I passed this place up several times bc I thought it was going to be the typical overhyped bland food that everyone seems to love. However I can admit when I'm WRONG. First off the restaurant was a little busy, but the ppl behind the counter were super friendly. Someone kept changing their mind about their toppings and held up the line, but the employees didn't rush her or get annoyed. Surprisingly neither did the patrons. Also the restaurant was pretty clean. I did the build your own bowl w/ splendid greens/saffron rice, regular chicken, the veggie toppings, and the red pepper hummus. Let me tell you, that hummus is SPICY and DELICIOUS. It has the PERFECT flavor profile for my taste buds and paired perfectly w/ my bowl. I topped it off w/ some of their garlic sauce and the hot harrisa vinaigrette for the win! My only complaint is the juices were watered down (strawberry lime for sure). I also wished they offered black beans or garbanzo beans but if they don't it won't stop me from returning. I could eat this bowl a few times a week and not get tired of it...it was that good. I'd give it an 8/10 and yes I did taste it in their parking lot. I was expecting it to be closer to Salata's pricing, but I spent $13 for the bowl and a large drink so it's a little cheaper. I realllllly wanted to like this place. I kinda did. Let's start with the actual place, gives me Chipotle but Mediterranean vibes. Plenty of seating, inside and out. Order up and there's grains, greens, dips, proteins and toppings to choose from. I got a half grain and half green bowl with spinach and brown rice. I got the crazy feta, harissa and eggplant dips. The dips were pretty bland honestly. I got the falafel as my protein. The falafel wasn't dry so that's always a plus. I got the lemon herb tahini as the dressing. Overall it was decent but lackkkked flavor. I also got the strawberry citrus drink and it was delicious. For the price, could go heavier on the toppings. Today I Door Dashed Cava for the first time. I cannot speak to the restaurant or staff itself, but the food was fantastic! The bowl portion was very generous and all of the fillings were delicious. I'm really surprised and pleased at how flavorful everything was. The harissa chicken had the perfect amount of heat. Good hummus and delicious pita chips (think fried pita, not actual chips). Cava is really good. All my friends recommended it to me. The food is so good, serving size is always good. I was so glad I tried it. You customize your bowl so if you don't like a combination be open to trying another. The fresh pita bread and pita crisp are my favorite. I prefer Cava over Chipotle. Good concept but too pricey. It's like Chipotle meets Salata. First, too many choices and too many upcharges. With Salata, upcharges make sense. If you want Crab, Shrimp, Salmon, it makes sense to upcharge but up-charging because some sauce was added to grilled chicken makes zero sense. Also, preparers need to be trained better. Still using ingredient cards to make dishes made getting through the line long. I will not be going back. Can't see this place lasting more than 6 months.
