I had a dress with huge puffy long sleeves that I wanted removed so I could wear it in florida comfortably. The owners were very friendly and had my dress completed in a timely manner. I love it and got so many compliments

The owner and seamstress is a lifesaver!! I brought in a cheaper bridesmaid dress to have hemmed when the bridesmaid dress I wanted to wear was too tight. She told me to put the tight dress on and said she could fix it to fit me better when she saw it on me. Four days before the wedding! She knew it was a much better quality dress and while I didn't think there was any hope to wear it, she made it happen!! It looked perfect and I was over the moon she did such incredible work so fast for me. I wouldn't hesitate to bring anything else I needed altering to her.

Terrible quality work at best. This woman is a complete SWINDLER. Your clothes will be ruined! I am standing up in a wedding & needed my bridesmaid dress hemmed. I found Causeway Alterations on Yelp & selected them based on the good rating/reviews I read. That being said, I'm writing this review so others don't have the same experience I did. I should've went with my gut, and left within the first 20secs upon entering Causeway Alterations. She told me I had a beautiful dress and proceeded to ask if I was the MOTHER of the bride or groom. Sidebar-Most people think I'm in my mid-20's. So at this point I thought she's just rude. I let that go because I need this dress altered.... Causeway Alterations is a "cash only" business and doesn't give receipts, which is already incredibly inconvenient. I was charged $90 to HEM this bridesmaid dress (2 total layers, which included a chiffon overlay). The pictures speak for themselves, but Incase you don't look at those-the quality of Causeway Alterations is nothing but awful. Loose threads (all over) snags EVERYWHERE, UNEVEN hem lines, threading falling apart, and it was MORE wrinkly than when I dropped it off. The woman claimed to have steamed the dress, but this dress was clearly NEVER steamed. I saw another review that she didn't use the correct thread color-GUESS WHAT? She didn't match the thread color for my dress either. The dress is a rosewood pink and she used a whitish/light pink. I mentioned the dress was NOTICEABLY UNEVEN (the right side is shorter than the left)--she was PULLING down on the right side telling me "no hunny it looks perfect". No, it absolutely does not. I questioned why it wasn't touching the floor (it's a FLOOR LENGTH dress & my shoes are NOT supposed to show, but they do now and obviously there's nothing that can be done about that because she cut too much material off the bottom. She's like, well I did it shorter so you don't trip on it. WHAT?! STAY AWAY & don't waste your money here.

Wonderful people! Great work. Everything turned out perfect and was delivered on time and she even called me a day before to let me know ready early. I would trust her with any special piece! One dress was very complicated and she made the perfect recommendation to make it work. HAPPY CUSTOMER!

My alterations were done quickly and professionally. I had an additional repair on a sweater that she did a great fix on it.

A little gem near the Dunedin causeway. Fairly priced with excellent service. Sweetest couple. Will definitely return.

Fred's Tailors

Fred's Tailors

I had a simple task before me...get two pair of umpire pants hemmed. I visited his shop (a one man…read moreoperation) and Mr Fred immediately greeted me and asked a few very pointed, specific questions about protective equipment, etc. Long story short, the questions told me he knew exactly what he was doing. He also made sure I had my shirt tucked in ("it makes a difference" said Fred) and that I had the proper shoes with the proper pair of pants. So I stood up on the little podium and he had 'em each marked in about 15 or so seconds flat. He asked me when I needed 'em; I wasn't in a particular hurry so he gave me a six day turn. I tried on each pair once I picked 'em up and they're perfect! Not only is he a very good tailor but a gentleman as well. He is affable and friendly with a neat, well organized shop. It's plain to see he takes pride in his craft and has a great work ethic. So if you need any kind of alterations or tailoring performed on your clothing, this is the fellow to see. You don't find old school workmanship like this in too many places anymore. If you like that, then Fred is your man. I finish by leaving three caveats before you visit. 1. He charges in advance for the work he performs. 2. He only accepts cash and Zelle. 3. His services AIN'T cheap. That said, Fred is probably the best tailor I've ever used. I say that as I own three suits, a tuxedo and coattails plus a number of custom shirts. It never really struck me to rate a tailor on Yelp up to this last go-round. However now that I have, I truly know that Mr Fred is about as good as they get!

Fred went the extra mile to ensure our treasured bag was fixed up as good as new. 10+ years ago, on…read morea business trip to Milan, we visited a local unique shop called 10 Corso Como. I bought this unique fabric bag and have used it for many things, latest of which is for bringing stuff to yoga sessions! After years, the seams started to come undone so I popped by to chat with Fred. I told him how important this bag was and why and he agreed to fix it up for a very reasonable price. Fred went the extra mile and reinforced every seam in the bag and told me we were good for another 20 years! Fred also fixed the belt loop on a pair of jeans but they don't have sentimental value to me. Still, he did it perfectly! Life is a good with a local craftsman who does his best work for you!
