Cava! Good and Healthy!
Frankye J.

The food is always good and tasty! But you would want to take and go. I don't mind the noise but I prefer a clean and pleasant aesthetically place to dine. They need staff to clean the tables periodically and need to hire a handy man to cover large chip painted areas in seating area and floor.

I'm very pleased with our impromptu visit this evening. This despite walking into the location and immediately feeling the heat. I believe this was due to the extreme heat outside and the kitchen of course. The speed of the line was good considering the amount of patrons. I was in conversation with the customer behind me so I didn't pay attention when my husband ordered his meal. I placed my order taking advantage of the various fresh toppings available. The serving sizes are pretty generous. Ok so now for payment. I'm still partly ordering and partly in conversation with nice customer behind me. My husband pays. I grab the receipt as I normally do. It was then I notice his order. He does NOT do spicy. He had ordered the Harissa Avocado bowl with the sauce on the side. Great! But the receipt stated Harissa Honey Chicken. He didn't realize the chicken was Harissa. This was not good. I explained everything to the manager, Todd W. He first allowed my husband to taste some of the chicken and yes, too spicy! Right away he offered to redo the bowl. We were not charged. We are very thankful for that because otherwise dinner would have ruined. Thank you Cava! Thank you Todd! Until next time.

CAVA is always so tasty and filling... it's about 2 times the amount you'd get from Chipotle. Their steak and lemon tahini are the way to go. This location is clean, service was quick, and everyone was friendly.

Met up with a friend at this location for lunch. Normal Cava style establishment. In the university area. There are lots of parking spaces with plenty of seating inside and outside. The food is great and awesome. No complaints from this location at all.

Harissa Avocado Bowl, side hot harissa vinaigrette, a side peta, and side pita chips!

Dear indecisive customer, When choosing between Chipotle, Qdoba or Cava. Cava is always my top pick. My favorite portion is the Harissa Honey Chicken. Which is, a sweet and spicy flavor that my taste buds are absolutely in love with! Not only is the food delicious & healthy. Their drinks are just as refreshing, healthy, and satisfying!! My taste buds have decided the crazy feta spread is top tier as well!! **Try the Pita Chips too! They are to kill for! (Noo, not literally! You crazy! hehe,')**

Harissa Avocado Bowl - SPICY

I mean, you "cava" be kidding me!! - See what I did there?!? This gives me Mediterranean chipotle vibes! The set up is reminiscent of chipotle, you fall in line once you walk in and when you get to the counter you let them know what you want, your food is passed down to the cashier where you pay. I ordered two bowls; Balsamic Date Chicken - I ordered it as is with no additions or substitutions (grilled chicken, eggplant dip, red pepper hummus, corn, brown rice, spinach and balsamic date vinaigrette). This bowl was delicious, sweet and savory with a burst of flavor in every bite! - 10/10 Harissa Avocado - Ordered with no additions or substitutions (Harissa honey chicken +hot harissa vinaigrette, crazy feta, hummus, corn, Avocado, rice, super greens) This bowl was yummy as well but a bit too spicy for my liking, it was the one that came up as a favorite in the reviews, but again to spicy for me! - 7/10 The oatmeal cookie with dark chocolate and sea salt - 10/10 Also try their fountain drinks, unique flavors! I'm a fan of CAVA!!

We eat at Cava about once a month and LOVE IT! We Have been to University one, Birkdale, and South end stores! And also went to a few out of town when traveling. University had been a let down each time we go as this one is the closest to our home. Staff is not friendly and their Falafel is never fresh! As my husband and I are creatures of habit, we get the same thing EVERY TIME! Grains n Greens Super Greens Half the amount of each lentils/brown rice and have been doing it this was since the Birkdale location opened several years ago. The guys that opened that location really sold that place and did such a GREAT JOB getting that one started!!!! Well we were told for the first time EVER we couldn't do half and half by an employee and the manager Heather also backed her up and said we couldn't do it! Huge let down as I understand I couldn't have a full portion of 3 things but just wanted a little rice little lentils. They also make it very quickly and sloppily even though they weren't busy. Felt very rushed and as we we're annoying them by knowing exactly what we wanted as we make it the same EVERY-TIME! Might need a little TLC at this location probably will drive the extra time to get better quality food and nicer service! As $35 for 2 bowls should be up to par to the other locations.

I was in the University area around lunchtime, so I decided to stop at Cava for a lunch bowl. It wasn't crowded when I arrived so that was a plus, but since it was a nice day the outside seating area was crowded. Cava has a nice selection of meats, vegetables sauces, and cheeses to create a very tasty bowl. The vegetables are fresh and chicken was seasoned very well. The only downside to this restaurant was the inside dining area, which needed some TLC; there was food on the floor, napkins and dirty utensils on the floor as well and a sauce spill that was very displeasing to patrons dining inside. There was enough staff working to have someone come and maintain the dining area so it wasn't an eyesore for those dining in. One worker did come out to refill the messy utensil area, however she walked right past the spill on the floor and put a few more utensils in the holders, without wiping the mess around the utensil counter or the floor. Cava has really good food and I would hate to see them go under because of the untidiness of the dining area or the lack of care from the workers.

Ask the Community - CAVA

Is this halal?

I Googled it. It says the pita and meat in the lamb are but the spices used in the lamb are not certified. It goes on to say that none of the ingredients violates halal requirements. Hope this helps.

I have always taken a bowl. Do they offer any pita wraps?

Yes, however, they're not gluten free.

They had 4 people working: 2 doing prep, one just making online orders, and one doing in person orders. We arrived and it took 20 minutes for the 3 of us to get food with no one in line in front of us. I wouldn't think that it would take so long, but then I remember that usually places like this have the line split in half and sometimes a third person to ring orders up. By the time I got my food, there was a line of 15 people out the door, many of whom were from our conference and ended up leaving since we only have a 1-hour lunch break. The first 2 of us got a straight from the menu bowl, so it really should've been faster. I wanted a lamb bowl, but they didn't have any lamb (not having something in the menu at the beginning of a lunch rush immediately lost them a star) so I said I wanted to build my own steak bowl. The staff started automatically making me one of the menu steak bowls, so I continuously stopped them down the entire line and told them what I wanted. I think they were just confused, but it was irritating nonetheless. This place could've gotten 4 stars if they'd had lamb, 5 if they'd had lamb and had better service. I just can't justify going here unless you've ordered ahead because it took way too long.

I'm talking finger licking, scraping every piece of couscous and rice lol. The customer service is friendly. I've been at least 5x and each time I'm greeted with a smile. The portion sizes will last you at least 1-2 meals which is necessary if you're feeding boys/men or a hungry mama like myself! The prices are fair. I usually spend $14 here and that's sometimes with a drink included. Overall, I'd recommend Mezeh to anyone who like Mediterranean food or is in the University Area, looking for something good. And they have a solid rewards program. In January, they had BOGO. Now, after the discount was applied I did notice an up charge that the cashier couldn't explain but other than that, my experience has been 10/10.

I elected the fresh veggies(squash, carrots and broccoli) and fries. It was a little weird that my fries were served to me within minutes of placing my order. They were hot and seasoned well. By the time my chicken meal came the fries were gone. I was not sad as I was hungry but it was a little strange to me. The chicken was a good portion and great flavor. It was also served with a dipping sauce that resembled taziki sauce but not sure it was. Regardless it was tasty. This is a place I would go to again. They had a decent crowd as there was a buffet available if one chose. I stuck to the menu and stayed clear of the buffet. First time in NC but I was introduced to a "dine in" fee. They were busy with both dine-in and takeout orders. The salad was a great portion and for a little extra they added feta cheese to it for me. There is a 10% service charge for dining in (don't worry I added an additional 10%!)

The waffle was fine - Didn't look or taste like a fresh waffle but again it was fine. Those potatoes??? 10/10 - I could've just gotten those and would've been content since I'm an avid potato lover! The restaurant was busy but not overly so. They were able to seat us right away. There were lots of delicious items on the menu. My friends all got the salmon (two grilled and one fried). I got the crabcake because I just have to be different, I guess. They brought out cornbread muffins with honey butter that were delicious. They were really soft and cake-like and the honey butter topping was awesome. Two of us got side salads for our side and they came out with the meal, which isn't my preference but the food came out quickly any way so it was fine. The side salads were MASSIVE. Lettuce, cheese, tomatoes and onions (removed from mine) in a huge bowl. Probably could have been a meal to itself. The food came out and there was some confusion on sides that were mismatched and all of the salmons were grilled (instead of the one fried). Everyone really enjoyed their meal. I kinda wish I had gotten the salmon because it looked amazing and really well seasoned. The crab cake I had was good too. I think it had their Garlic Parmesan Cream sauce on top. The crab cake was big and had plenty of crab. I think I would have preferred a traditional tartar sauce on the side. I got their mac and cheese for my other side. It was super creamy and cheesy. It was also topped with the garlic parmesan cream sauce. Very tasty. Service was good. Not ton of visits to the table but I don't think we ever wanted for anything. My total with tip was about $40 and I think it was worth it for all the food I got. Would be a fun place to return too! Good job, Sol'Delish!

The crust was good, very crisp and the pizza is light with a little crisp to the dough, definitely not soggy. I had the French onion soup.... Unimpressed. I may be a French onion snob as I've been lucky to travel around the country and tried numerous soups (including in France). This was very average, I like the bread to be a little crispy, this was soggy, and the cheese, once I pushed into the soup. It all kind of gelled together. Like you can't get bites with other parts of the soup. I was literally using my knife to try and cut it apart so I could eat it in pieces and not one huge chunk. But it became too tedious and eventually I had to eat the cheese all together. I really liked the chicken wings, cooked well, I really enjoyed the bbq sauce. The wings are by far my favorite.
