Food is mediocre...fresh but not special. Customer service is substandard. If you catch the meat right off the grill or right after it's finished cooking, it can be really good! Let me start by saying that I love CAVA and the food is delicious - I order from here multiple times a week. However, this store messes up my to go/Door Dash order EVERY time I order. Today: my bowl is missing all my lettuce, my extra protein of Falafel, the pita crisps (aka the best part) and the piece of pita bread. DoorDash is usually able to refund me for the missing items, but someone at this store needs to know about the issue. I've also received someone else's bowl, 2 extra bowls I didn't order, etc. I haven't had any issues in store but something is not working with the to go orders. read more

When you call they hang up on you...they don't say anything......just pick up the phone and hang up. They did it 5 times in a row today. The food is good, but seriously not cool. I like the food, but this particular location just can't seem to get it together. The level of customer service here leaves much to be desired. I actually had the girl who was helping me on my last visit turn around and grab a piece of meat from one of the other employees that was carrying a bucket of it. She started eating it in the middle of her making my bowl, while we were waiting for someone to come replace one of the toppings that I was waiting for. This location often doesn't seem clean and also plays too much techno music, in my opinion. I do not intend to ever go back to this location. I do recommend the Cedar Park location though. I really enjoy all these fast casual dining places like Cava because you still get the experience of eating fresh food without having to wait too long & it's not as awkward to eat by yourself haha It was a little intimidating eating here at first because they have like 30 different toppings to choose from & I probably had never touched half of them in my life. But most of the toppings sounded healthy so I figured introducing new things to my pallet would be beneficial. They say you should eat a wide range of colors for your gut health. First you choose your grains (saffron rice, brown rice, lentils) or green to use as a base. Then there are 6 dips to choose from so I picked the eggplant + red pepper, tzatziki and Harissa. No idea what they were but the dips were like the glue to my bowl and really brought the flavor. After you pick a protein, I stuck with chicken because gains. My next favorite part is choosing as many toppings as you like. They have olives, quinoa, cucumbers, tomatoes, banana peppers, etc and you can top it off with a dressing. For the quality of food I ended up with the end, I thought cava was a super good change of pace of things and worth $10. read more

Cava has been a go to for me and my daughter (a vegan) en route to-from UT/west campus. Sadly, it has gone very downhill. I am fully aware of all the issues with supply chain and low staff. Went in, put daughter in front for a to-go bowl with falafel. She made her base and when she got to the protein, nope - there are NO FALAFELS (it's 11:15 am) -we don't have any - enjoy our grilled veggies instead. That's a No go as she has had that before and it was not good. (put a sign up in front of the line - falafels are indeed a mainstay of your menu and it should be on hand first thing in the am!). Guy literally tosses the bowl with rice/pita/greens back into some hidden spot at the beginning of the prep line. I'm up and debated leaving, but no, went ahead and got our staples, greek salad and a right-rice bowl, simple and easy. And a mess and small portioned. Flavor was okay, but when you don't get the volume of hummus, sauces, rice, it just doesn't do much to sate the hungry ones. I had the most of the pickled red onion, which I had to hand off to the greek-salad eater. Then my bowl was reduced to side serving size. BTW - we do see that the "scoop" used to portion out the hummus/tzaziki, etc it the size of a teaspoon. Chicken flecks didn't fill either. Hmmm. I hope everything improves again and, WL Cava, that you get the staff and the supplies, as well as the portions back up to snuff. For $23, we deserved 2 filling meals and it didn't happen. Cava food is great but this location is very annoying to order from. Multiple times we've placed a pickup order hours in advance for a specific time, and end up waiting nearly 30min to receive it. Even the pickup lines are extremely long and slow just like the line to order. Why order in advance and still have to wait an excessive amount of time? Great food but not great and slow location. Best to come during off hours if you want to receive your food in a normal time, and not waste time just standing around waiting. read more

One of my favorite places in Austin to eat at! This location has good parking. The downtown location parking SUCKS. Anyways, I usually order the grain bowl and they have lots of options for what to put on your bowl or salad. The drinks they have are so good! Beet lemonade is one of my favs and they also have a blueberry lavender and pineapple apple mint. The set up is like a chipotle. I definitely recommend this place! Shout out to Oz for being the best person ever. The food was great, but the experience was wonderful because Oz took great care of us. It really wasn't anything big -- he was just incredibly patient and kind and was eager to make sure we got exactly what we wanted. We came in at 9pm when the rest of the employees were working on closing duties, and he made sure to let us know not to rush as he hand delivered fresh pita bread to our table. It's really easy to get annoyed and impatient with clueless customers, especially at the end of a long day. I've been there for sure. But Oz was nothing but gracious the entire time we tried to fumble our way down the line. You're awesome, Oz. A great end to a great day. I hate to be a cliche, but we'll be back for sure! Very impressed with their offerings! So glad I decided to grab dinner from here and will definitely return. Plenty of options for vegetarians and vegans as well. They offer different types of bases including greens, grains, greens + grains, and pita. Also, if you were to get a non-pita base they throw in a pita for free. And for your protein, you have the option of adding falafel, grilled vegetables, and a variety of meats. They also offer a variety of add-ons and sauces!! Overall, it was nothing short of awesome!! And for $9, $10 I'd say you'd definitely get a bang for you buck as it is a lot of food. read more

It's not often I'm in Westlake, but Cava was good enough to bring me (near) downtown. Think of Cava as a healthy Chipotle. Pick a bowl or a pita, pick your protein and toppings, pick any sauces or sides. Ostensibly, everything on the menu is healthy; think kalamata olives, hummus, and my favorite, pickled onions! The downside is that it's very easy to build an 800-1000 calorie meal, and that's without dessert or a drink!. I found the crazy feta, pickled onions, and braised lamb to all be superb. The hummus was just middling, while the lamb meatballs were pretty dry. I was going to grumble about the prices, bowls start at $9.50 and go up from there, but I'm a grown ass man who was fresh out of the gym and I had a very tough time finishing an entire bowl. This Cava has tasty food but they give very little servings for the price that you pay for a bowl- For $15, you should get more in the bowl. When you ask the servers to add more to your bowl, they up charge you an additional $2. If you order for an online pick up, expect to get a very small bowl and the only way to get a decent serving is to be there in person when they are making your bowl. I know other locations serve more in their bowl and it doesn't seem like they are running out of food- management must be pressuring their employees to make as much as possible off of each customer and save as much food as possible. The Brodie location is way better! read more

Catered from here for a doctor's office that is health conscious. It was my first time and so I also enjoyed it for myself. It's basically a build your meal with 4 steps. A base (grains or greens or both), a protein, toppings and a dressing. So delicious! Would definitely go here on my own or continue to cater from them for those with dietary restrictions. read more

My 18 year old brother: "sometimes your choices are questionable but today's food was good." By "questionable" he refers to the time where we had to make a pit stop at a burger place after lunch at one of the more popular Ethiopian places around town. It's hard to please my brother/sister, and this place did so today. It's hard to please a giant family where the older generation wants authentic Chinese food and the younger generation wants burritos and burgers... but this place was good and customization, Mediterranean food a la chipotle style. I enjoyed this chain in Washington DC and I'm glad they're now in Austin! We came around 2pm on a Sunday -no lines. You get choice of grains/greens/lentils, choice of protein (roasted veggies option available), 3 scoops of hummus/Taziki/babaganoush and choices of pickled veggies/pita chips/dressing. The guy behind the counter was a bit stingy with the grains (adding by the half scoopful out of an already small scoop), but otherwise the food was on point. read more

I've only been to Cava once and I have to say it was a great experience. I picked the Greens and Grains Bowl. You can mix and match the proteins which is great. I got to pick three dips. The best dip in my opinion was the spicy hummus. You can add as many toppings as you like kind of like Chipotle. The price is really reasonable at under $10 a bowl. The place gets very busy at lunch but we still found a spot to sit. They have a bunch of novelty drinks but I didn't try any. I think I will try the pita bread next time I go. read more
