Went here first time today. We got the bowl with falafel and the mini pita with soup. Overall, it's below avg to average at best. The bowl was better than the pita and soup. You choose the ingredients much like chipotle. The quantity of food is tiny. I left hungry after paying full meal price. Unless you ask for something, you won't be offered - such as Pita with the salad, or rice, or lentils. I was especially disappointed with the Mini pita with soup. Soup was ok - it was tomato based but not much other flavor. Mini Pita was a joke, they put everything on top of the pita akin to a taco I guess, but you can't fold it or eat it with fork/knife. It was awkward. The chicken in the pita was all dark meat, and personally all dark chicken meat is no good in this dish. Overall, very disappointed. Some reviewers seem to forget that this is a fast food place and rate it to compare with a sit down- menu to table -restaurant, having said that, this is a great fresh and healthier option. The service wasn't overly friendly, but I'm not an overly friendly person either - I just want to pick my food out and eat it. I got the salad base with chicken, and whatever toppings I wanted. A little heavy on the dressing but I know next time to ask for light dressing. Other than that, it was pretty good and filling. It is a little pricey for the portion but I tend to get full quickly and I have still a decent portion left from my food to save for later (let's see how it holds up since it's salad). CAVA is great! I saw a few complaints about the food, paper straws, and waiting a long time. But thought the food was good and a large portion, you could save half of it for later. The paper straws I think are great because it is something I believe most places should be doing. Also, plastic straws are available if you ask. Super easy to order and the workers were very friendly and understandable given it was my first time there. Their suggestions really made the dish and I was happy to be able to do half chicken and half veggies. The portion was very filling and came with a free pita bread, which was a little dry to me. Recently tried this place and I really enjoyed it! The line was almost out the door so it's been really popular since they opened. I got the mixed green/grain bowl with falafel as my protein. The falafel was pretty good it seemed to have potato or something other than just garbanzo beans as it was a little more on the mushy side, but still good nonetheless. There were a lot of sauces and dressing options so that was also a nice change. Overall, I would definitely be back... only thing I would do for next time would be to ask for more dressing on the side. It definitely reminded me of Chipotle right away. It was all a bit confusing at first but we figured it out. The people that work here were really friendly, the food seemed fresh, they use paper straws, they have a different selection of drinks and teas (which I enjoyed, because sometimes you get a bit tired of the standard selection). The reason I'm going with four stars is because I'm not 100% if I'm into it. I liked it, don't get me wrong. But it was such an odd combination with all the sauces and hummus and all that. Went here for the first time tonight. We stopped in after a movie and was surprised to see them open until 10 in a Sunday. They were still fully stocked and the employees were energetic and friendly. Even though we were not familiar with the menu they were patient and helpful in making choices. We got a variety of menu items to go and loved everything we ate. It was fresh, flavorful, and very reasonably priced. They even had a creative selection of sodas and flavored waters on tap. I really can't say anything bad about the food, the staff or the facility. I absolutely love this place. It's basically a Mediterranean version of chipotle where you go up to the counter and tell them what you want on your pita bread or in your bowl. I tried the mini pita with chicken for $5 and by the time I got to the end of the stations it was overflowing with toppings. I loved the Mediterranean balsamic dressing was also a tasty addition.
