This place is great if you love delicious appetizers and their freshly made bread and butter. The Artichoke Cheese dip was off-the-charts tasty, and the bread and butter filled us up before the main dish even came! Not to say that their main dishes are bad, but I have had better baby back ribs and filet mignon, they are still really good but not the best. The waiters are sweet, accommodating and fast, and made us feel comfortable and were very attentive. ( Those ladies can carry some mighty big trays, its impressive). I would go and drive out here just for the mind-melting artichoke cheese dip. read more

Good steak, artichoke cheese dip is a must. Live 2 minutes away. Come here often. Some days are good and some are ehh. Overall a good place tho. read more

So a group of us came in here for dinner last night. We had reservations, and were seated very quickly. Our server was amazing the entire night! She really stayed on top of things, and made sure that we always had anything we needed. Now lets talk about the meal... The bread and butter is delicious, the salad was also fresh and tasty, the sides were very good, but the steak here was fatty and flavorless. 3 out of 4 of us agreed that the steak seems to be their one Achilles heel. That is kinda sad for a steakhouse. My husband did enjoy his lobster a lot, and said it was much better than his steak. This is my third visit to this location and aside from the amazing, hard working server, and the decent sides, there really isn't anything very special to make such a long drive for. Pretty much the same quality as Cool hand Lukes, or Tahoe Joes. read more

Food here is actually pretty good for the options you have in Selma. Good bar menu also with many inexpensive options if you're looking for a decent happy hour meal. Drinks are expensive if you don't order the happy hour specials but the happy hour appetizers are cheap and decent sized. Overall I wouldn't go out of my way to recommend this place but you could do a lot worse in Selma. read more

My wife and I were deciding to try a place that serve steaks of all kinds. Soo I heard from a friend of mines that he recently had steak at Cattlemen's. I mentioned it to my wife and we stop by to check it out. My wife ordered her New York steak with shrimp and I decided to try their Cowboy Steak, medium well. It was 20 oz bone in Rib Eye Steak, Grilled to perfection and quite juicy. I was so satisfied I had to eat half and finish the Chipotle Honey Corn. That's was also good. The staff and waiters were quick on taking our orders and our food didn't take long at all to receive. We have no complaints on any of their service. We would definitely stop by again for dinner. read more

So to start my family about 15 of us drove in 45 mins...the drinks; margaritas, cowboy lemonade, lemon drop, all very tasty with a good amount of alcohol. My appetizer was Calamari and it was very salty. Tuesday special T-bone steak was unavailable, apparently they ran out which I read in other reviews too so they really need to adjust their inventory or change their special. Salad with all the toppings and options for dressings with warm sour dough bread was great, they brought out plenty for the whole group. I almost got full just on that. I ordered the ravioli which was delicious, ravioli was stuffed with cheese and had sautéed bell peppers, onions and broccoli& cauliflower in a yummy red sauce. Our hostess was amazing he was friendly and attentive, he kept up with the requests and kept an upbeat demeanor. The servers helping him not so much, they seemed annoyed. They sang happy birthday and gave my sister cake and a cowboy hat which was very nice. read more

Best steakhouse I've ever been to great service and the food is amazing. I had the baby pork chop ribs and a twisted baked potatoe. I was full before my food came, they have delicious sour bread and butter along with salad while you wait. The waitress was very attentive to anything we needed. For dessert I had the raspberry cheesecake it was delicious. It's a great place to eat with family and friends definitely coming back soon back. 10/10 recommended read more

It was my first time here and my server Jess G did a phenomenal job! She was really sweet, and really patient. She gave great recommendations! The busser, Gabe was on point with water refills! They both had great attitude! The food was delicious and came out very quickly. I will definitely be returning and asking for Jess to serve me again. read more

This steakhouse is great, from the service, attentive server and hosts. I decided to go here with a friend and the hosts were kind and we were seated quickly. It wasn't a long wait at all with the pager system. The atmosphere is more than iexpected, with a rustic cowboy feel, in which you can tell, that was the purpose. When we ordered it was prepared exquisitely along with the appetizers. I didn't get the steak, but i went with the shrimp instead and it was very good, a tad dry but good nonetheless. I would like to try the steak next time and see how moist it is. read more

this was my first time at Cattlemen's and it had been years since my sister and her husband has been there. we were presently surprised but the amazing food, service, atmosphere, and prices. we will go again!!!! thank you Johnny for your great service. I never give anything a full rating because there is always ways to improve, but I have to give Cattlemen's 5 stars. read more

I had a wonderful dinner at Cattlemans. I was a single guest faced with a 40 minute wait and the referred me to the bar where I had wonderful service by Lacey. Even though she was extremely busy she was extra attentive and made sure my experience was wonderful. The rib eye was awesome with a great char. All in all my dining experience was wonderful and Lacey made big difference! read more

We went there 6/23/21 with 2 friends. Our server was new and obviously untrained. The food was a disaster. The coffee came ice cold, the tumbling onions were burnt. My friends ribs were ice cold. the baked potatoes were not fully cooked and were not even warm enough to melt the butter. I ordered the end cut prime rib, what I got was a thin cut of prime rib (not the end) that was dry and extremely overcooked. The worst part was when we tried to explain this to the manager, he acted like he could care less. It will be quite awhile before we will try this place again. read more

I had psyched myself up for a delicious and juicy steak from my favorite Steakhouse Cattlemens. But what ended up happening was disappointment after disappointment. Our waiter was done for the day, so service was sub par. Long story short for that price nobody should leave hungry or disappointed. I would have gone home hungry and disappointed if it had not been For Mariah. Mariah made it as pleasant as possible. We all went home in a good mood after spending only 10 min with her. She is definitely an asset to this Company and we feel that she deserves to be recognized. Mariah I want to say Thank You! For making My day a pleasant one. read more

Yes sirrrr-eee!! Beyond satisfied is the box I'm check marking!! We have been here countless times, this is my 1st review though haha.. Hostesses had excellent attitudes, all smiling and eager to help apon checking in! Music was at a comfortable volume, was nice inside no need for jackets nor sweaters for that matter, very rustic and old western themes ran true and true. Server was in good spiritsand knowledgeable, JOSH was his name. He didn't skip a beat when we informed him that the other 3 in our party where not going to make it (car troubles). He brought us 2 servings of fresh baked sour dough while we waited. Salads where crisp and tasty, dressings chilled and delishes. I ordered the SHERIFF, My favorite here, 32oz Goliath of a steak, Medium Rare ofcourse, w/baked Potatoe all the fixings!! Niki ordered a Monster fresh ground burger, with a heaping helping of crumbled blue cheese, jalapeños, small crisped onion rings onna ciabatta roll w/fries mmm mmm! Amazing! Needless to say after the bread and salads we barely put a real dent in our dinners haha.. In other words, I fought the SHERIFF and the SHERIFF WON!! Till next we meet Cattlemens!! We first came to Cattlemens when we moved here and we were impressed. My steak was actually cooked more than I would have liked and when I mentioned this the staff immediately took action. A lot of apologies, a new steak cooked perfectly, AND the chef came out to apologize and bring my meal! Excellent way to handle the situation! read more

My family and I came here on a Saturday night about two months ago after my brother played a basketball game, and we had a good experience. We called ahead and were seated almost immediately once we arrived, which was great. The atmosphere was cool, the food was absolutely delicious, however the service could've been better. The food was a little pricy, but it was great, especially the lamb! But overall a good experience, I would definitely recommend!!! read more

Overall the spot was good..lobster was over cooked but the steak made up for that! The bacon wrapped shrimp was also good, but over cooked..but good. The ambiance is cozy. Srvc. Was good as well no major complaints! Good spot! read more

They don't give you the steaks you order. Twice I order and there is always an issue. The service it's horrible, they need to do retraining on the staff including the management in how to deal with customers. I won't come back here. Time to look for a different steak house. Make sure you know your cuts of meat well because they will give you something else. read more

Wow, the quality of both the service and the food has really declined. Made reservations two weeks in advance and yet they seated us in the bar, right at the entrance where there was tons of noise and traffic. Gee, thanks for that. Our server was nice but constantly had to be reminded that we needed more plates, more silverware, that one person had not been asked their order. Never got water refilled. They ran out of prime rib at 7:15 pm. Really?! Ordered the Rustler Ribeye which was supposed to come with onion straws on top: none present. Potato and steak were lukewarm. Steak ordered medium, arrived bloody and was tough. It was supposed to be a "marbled ribeye" but it was not even close, tasted like sirloin. I can buy a ribeye at Save Mart and grill it myself and it is waaayy better. The bread was good, the best part of the meal, but for crying out loud, cut the damn pieces all the way through so we don't have to manhandle the thing to get a slice, especially when we are a party of 7! One basket of bread and one bowl of salad delivered for a table of 7 people, no more offered. Entrees were brought before we were done with the salad. Dirty entree plates and leftover appetizer plates not cleared even by the time dessert was brought out. The server also did not explain clearly the dessert options for those sharing a "dinner for two" and so extra desserts were ordered that were not part of the deal and were not wanted. Just poorly executed food and service. Also, the information they have posted on their website and on Yelp is inaccurate: no patio dining despite repeated inquiries and it being in multiple areas online and on the voice recording you get to listen to when you call. Update your information, Cattleman's! Also, seating between parties was way too close and overall restaurant capacity was way too high for COVID compliance. Will not be returning. read more

For the second time we had horrible service, food was sent back and it took so long didn't get to eat because the rest of the party was done so disappointed. Won't be back it's really gone down hill read more

This place was my favorite place to eat!!! I use to brag about this place so much.. but over the last couple of years it has started to decline.. the food for the most part is consistent but the hiring of staff that are young and don't seem to give to many cares at all is hurting this place. No attention to detail.. dirty silverware and plates.. not knowing the menu. Appetizers are very small and lackluster!! The prices have gone up but quality has gone down.. how's that possible? I wish things would go back to the way it was.. when it could compete with a Ruth Chris or Fleming's, because I felt the service I use to get excelled that. read more

I love Cattlemens and live in Dixon and have been going to the one there for a few years. It never disappoints. This past weekend, as I was traveling down to visit family in Tulare I saw that there was a Cattlemens in a small town called Selma. I stopped by and was not disappointed but was so impressed by the hospitality the waitress showed. Jessica G. was so kind and down to earth. I wish she worked at the Cattlemens in Dixon so that I could see her more often. I hope to stop by whenever I go visit family again and I will recommend it to my friends whenever they travel down. read more

Awesome food, service and atmosphere. We had ribeye, sirloin and filet mignon. Each cooked to perfection! Our server Thomas was excellent! Engaging, gracious, friendly and attentive! Definite 5 stars! Thank you neighbor, Pam, for the recommendation! read more

Stopped by to try this on the way home from a trip. Food was good, I did order a chicken plate. For me personally since I'm not a beef eater, I would personally choose to go somewhere else. Not a fan of the sourdough bread they give, it's not the softest. My husband highly likes cattlemens though, he said the meat was very good. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. Not only were numerous plates of ours dirty. A couple of forks had lettuce stuck to them. Aside from us having an absolutely horrible time the last time we were here where we waited an hour and half for our meal for three people, they ran out of stakes by the time it got to our order. They did not offer to make up for it. So this time you would think they would make up for it. They did not. We will never return and I suggest you not go either. Very dirty and horrible experience. Waiter was suffice but didn't offer to make up for the horrible experiences we had. read more

This is a VERY busy place. As we dined there were no less than five different tables celebrating special occasions like birthdays and anniversaries so don't expect to come in here and get out quick, and don't come in without a reservation. That said, the food was pretty good. Portions were nice. My steak was prepared perfectly! Prices are very reasonable for the large amount of tasty food you get. No complaints about service either because they are well staffed. Servers have dedicated bussers so they work as a team, they also have cocktail servers so nothing sits empty long. We will be back soon! read more

We went to cattlemans to have for an enjoyable steak and lobster dinner. The steak was so small we needed a microscope to find it. My husband ordered fillet mignon and it was small. Mariah is awesome, and so is the cheesecake! Get the bacon wrapped shrimp and filet mignon, you won't regret it.

I thoroughly enjoyed the food at this place as well as excellent service. I had the rack of lamb with their special seasoning. I also had the twice baked potato house beans and a huge salad that I couldn't even make a dent in. All in all a very enjoyable experience, I would definitely come again when in this area. I wish I would've have had a picture to share but I couldn't wait to dig in. read more

I've been to Cattlemen's a few times for company dinner parties, and they've always been pretty great. Tonight we had a party of 5 for my brother's birthday. We neglected to make reservations, but the hostesses fit us in as quickly as they could. It was still an hour wait, but that was our own fault for not planning ahead. We brought in an outside birthday cake, and they were awesome about taking the cake and putting in their refrigerators. Our server was Sol, and she was extremely thorough and friendly. She had a memory like a champ, and everything was perfect. I will say, the chef's interpretation of medium rare was a little more bloody and undercooked than normal, but the for the most part the food was great. We were all just really impressed with our service. Sol brought the cake out after clearing our table, lit the candles, wished my brother a happy birthday more than once, and brought us our bill. It was not bad at all for 5 people. All said, service was amazing. Steaks were enjoyable, if not a little squishy and cold in the middle. Salad and bread was good, I always look forward to it. I would definitely recommend this place for nice dinners or fun dates. read more

Where do I begin... the place is dark, gloomy, and run down. The food was awful. The garden salad and the mashed potatoes were the best thing we ate there. I the service was mediocre. They needed more staff. I ordered a porterhouse for $46.99 and literally only 1/3 of it was edible because the rest was all fat and garbage. To build context for this review, I used to work at a fancy restaurant where the head chef and majority of the kitchen staff were all from Ruth's Chris. I know quality food so I'm not just bullshitting. This was my second visit here (wanted to give them a second chance) and I had the same experience the first time. Never coming back. The server "discounted" my steak but he should have comped it. I honestly am shocked they sell such garbage quality steaks. For the amount of money you might as well drive to Fresno and go to a real steakhouse, you'll thank me later. If 0 stars was possible I would give them it. read more

Disappointed. Adult meals excellent but great granddaughter 10 year old had ribs that weren't chewable. Also told waitress celebrating daughter's birthday and she wasn't recognized. Don't think I'd return. Will give manager Miranda manager credit for offering to call me, the waitress should have had manager talk to me last night. read more

Really wanted to love this place. Nice atmosphere and everyone was welcoming at first. Once seated service sucked. We waited for everything and the waiter would always forget half of it and have to return 20 min later. Once the food arrived everyone's prime rib was so dry we could not eat it. I have never seen prime rib look like this. We asked for a glass of water but after the 6th time we stopped asking. Simply put I will not return here. read more
