Lisa, the owner, is extremely welcoming and easy to talk to... she knows the business and makes you feel very comfortable. Christina did my blowout perfectly (and so quickly!!). I was so impressed. She didn't put a crazy amount of product and took great care of my hair. I'm pretty particular because my hair has a lot of heat damage, but she nailed it. The blowout was $25!! She claimed she was just "thinning" my daughter's hair but took shears and chopped so close to the scalp that she left her with visible bald spots and blotchy patches that look like a bad buzz cut. This wasn't a trim or layering this was butchering her hair. What's worse is that my daughter was too afraid to speak up in the moment, but I'm not staying quiet. She also didn't realize the extent of damage that was done.I don't know where these people got their licenses, but judging by the mess Rachel left behind and the pattern in other reviews they should consider going back to cosmetology school. I have many friends in the cosmetology field and they were even frightened by the results. We even left a generous tip (which I now regret more than anything). The level of incompetence does not match the prices they're charging. If you care about your hair or your child's confidence, stay far away from this place.

The appointment was for my 3 year old and I'm due to give birth with my 2nd in less than a week but I say no problem. The receptionist says great we'll see you in half an hour. I then come back in half an hour and I ask if the hair stylist is ready. The receptionist says no that she needs 5 more minutes but I can leave if I don't want to wait. This was pretty frustrating and I asked why they wouldn't just call me if she's running that behind and ask me to come later? The receptionist only mentioned that the stylist is just that busy. I wait another couple of minutes and ask again if the stylist is ready. At this point im tired of waiting and ask to get an actual estimated time she will be ready. I see the receptionist go up to the stylist and I see that the stylist is annoyed with the questions. I feel that when you have such a "popular" stylist that people should be better at scheduling their appointments for them. A phone call to say she's running an hour behind would have been great to receive, and the stylist could have taken 2 minutes to check in with me and see what can be done to accommodate me since I wasn't late. The stylist ran behind and should have tried to remedy the problem. At the end I left, it was obvious they didn't care for my business since the stylist is that popular. Overall I was very disappointed and won't return.

When she was unavailable for an appointment, I went to Metromodes because I was a loyal customer. They told me the keratin would last 3 months and upsold me on some special brand. I said "no, don't worry, last time I got it, it lasted 10 months" Literally it's the end of July, it's been 2 months, and my hair is a WRECK. I have a severe disability and am unable to work. That $300 was a Christmas present that I saved for 5 months with the intention of the treatment lasting about a year. It's absolutely Disgusting. Unethical. Dishonest. Amoral. I am SO disappointed with a salon that I trusted, and will have to save for months to get my hair done again by an honest hair dresser.

Hair Effex doesn't have a private lot, but the nearby municipal lot is more than likely to have a spot, and it's free. If street parking is more your thing, you might be able to snag something.
