Absolute best filet mignon I have ever had!! I am not much of a meat eater, But every now and then I will eat filet mignon. I usually use A1 but not this time. I feel like It would have ruined this piece of meat. I could cut it with a fork and the taste was superb!!!! Very well done Cattleman's Restaurant. I will be back on my next trip in towm!!! read more

Ive eaten here a couple times already and every time I come, the food isn't that great. The service is pretty good, but the rest is ok.

Just giid food. Salad, bread, steaks, chicken, ribs, and great desserts. . Bacon wrapped grilled shrimp was amazing. . One of my favorite places to eat. . No frills. Just great food and always consistent. . read more

If you love cumin on everything you eat, this is the place to go. I had the ribeye and the seasoning overpowered the natural flavor of the beef. I ordered it medium rare and still found it to be a little tuff to eat. It wasn't horrible. Its just not what I expected. My kids all had chicken and found the same to be true with the chicken. The baked potato was really dry. Service was decent. read more

My first time here Pedro was my server he was so nice and funny!! My steak was really good and tender and the twice baked potato is a must try! I always drive by this place on my way to and from work and finally decided to give it a try, Can't wait to bring my father in on Father's Day!! read more

Have been here twice in two months, both time had amazing customer service. The second visit we did encounter a couple problems with the three of the steaks but they fixed it right away without a problem!! Now sure the male managers named October 11th, but he kept the kids entertained and was so welcoming and friendly. read more

I give this restaurant one star because ginger beer, the complimentary bread, and the honey-chipotle corn on the cob were delicious. That was the only highlights of the evening. If not for that, I would have given this establishment zero stars. Firstly, we were seated in a reasonable amount of time but waited quite some time for our order to be taken. After placing our order, we waited nearly an hour for our food to arrive. We were a party of five so I knew that it would take a little more time but the two booths across from us came after us, received their food before us, and left before us. I ordered the steak and shrimp with vegetables and it arrived cold. Also, my waitress kept asking me if I wanted a refill on my drink but didn't tell me that I would be charged for each one. She also gave me a choice of vegetables and I chose the sautéed mushrooms. That was also extra which she failed to tell me. I paid for the bill and already disappointed in the experience, decided to review my receipt when I got home. That's when I realized all of the extra charges. This place came highly recommended to me and I was utterly disappointed with the service that I received. read more

My husband and I went to Cattlemens on Saturday evening. It was our first time dining at this restaurant. Although the restaurant was quite busy our wait time to be seated and our food arrival time was amazing. Our server Stefan was great. He was very attentive and kept our drinks flowing. My husband and I both ordered the Rustler ribeye and it was absolutely amazing and so flavourful. The manager David stopped by our table to check on us and make sure everything was fine. He is great guy and quite funny. I highly recommend Cattlemens and we will definitely be returning. read more

Went here with my parents after an interview in Visalia. The decor is fun and kitschy with an old western feel. My dad and I got the prime rib, which was excellent, and my mom got the loaded potato soup which she said was tasty as well. We ended our meal with the fried apple pie which was FANTASTIC! It had a perfectly crispy crust, wasn't oily, and was nice and warm and went well with the ice cream it came with. Also, this would be a fun place for a birthday or other event- my mom got them to come by and sing me a congratulations song for my interview, and it all came with a cowboy hat and an extra scoop of ice cream! Overall, great meats, excellent desserts, and fun venue! read more

Iv been coming here for a couple times now but this time was just a little bit different. Our waitress Jessica Gomez was beyond awesome. She was patient and allowed us to try a couple of samples of wine before buying the bottle. This was my first time trying wine at a restaurant with my girlfriend but she helped us out by letting us try it. We ended up choosing Rodney Strong Merlot which was a good recommendation for our meal. The food was quick and tasted awesome as well. Thanks you again Jessica. The next time we come down we will make sure to ask for you. read more

Very disappointed for our first visit. Two hours for us to get our food because our waitress Amanda forgot to put it in. I'm not sure how training works for this restaurant , but you should be keeping track of your tables and how long the food should take . Now as for the owners of cattleman's you should look into management training. As a manger myself of a restaurant let me give you a few tips. You should of offered a free appetizer when you apologized, second you should of made sure our food was Hot after our issue. You already took a hour and a half too cook it and it's cold when it comes to the table? The poor baked potato looked like it was ready to become a chip. Why did we wait longer to have Amanda fix her mistake and it arrives cold . Steak looked like beef jerky , burgers was obviously done first so it sat in the window getting cold waiting for the other 5 plates. Then they wanted us to pay for a meal that could of been cooked better at McDonald Instead of apologizing and comping and giving us voucher to come back. You want to fix your problems and make the customer want to come back . That way you can have them come back and have a good experience. It's not a big deal to comp food , if my steak wasn't cooked right would you have took it back to the kitchen ? I would hope not with covid! You would comp it for your food cost and start over . The chubby man from the back spent to much time arguing just making the situation worse, and still comping it . What manger argues with a customer when your staff is in the wrong. The female manager handled the complaint from across the table and didn't know how to fix the problem. Management is just embarrassing. My family always visit and bragged about how delicious the food . It was definitely a miss for us first timers , I understand places are short staff so think about making those 6 hosted standing around cooks . read more

We made a reservation to celebrate my Moms 61st Birthday on Sunday the 17th I have to admit everything from the service to the food was simply AMAZING!! I had a New York steak and my mom had the prime rib. I believe my Servers name was Diana thanks for such great service. read more

I've been going to Cattleman's since I was little. This is always my go-to for special occasions and birthdays. I travel from Fresno just to have their steak. Hands down the best steak preparation in the valley. Their steaks are grilled and seasoned so perfectly that they don't require steak sauce! They have weekday specials that are always a very good deal too. read more

I went back last night even though my last visit in July 2019 was a little disappointing, so the only reason for my return last night was because my little sister wanted to go there for her first visit. Two stars given was because we arrived 1/2 hr as soon as they opened, we were seated immediately & staff was somewhat friendly. When our food was ordered we asked that my sister's steak be cut up because my sister is disabled and doesn't have use of her right hand. Her food arrived and the steak wasn't cut as requested so I cut it for her, then we asked for server to bring A-1 sauce which wasn't delivered for almost 10 minutes by that time her steak was cold. It took quite sometime for waitress to ask if we wanted more salad, the beans that they initially served us was such a small portion for 4 adults to share which I may add weren't tasty as years before. My lemon pepper chicken which I also ordered in July was the same disappointment....very dry and also small. I remember going to Cattleman's years ago and they were outstanding, today not so much. I'd rather stick to the steak places here in Fresno. read more

We are from Wisconsin and were looking for a good place to eat. Cattlemans was highly recommended online and from the front desk of our hotel. The service we received was unprecedented. Every single staff member was attentive to EVERY patron in the restaurant. The management was so on top of things yet calm and courteous to staff. On top of that the food was excellent and made to order perfectly. We could only wish to have this type of experience where we live. We hope all the locals in Selma appreciate the little gem they have right in their back yard. Kudos to all the staff at Cattlemans read more

Food was great, service not so good. Our waiter asked what our sides would be, so I asked what sides it came with. He gave me some options and I said I would have the twice baked potato. He charged us extra and we didn't find out till the end because he didn't tell us that it was an "upgrade" and almost all of us got the same thing, so it was like thirty dollars extra. read more

Had wonderful service by Jessica G. Steak was cooked to perfection with a lot of flavor. Fresh bread and a wonderful family style salad.

Just had dinner. It was one of the best steakhouse I've been to in a long time. Had the cowboy ribeye. It was done great. The service was excellent, our server didn't hover over us but was there when we needed him. Great salad and bread. I have read some of the negative reviews and they must have eaten at a different place or are real hard to please. Thank you Cattlemens Steak house for a very good meal. We will be back. read more

Drove all the way out here from Madera because i wanted to try their porterhouse.....which was sold out when we got there. Place was not packed at all so i wonder how can they run out of a signature steak. So i settled for the T-bone and it was cooked perfect. Margarita was on point. They did mess up by bringing my wife a baked potato instead of the mashed but they brought out a plate for her. I will probablbe back but i don't know when. Just don't want to be disappointed again which was the case when she told me they were out of the porterhouse(basically the reason i made the 40 minute drive) read more

Cattelmans - What has happened to this once favorable steakhouse? Friday June 10, 2018, at 5:45 PM, my wife and I sat in the bar so we could have a drink and a good meal while watching game 4 of the NBA Championship game. We immediately found a table in the bar and sat down. After what seemed to be 10 minutes a waitress greeted us and took our drink order We ordered a draft beer and a Berry Margarita concoction special they were advertising on the table. 10 to 15 minutes later we received our "average" drinks as well as menus. The waitress then told us, as she set our drinks down, another waitress would be by to take our food order. After 20 minutes the other waitress greeted us and took our food order. I ordered the bone-in ribeye-medium, my wife ordered the triple threat brochette-well (steak kabobs). We both ordered the salad with our meal. Seriously it took 20 MINUTES to bring us a bowl of salad & our dressing. Then just as we've prepared our salad and taken one, maybe two bites... a third waiter-busboy brings us our dinner order. I told him, we just got our salad. He didn't get the clue and set our plates on the table then walked away without saying a word. We finished our salad, because I enjoy Cattelmans salad, then I cut into my now room temperature steak. It was well done, dried out and had no seasoning. Literally the worst steak I've ever had. It took so long to get this sub-par steak the game was nearly over. (NBA Games playoff games average 2.5 hours) I WILL NOT be back. read more

The wait on a Friday or Saturday night is brutal. We agreed to a 60-minute wait, and that was the most wasted time of my life. It turned out to be an 80-minute wait. There were tons of empty tables, so hubs gave a piece of his mind to the manager, who was steadfast that they have to keep up reservations of large parties and whatnot. Just be honest with your guests when you estimate the wait. I struck up a conversation with another party and they were so ready to head to Carl's Jr's or something because it was just ridiculous. The food is good though. Not outstanding, but good. Not worth an 80-minute wait. read more

Steak was very tender cooked to order, be ready to take a doggie bag. Salad was great you get to mix your own in bowl and dressing comes on the side. Potatoes melt in your mouth. Service was spot on only negative bacon wrap shrimp too done burnt read more

A bit disappointed. I met an old friend passing through there. I had the Tri-Tip Sammie. It wasn't bad but in a joint called The Cattleman's, it wasn't as impressive as it should be. Accompanying fries we hard and dry. The iced teas was OK. read more

The food was amazing, but it was really busy so we waited a little longer for our food

Service was great and the food very tasty. The beef ribs had very little meat not the usual order. We tried Happy Hour and were very disappointed. Didn't really care for their Happy Hour appetizers. Our tiny watered down Margaritas were sent back. My favorite Happy Hour Margarita is a full size $5 Rita from El Torito yummy!!! Management needs to try theirs so they know what a good Rita tastes like. read more

I don't usually order steak from restaurants when I can cook them at home myself, but the prime rib here has always been excellent. The crust is well seasoned and flavorful while the meat is tender and juicy; a superb compliment to each other. Beyond the meat, the appetizers are always a fun treat and the sourdough bread is delicious and inviting as a starter to the main course. The service here is great as well as everyone has always been warm and friendly. Overall, Cattlemens of Selma is a great steakhouse to treat yourself to! read more

Visiting from out of town and stop by a steakhouse. Was told by locals that cattlemen's was the best in town. First thing first, they are a pack house so being unable to fulfill requests at a timely manner is understandable, but after multiple requests and still no results looses a star. Secondly, the food takes a long period of time till it is brought out, 30-40 mins. Is understandable but waiting longer is ridiculous. Lastly, the food was subpar. We might of came on an off night, but I give them the benefit of the doubt. Overall, I see potential but as far as a good steakhouse. I advise to check elsewhere. We literally went to a burger joint after. read more

Went there to have a birthday dinner with some co workers. I overall had a horrible experience. First off i made a reservation at 730 when i first arrived i was told my party had already checked in. Well some of my party was there but no one had checked in, instead they gave our call buzzer to someone i didn't know when that was taken care of i waited and waited, our party wasn't seated till a hour later. So don't see the point of making a reservation if you still have to wait a hour to be seated. Second when the plates of food came out everyone was a little confused due to the fact that we all had the same potatoes and not everyone ordered the same. When speaking to the waiter whos name is Nicholas he gave a attitude to two of the people at our table and told us well they were out of potatoes. So if he knew this why did he not come out to see if someone wanted something different then what they just threw on our plate as a consolation piece. When another party received their steak it was raw and cold when he spoke to the waiter about it the waiter laughed about it. My significant other didn't receive their garlic fries and i had one drink the entire night and was never acknowledged on the fact that i needed a refill. Third when i called to speak to the "manager" Ignacio Ruiz he said the potatoes was his fault but didn't acknowledge his waiter having a attitude with the table and instead made excuses. He further proceeded to lie to me and tell me that when my party arrived that they didn't want to sit at the table and instead sit at the bar. He also stated that my party member was so mad that he almost hit the waiter which again was another lie. When i asked him who is boss was because he was lieing and giving me the run around he said he was the boss and i said ok well who is the owner and he stated if you want that then go to the website. I will never visit this place again. You pay that much for food you would expect better service on that food and service in general. Management has a i don't care attitude which has trickled into the staff members. I work in a customer service job and i know how things can be but this all the way around was horrible. read more
