I've been wanting to check out Cava for years, and it didn't disappoint! The food is flavorful, fresh, delicious, and it comes in super generous portions at incredible prices. My family of four split three bowls, and we still had leftovers! I honestly couldn't tell you what we got in each of the bowls (for the protein options, we went with 2 grilled chicken bowls and 1 braised lamb, and I remember being excited about eggplant dip, roasted red pepper hummus, and the unlimited toppings), but I can tell you that they were all really delicious. I love the idea of this place. The build-your-own Mediterranean food is genius. And the flavors at this restaurant are honestly delicious. That feta dip! However I have to sadly give some albeit honest, but negative feedback. I ordered a bowl tonight that had raw lentils in it. I chose a grain bowl, so the entire base of this bowl was lentils. Plus, I didn't order protein because I was counting on those lentils for that. But the lentils were legitimately raw and thus inedible. Well, that's not entirely true as I had to gnaw my way through some ad I did my best to pick around them. To add insult to injury the roasted vegetables I had on top were raw too. Raw sweet potatoes and carrots. It was sadly very unpleasant. I know this restaurant is newer, so I hope this kind of thing is just one of the kinks of early business, and that they can get a better process down to prevent this. Lentils are fairly easy to determine to be cooked or not. Raw lentils are very small and hard, but once cooked they get bigger and pretty soft. It should be the kind of thing the staff can learn quickly. I love that there's an option for a fast, casual Mediterranean option in the area. Think of this place as the Chipotle of Mediterranean food. Now, I had my reservations at first because I've had this type of cuisine before but I decided to give this place the benefit of the doubt. The food was ordered through delivery and the food came on time and warm. I decided to build my own bowl. My bowl was half grains (white rice) and greens (super greens). You get to choose up to three dips and I chose the hummus, red pepper hummus and the tzatziki. You also have the option to choose a protein, but I chose to do half and half (falafel and grilled chicken). The best part was that you can choose as many toppings as you want. I like that if you're ordering online, you can see the pictures of each item you're adding to the bowl. The only downside may be that there's not a description to certain things, such as Super Greens. I had to google as to what was in the Super Greens. For a little over $10, the portions are big. You will not be disappointed and you don't feel guilty about eating this type of food. It's not too heavy and you don't feel like you're about to grow a food baby. read more

Very pleased to have come to Cava in Plano. It is a perfect spot for lunch on their patio with the "mini Belagio" water show and music coming on each hour out front. I had the mixed bowl of grains and salad. My wife ordered the Greek Salad. With 2 glasses of water our cost out the door was $21 I loved my mixed bowl as I got to add many great ingredients. It is sort of like ordering at Chipotle, except the options are far greater and the quality of ingredients is excellent. I especially liked the spicy chicken, small black lentils, olives and three of the sauces. I'm a high-volume eater and this bowl completely filled me up. It would be far more than most women could eat in one setting, but for me it was a perfect size. My wife's Greek Salad looked terrific and she thought it tasted great. My grains and lettuce bowl cake with 2 great tasting pieces of pita bread. Not sure if it was a mistake, but my wife only received one piece of Pita Bread with her salad Going out to eat normally I would knock a restaurant a star or 2 for having to wait in line to order as opposed to someone taking our order at the table, but what makes this a great meal is the ability of each person to select their own preferred ingredients out of the vast array of options. The bathroom was clean and the patio is covered for a great outdoor venue. I don't give many "5-stars" but Cava gets this rating for an overall fantastic experience. I'm honestly embarrassed for this establishment and the people who work here. We came in for a late dinner at 9pm and they had already stopped cooking and drained the teas/lemonades and were "out" of chicken and half of the toppings (yet the staff failed to mentioned that they were out of half their topping until we got to that place in the line). One of the workers was standing right in front of us staring off into the distance as we waited for him to acknowledge us so we could tell him what toppings we wanted in our bowls. Not only that, but I have never seen anyone move so slow in my life. When we were checking out they didn't ask us if we wanted a drink or say any words at all and they hadn't yet given us the pita that comes with our bowls, so we had to ask for them...the person checking us out then reluctantly walked to get them after. After checking out, we went to find a seat and it looked as if none of the tables had been wiped. All were dirty and had trash and food and liquid all over them. Overall, it was really frustrating to come in wanting dinner and seeing that the close-down procedures had already been started and the kitchen was already closed. I feel like if your store isn't supposed to close until 10, these procedures definitely should NOT start at 9. Also, there were at least a dozen people who came in after us seeking dinner, only to be let down by cava not having half their menu available. I also feel like it is worth noting that I pretty much never leave reviews anywhere, but felt compelled to for this place because of how disappointed I am. read more
