Missy was super nice and thorough and took the time to discuss my hair with me, make suggestions and listen to my concerns. She and Gia were so kind and did everything they could to make me feel comfortable, and I was really happy with my immediate results. Now that I have been here for the third time and I feel like what my old salon did to my hair color is behind me, I can truly say that my hair has never looked better. Missy is a master with color and cuts and Gia is so amazing and gentle with blowouts and styling that not only did I love my hair, but I also felt like I had just had a massage. I felt so much happier and better about myself when I left the salon, and I received more compliments on my hair yesterday than I did in all the years of going to my old salon. As a bonus, the shop itself is lovely, immaculately clean and fun. Missy has given me helpful tips as to how to care for and style my hair at home, has recommended products and has been honest with me about cut, color and styling suggestions to suit my hair and face. My hair came out a dark brown/near-black, where the inspo photo I walked through with the colorist is a warm caramel balayage with golden highlights, pretty light overall not this dark mess I have. But the worst part was what happened after. Before I even had a chance to process the results, staff started loudly asking me to pay in cash -- repeatedly, every few minutes, in front of a full salon. It was embarrassing and felt more like harassment than customer service. I shouldn't have to feel pressured and humiliated after dropping money on a service that didn't deliver. Won't be back. The appointment was for my 3 year old and I'm due to give birth with my 2nd in less than a week but I say no problem. The receptionist says great we'll see you in half an hour. I then come back in half an hour and I ask if the hair stylist is ready. The receptionist says no that she needs 5 more minutes but I can leave if I don't want to wait. This was pretty frustrating and I asked why they wouldn't just call me if she's running that behind and ask me to come later? The receptionist only mentioned that the stylist is just that busy. I wait another couple of minutes and ask again if the stylist is ready. At this point im tired of waiting and ask to get an actual estimated time she will be ready. I see the receptionist go up to the stylist and I see that the stylist is annoyed with the questions. I feel that when you have such a "popular" stylist that people should be better at scheduling their appointments for them. A phone call to say she's running an hour behind would have been great to receive, and the stylist could have taken 2 minutes to check in with me and see what can be done to accommodate me since I wasn't late. The stylist ran behind and should have tried to remedy the problem. At the end I left, it was obvious they didn't care for my business since the stylist is that popular. Overall I was very disappointed and won't return.

Upon arriving you can either park in front off Merrick Rd, or there is a parking lot and additional entrance in the back. I was scheduled with Victoria for a blowout - she was very friendly and easy to talk too, and most importantly, she listened to what I wanted! I initially wanted to try a blowout with curls, but let her know I usually opt for straight hair, so I may or may not like the curls despite my request to try something different. After curling my hair, which originally looked great, unfortunately the style itself was just not for me. She was very easy to provide feedback too and let me know her main priority was that I walked out happy. We worked together until the style was right, and I walked out loving my hair!!

I…read moreappreciated the time she took during my consultation to understand what the issue was, and listening to how we I wanted to fix it as well as making some suggestions. She did a great job blending the jump in the front of my hair with the rest of my hair by adding and shaping my layers. She made me feel extremely comfortable even though she was revising my cut. I would come back to see Jackie. First time here, it seemed great, got great reviews, some of my clients recommended them; they're right around the block from my job and were able to fit me in last minute for a cut. I left with a huge hole in my hair. My stylist kinda picked through the back of my hair really quick (not really looking at what I already had cut and layer wise) and sent me to the sink. I told her I wanted to keep it long, that I think the front of my hair is really thin and she said "yea whatever you want". I came to the chair and told her my goals were the style and length she had and she started cutting. She had me feel the back before cutting the front and the length felt good. Then she cut the left front side and I caught a glimpse in the mirror and now my entire front section was a bang because she had tried to cut an angle in the front and since I had choppy layers (which again she never looked at the front of my hair) throughout that entire front section was now the same length. Same thing with the right just not as bad because I part my hair away from that side. At the end when she was blowing me out I think she realized what she did because she kept on trying to camouflage it by blowing everything forward (which I never will where my hair that way). At the end when she was recapping what she did I asked if she was going to clean up my layers (because I think after cutting the perimeter and seeing what she did panicked and focused on the blowout) and she said she did. Which again every other haircut I've gotten even if I'm wet they pull the hair out to see what the layers look like and she never did that before cutting or while cutting. And then pointed out I "needed to let the front grow" and I said "because they're a huge step". She said yea it must be from the breakage from me pulling my hair back and I said "or the fact that I had choppy layers" and she said "yea or that, no one will notice besides me" and I said "I did" and thanked her paid and left. Now I've also noticed after my mother so kindly pointed out that the front sides aren't even even.There's really nothing I can do because obviously you can't glue hair back on, I'm just annoyed 1)because the obvious hole in my hair, 2) if she had taken two extra minutes to look at my hair it would have turned out better

I came the second time, I still didn't get what I had requested. I was very disappointed with the final result, especially considering the amount I paid. After expressing my concerns, I was told that the owner would reach out to me to address the situation. It has now been over a month, and I still have not received a call, message, or any follow-up whatsoever. I understand that things can happen and that not every service goes perfectly, but what really disappointed me was the lack of communication and customer service afterward. If a customer spends $402 on a service and is unhappy with the result, I believe their concerns should be taken seriously and addressed in a timely manner. I gave the salon the opportunity to follow up before leaving this review, but after more than a month of waiting, I feel that my experience deserves to be shared. I would not recommend spending this amount of money somewhere where there is no follow-up or accountability when a customer is dissatisfied.

My son came in for a simple haircut and was subjected to a very hurtful comment made about his appearance -- in Mandarin -- by the hairdresser. While the stylist may have assumed he wouldn't understand, the remark was understood and luckily my son was not hurt by it. When I called the salon to address the issue, the staff member denied it entirely, which made an already upsetting situation even more frustrating. There was no apology, no attempt to make things right, and no acknowledgment of the harm caused. A salon should be a welcoming space for everyone, regardless of background or appearance. Making derogatory comments about a customer -- in any language -- is completely unacceptable and unprofessional. I would not recommend this salon and hope management takes customer feedback seriously and holds their staff to a higher standard.
