from them for events and everything comes beautifully packaged with utensils and cups included. The cafe is in a strip mall with plenty of parking, making it convenient to stop by. Overall, tasty, reliable, and friendly! A go-to for simple, satisfying meals.

I jumped in for a quick lunch load of Friday afternoon. The place was starting to fill up, but service was rapid. I had the fishbowl with rice. It was fantastic and very filling the person taking the orders and also the person who delivered my food or very friendly. The restaurant was clean and organized was my first try that I will definitely be back.

Nice clean little cafe! Very friendly & helpful employees! We took our food to go (Salmon Bowl & Baja Bowl) & it was scrumptious! Very good portions & healthy options! The in-house focaccia is so good as well! This was such a great experience. Thank you!

I was excited that Urbane Cafe was offering a Bogo offer on Valentine's Day so I plan to come and order my two favorites, the salmon bowl and the Aji bowl. That would take care of two days of meals plus they're super yummy. I arrived at 1:45 and ordered my meal and it was ready in the 15 minutes promised. The manager. Adan was super helpful because I was having trouble ordering the Bogo offer on my app. He solved it right away and he was so kind and capable. He had this location operating very smoothly and he was doing it in the right way. Everyone seemed really happy and working as a great team. He even came outside while I was eating on the patio and asked everyone how their meal was going. I commented on how delicious the sauce was on my salmon and he said it was their secret sweet chili sauce. I finished my salmon meal and I'm quite full so I'm gonna go for a little high canal in the Mission Valley preserve and then I will enjoy my Aji bowl tomorrow. I'm amazed these days that I can actually get a meal for a decent price of around $15 and I am very very satisfied. The bathroom and the entire space including the patios were very clean. I've been to this location many many times over the years and I've never failed to have a great experience. Keep up the good work. !

I've been coming here since they opened. They do a great job of keeping the faves on the menu and also adding new and seasonal items. My faves are the Santa Maria salad, the pastrami sandwich, the keto cobb salad and THE BREAD! Spouse loves the Southwest chicken. I ordered the Baja bowl for the first time to eat tomorrow. Maybe it will be a new fave-we shall see! The employees have always been and continue to be wonderful.

We've been following Urbane Cafe for a while and finally got a chance to give them a try. Upon entering the door, we were quickly greeted with a smile! That always makes my day! We pondered on the menu and asked questions. Again, the young lady was very patient, polite, friendly, and helpful. Urbane Cafe offers a healthier way of eating. Their menu consists of salads, sandwiches with side salad, or bowls. Kids menu items as well. There's vegetarian sandwich options, too. We ate inside once and came back for takeout the second time in one week!!! The restaurant seating area was very clean. The staff came around to take our trays/trash while we were chit chatting. We would have done it when leaving, but it was nice of them to go above and beyond. We ordered the tofu sandwich and the other one added BBQ tri-tip for an extra add on fee. Both salads were delicious!! Overall, great service and food. The restaurant is located in a shared parking lot. Ample parking available. We chatted with a couple of the staff members and they were out going and friendly. Budget friendly healthy choices. We will be back....

Admittedly, this might be an inflated review because I have so much love for Urbane for nostalgia reasons. I went to USD and they catered so many events for us, I had Urbane all the time. And I just love that 10 years later it's just as great as it used to be. The bread at urbane is so good. I absolutely love this focaccia bread. Every sandwich I've tried is great. I particularly love the steak chimichurri sandwich and the southwest chicken. They're both super flavorful. The southwest chicken has ooey gooey cheese, black beans, corn, and avocado. The chimichurri on the steak has a perfect herbaceous flavor. The side salad that the sandwiches come with is so simple, but I love the vinaigrette dressing with the feta and clementine. It's the perfect complement. This location is pretty small compared to the Burbank location for example, but everyone at both locations are so kind and inviting. I didn't get the tortilla soup this time but I do love that soup as well and highly recommend it!

The Linda Vista branch of Urbane Cafe was smaller than the one I had visited on Mira Mesa Blvd for a group outing. The parking situation here was a little trickier too because the spaces were shared with all the residents and businesses at the Morena Vista apartment complex. The menu board was posted high above the service counter when you walked in. I had to stare at it a little while to figure out what I wanted. What caught my eye this time was the BBQ Tri-Tip sandwich. The marinated BBQ tri-tip steak was dressed with pepper jack cheese, house made apple coleslaw, and chipotle aioli. The slaw really added contrast to the meat. Like all of their sandwiches, the order came with a small mixed green salad on the side. I also bought a fountain drink to fill up on the refreshing lemonade. That beverage was pretty addicting because of the heavy amount of sugar. Speaking of sweet, I finished my order with one of the Black & White cookies which don't seem to be available anymore. It was half of a Double Chocolate Crunch and half of a regular Chocolate Chip. Mine was a little overbaked as it was crustier than I had preferred, but the cookie still tasted great. The fast casual setup was great for locals living nearby at USD to pick up some reasonably healthy food.

talk about fresh ingredients and we'll crafted menu items! this is a sandwich/ salad/ bowl restaurant with incredibly fresh ingredients and delicious items, perfect for a filling lunch that won't weigh you down. We got the special, a Harissa Chicken Sandwich which was a tad messy with all of the sauce, so I recommend to be mindful where you eat that one (maybe not in from of your CEO at a new job, or in the car while you're driving). While Harissa is known to be spicy, this was not the same, especially since it was paired with a tzatziki sauce to balance it out It was hard to put it down once I started (both out of messiness and also out of delicious bliss) We also ordered a pastrami rueben that was a great combination of salty, sweet, and sour. It came with a little side of zingy mustard - do yourself a favor and slather that on there, it really elevated the dish. this sandwich has bread and butter pickles, which I don't care for but with the mustard and the salty meat, it was a perfect addition. These sandwiches came with a generous portion of vinegrette-tossed salad, a perfect compliment to a heavier sandwich. in June 205, we paid $30 for two meals (after tax & tip) - a good deal in todays market, especially for the portion size and the quality Overall, this place was amazing and I can't wait to try more menu items!

Okay, I'm not gunna lie. We get Urbane catered all the time at work so I have been on an Urbane boycott for a while. It's just too much bread for me to have all the time. I went there last week and tried their salmon salad and it was FIRE. I really enjoyed all the flavors mixing together and how there was just enough of everything in it. I ordered at the counter and within 10 minutes my food was brought to my table. They had quite a few salad options so that's nice. We went during the lunch hour and there were places to sit but not alot. It wasn't crowded but it wasn't quiet. I now have a go-to salad I can order when my team wants to order Urbane.

I've been back to Urbane Cafe a couple of times and I really appreciate the range of low calorie options here, and that the calories are listed on the menu so there's no guessing if you're counting calories. So far, I've had the cilantro chicken salad, crunchy peanut salad, and the Santa Maria bbq salad, and the ahi salad (in the order of least to most favorite, although I enjoyed all but the ahi salad.) The quarter of focaccia bread included with the salad is a nice touch. I do think the sandwiches here are quite small. I've never tried the sandwiches, but my husband had the SoCal, pesto & sundried tomato, and the Southwest (in order of least to most favorite).

Then, as the day progressed I wanted to have a good lunch so I would not be that hungry for dinner and just lightly snack. So, I was craving a deli sandwich. I decided to try Rubicon Deli in Mission Hills area. I kept hearing how their sandwiches were so good. I ordered a tuna sandwich, and the girl behind. the counter was helpful and friendly, but did inform me they were out of a few bread types. I order a Dutch crunch type of bread for a tuna sandwich. They serve half and whole sandwiches so I just ordered a half which was still a good-sized portion . I wish I would have liked this sandwich because I drove 20 minutes to try this place. The bread was too dry and super messy because it was so dry. The rest of the sandwich was okay. The tuna was bland tasting as it did not seem like it was seasoned. The veggies on it were the only thing that made the sandwich decent tasting. It was nothing to write home about or drive out of my area to try it . I was hungry and paid so I had to eat it. Although, I threw away the other half of it . It was not horrible, but it was not tasty either. The service was good and they had plenty of tables to sit down inside. But, I also noticed the tables were not being wiped down and under the tables there were food crumbs all over. Luckily, I had my trusty sanitizer for the table. The fact no one was cleaning as it needed to be done was a turn off. Restaurants and places of businesses need to take it serious and keep it clean everywhere so no one gets sick. Lastly, keep in mind when you arrive at this place, you have to pay the City of San Diego parking which I paid 2.50 extra just to come here .

This was my first visit to this business…read more Around 11:30 AM on April 22, 2026, I stopped in while out on a break from work, hoping to support a local business and grab a quick lunch. I planned to order a their soup and half-sandwich combo. After waiting my turn, I asked what the soup of the day was. Instead of a direct response, the employee behind the counter (wearing a black shirt) pointed vaguely toward the counter and said, "It's right there." There were multiple signs and items, and it wasn't clear what he was referring to. I asked again for clarification, and he repeated himself--this time with clear irritation. I said "I don't see it". With some distain he replied "chicken noodle soup". At that point, it was obvious the interaction wasn't going anywhere productive or that this individual did not value his customers. I made a comment about the attitude and left. Here's the reality: in today's economic environment, every customer matters. I came in with the intention of spending money and potentially becoming a repeat customer. Instead, I was met with dismissive and unfriendly service for no reason. What are we doing? I wasn't rude or confrontational - I simply asked a basic question. The employee could have have simply stated what the soup of the day was. Instead, his attitude was unnecessarily hostile and reflects poorly on the business. Interactions like that don't just lose a single sale, they cost long-term customers and referrals. If ownership is paying attention, fire this guy!Staff represent your brand, and this experience fell well below any reasonable standard of hospitality. Unfortunately, I will never be returning, and I will not recommend this place based on this experience. In fact, I will provide this account of my experience with Royal Food Mart to many!

I ordered the BBQ beef brisket sandwich and can't wait to go back to try the whole menu. The sandwich was made to perfection. The bread was amazing, and I finished it before I knew it! It had cheese, onion, tomato, mayo, and BBQ sauce - this was so good. I'm usually not big on tomato or heavy BBQ sauce, but if it's worth it, I'll eat both... and this was absolutely worth it. The BBQ sauce has officially grown on me. The wait wasn't long at all. I didn't go inside to pick up my order, so I can't speak for customer service yet, but I can 100% vouch for the food. Got lucky with parking right out front. Can't wait to come back!

OMG, this food was so good, I had a party 6 people and we waited for about 45 minutes for a table…read moreon a Monday evening. The service was absolutely amazing, everyone was really polite and helpful and the ambiance was calming and relaxing. I had ordered the pesto pasta and it was definitely fresh food and probably one of the best food dishes I've had in a while. Overall would definitely make the hour drive down here.

If you love Italian food, the grocery section at Mona Lisa is like being a kid in a candy…read morestore...except the candy has been replaced with pasta, olive oil, cookies, and enough imported goodies to make you question how much room you have left in your pantry. We wandered through every aisle and had the best time discovering products you just don't see at your average grocery store. From authentic pastas and sauces to chocolates, cookies, and specialty ingredients, there was something new around every corner. The deli case is equally impressive, filled with meats and cheeses that would take any charcuterie board from "nice" to "where did you get all of this?" The store isn't large, but every inch is packed with something worth looking at. It's the kind of place where you go in for one item and somehow leave with a bag full of things you never knew you needed. If you're spending time in Little Italy, don't just visit the deli--take a few extra minutes to explore the market. Just be prepared for the toughest decision of the day: figuring out what not to buy.
