First and foremost, CAVA is one of my favourite upper-level "fast-food" dining experiences. Ever since trying it out in DC for the first time, I haven't visited a Chipotle ever since. You just get so much more for your buck at a higher quality. This particular location is one of my go-to's whenever I'm in the city. The staff was extremely hospitable and patient, and the bathroom was really clean as well. I felt really taken care of on my visit here, and my bowl, as always, was fresh and combined with love. The only thing I'd note is that the staff wasn't always wearing masks while preparing the food -- however, NYC is relaxing mask-wearing regulations. This place is great! I came here for the first time while on my way to class and I needed something filling but also healthy to eat. They have a variety options to choose from and everything came out so delicious. I chose the rice with lentils, chicken, tzatziki, veggies, cabbage and diced cucumbers. I was nervous about how all of it was going to taste together but it was good I was surprised! I'm definitely going to add more options next time. Also the employees who work here were really helpful since it was my first time. I also just want to mention how the CAVA app is so convenient when trying to figure how many calories I am eating. It's extremely helpful and I like that I can pay with the cava app as well. I definitely recommend coming here if you're in the mood for something delicious and healthy. I've always loved Mediterranean food. The only thing I will say is that it's a bit pricey and I would hope to have gotten more food especially I wished they gave me more chicken and I felt the ratio of veggies to chicken was small. read more

Had to wait a few minutes to order while the employees were chatting. Then while I was waiting for the restroom I stepped away for a second to confirm an item for my order. An employee came out from the kitchen area and I informed her that I was waiting for the restroom. She stated that she didn't see me waiting and why should I go in front of her. I let her know I had been waiting and stepped away for a moment. She finally acknowledged and allowed me to use the restroom ahead of her changing clothes to leave for the day. I usually don't write reviews for fast food chains (chipotle, sweet green etc) but this is my FAVORITE place and every single time I used to visit my boyfriend in NY I would have cava at least 3 times. It's so healthy and easy yet tastes so delicious and the portion sizes are huge. I always get the half grains half greens with spinach and grilled chicken protein with hummus, red pepper hummus and almost all the toppings. Highly recommend if you've never had! read more

Have always wanted to try it but lines are always crazy busy so I decided to give it a go today by being super organised and turned up just before midday. There was already a small line when I got there but it wasn't too long until I was served. I decided to try the grains and salad bowl, choosing chicken as my protein. The ordering process was pretty straight forward - choose 3 dips, protein, toppings and also dressing. The toppings are unlimited and I recommend the crunchy pita chips. They were absolutely delicious. The bowl was just a little over $11 with tax. It isn't bad for lunch and the serving is plenty with a pita bread thrown on the side too. I am not a salad person because I prfer hot meal first for lunch but OMG this place is so awesome. It was a bit walk for me from work but my friend insisted to try it. I loved everything about this place. Fresh cut salad, fresh grilled meat and love the spicy stuff of hummus and some other things. This place was on East side. Over all, I recommend it to try if you are around Manhattan. Just be aware the Staff in this location are not friendly and they don't give you a chance to ask questions because they want to serve all the people in line quickly which basically meet poor customer service and that's the reason why it is only 3 Stars. read more

I've come to realize that in the Flatiron sea of fast casual bowls, Cava is basically the best around. In terms of freshness, flavor, colors, and Crazy Feta, they are beating out just about all the other spots. Especially on Crazy Feta. I don't even think most places have Sometimes I Get A Little Loose on Vacation Feta. And people have taken notice. You can tell by the line around that snakes around the store at prime lunchtime. The move is heading over a half hour early for lunch, but even if you can't make it before noon the line does move pretty quickly. (Although, not so quickly that when you sit at the table in the middle with your coworkers, it won't be horribly awkward when a girl you know from college that you don't ever want to talk to again for reasons you probably shouldn't share in a Yelp review creeps past as you both avoid eye contact at all costs. But quickly enough.) I'm not going to tell you what you should get, but suffice is to say that there are a ton of options. Personally, I've found the super greens base, braised lamb, grilled chicken, and the aforementioned Crazy Feta to be winners, as well as all the toppings. I mean that literally. This used to be our office go to but seems as of recently the portion sizes have gotten smaller and smaller. I added a picture for context but after one forkful about a quarter of my salad was gone. I ordered pickup and didn't realize until I got back to the office that about half of the ingredients were missing and I was not notified. Not sure whether management has enforced new portions or something else but given the change I am not sure it's worth the expense. It was always a bit expensive in my opinion, but definitely fills you up, it's healthy, and tasty. The customer service here is pretty good. This is a standard cava. Fast casual customizable Mediterranean bowls - think CHIPOTLE, but for Mediterranean. Compared to other CAVAs, I'd say this one definitely skimps a bit on how much food they give you. My bowls are usually filled to the brim during previous CAVA experiences, but at this location, my bowls are rarely packed and usually barely fill up 3/4 of the bowl. I'm mostly consistent with my orders too, so it's a bit weird. It could be that I only come during lunch-time too, so rush hour might have something to do with it. I think they have an app where you can order and pick-up, but I haven't tried it. I DO NOT recommend waiting the line at lunch if you're in a rush. Maybe you're thinking, "oh, it looks like it's going pretty fast" - NOPE. From waiting in the line at the door to paying for your food, that whole process takes about 30-40 minutes. I've waited this line twice, so I wouldn't say my sample size of 2 is indicative of CAVAs line speed everyday, but i think it's quite telling. Don't wait if you're in a rush. There are a lot of other fast casual joints and delis in the area! Otherwise, if you're in no hurry, CAVA is always a solid place to eat in general. read more

The prices are good for NYC and it's a good place to go if you want your food quickly. This place is like the Mediterranean version of Chipotle. Yelp led me here... and I'm glad it did. My friends and I were looking for food options around the area and this place was suggested as the newest/hottest/recommended place, so we decided to give it a try. When I first looked at the menu and saw that they offered a bowl option with unlimited toppings, I was sold! It has a similar ordering system as chipotle or poke shops. I'm a fan of these types of things. I love when they offer a variety of choices to choose from. Of course, I went with the "build it" bowl option. I got greens & grains. They allowed me to mix greens, which was cool. I got spinach/lettuce and brown rice. Next I went with Tzatziki, crazy feta (and even more tzatziki for my 3rd option). I like both of the dips. Again for the protein, I was able to mix options, getting half grilled meatball and half chicken. And toppings, too much to name. In the end, my bowl was packed/stuffed. I struggled to finish the whole thing, but it was a good struggle. After my first visit, I would definitely recommend CAVA. It's a healthy option, very filling depending on what you get and worth the cost. And the spacious seating on a Saturday was a plus. read more

There's been a lot of staff turnover recently, and many of the new employees are extremely slow and unfriendly. The line used to go by quickly, and now every visit takes close to an hour to get my food. The cashier keeps yelling at people in line for opening the door to enter. I am now a fan of Cava! Always see a line out the door and wrapped around inside so wanted to see what the hype was. Line moves at a good pace. I recommend you mark off on the menu (available at the front) what you want because when it's time to order your food, it goes SO FAST. I went with the greens and grain bowl, selecting arugula and saffron basmati rice. You can choose two proteins, I went with only the grilled chicken. You get choice of three dips and spreads. I chose eggplant and red pepper, tzatziki and hummus. You can choose as many toppings as you want. I added tomatoes, cucumbers, cabbage and pita crisps. I forgot to add the tabbouleh because of the fast-paced line. Lastly, time for dressings. Plenty to choose from (and I'll be back to try more) but went with the lemon herb tahini. All these flavors made for a great combination. Hard to try each individual item because it was more delicious when mixed in, but I'll say the hummus is standarard, tzatziki has good flavor, red pepper was great! Chicken was tender and nicely seasoned, not overly salty which is a plus. Fresh greens, well-cooked rice, toppings were in abundance. Highly recommend adding pita crisps! Adds a nice crunch to your meal. Surprised that it came with pita bread. I thought it was just a piece of paper they kept under your bowl to keep the bottom of your platter from getting dirty.
