I have followed my stylist for many years, through several salons. I had a 9:30 am appointment today. Due to some of their past shampoo girls soaking me, I changed into a plastic robe as well as the regular cape. The new shampoo girl still managed to get water down my back and into my pants. After my color and glaze treatment, I was left in a side chair until 11:10, which was quite a long time. The salon was busy - OK, I get it, but I had another appointment coming up. I saw my stylist finish with one customer, but then another customer was put in her chair ahead of me! My stylist worked on her for about 15 minutes, and then I was moved over. By now it was too late for me to get everything done, so I told my stylist that we can do the trim but not the blowout, as I had to get home for a Zoom meeting. She quickly trimmed me. Then she asked to dry me a little "so you don't go out with a wet head." I said OK but I've gotta go. She quickly dried through my roots, no styling, sprays or pampering. I tipped her the full tip amount, as usual. I got to the front desk, and the receptionist quoted the regular price! When I questioned her, she went and got the stylist, who verified the price. Absolute highway robbery. I got less than full service but had to pay full price - and I was late for my next meeting, and looked bad for the meeting. This is just the last straw in a long line of mess-ups at this salon. I'll be looking for a new salon immediately. read more

Came here for quick blow dry before vacation. The hair stylist Makayla was great. Very friendly and did fantastic job. Highly recommend her however the vibe of the salon is not pleasant. I specifically called in advance to find out cost of blow dry as I know certain salons upcharge for no reason. Just wash and blow dry,!!! I was quoted $30 over the phone but when I went to check out I was told $50. An increase of $20??? Due to me having longer than shoulder length hair. So would someone with short pixie hair length be charged $15 lol or clearly I was taken advantage off . I stood there for solid 10min while the front was trying to get organized. When I asked about the increase in price I was responded in a condescending answer. Regardless some shady shit. I am not the one to right reviews but for. A 5 min wash and basic blow dry was not evident of paying $50 when every other salon in merrick rd charges $35. After the specially asked price on the phone when making the appointment . Came here to do the magic sleek treatment. Really happy with the results (it's been a week since the treatment). The process for my just-below-shoulder-length hair was $300. It took about 3.5 hours, maybe just under. I brought a book to pass the time. The process itself isn't as intense as Japanese straightening, or even keratin. So far, I wake up with wavy beach like hair and don't have to do a thing! I straightened it flat once and it took me 10 mins (as opposed to the usual 30). I will definitely keep this up- such a great time saver and my hair feels so soft! Can't swim for two weeks after the process, and you can't highlight or bayalage your hair until two weeks after as well. Just an FYI that no one told me over the phone when I booked it, but no issue for me. read more

I love this salon. I recently switched to this one after a couple of bad experiences and my long time hair dresser moving out of the area. I heard about Little Maria at this salon from my daughter and have had her do my hair twice so far. She's fast, efficient, professional, and really good at what she does. They are great about fitting you in last minute even though they are SUPER busy. My hair looks great and the salon is clean, and bright.
