Located in the old Culprit Cafe space and a block away from the Orpheum Theater, this place is amazing! The inside was packed so our party of 4 grabbed a table on the patio. To start, I ordered the Aperol Old Fashioned - fantastic! Others in the group had the Spicy Mango Margarita and the Peach Side Car Both were also solid and highly recommend them. Kathmandu Momo Station is on the menu here and always a winner. I'm a big fan of the steamed chicken momo and the mild sauce. However, there was a chili sauce option here which has a nice sweet flavor. I can't say enough about the service. The wait staff was very attentive. Food and drink arrived promptly upon ordering. Everything was fantastic, and fun to try. Our server was brand new, and already phenomenal. Oysters were amazing. I always want to like oysters, so I keep trying them (but I rarely do like them) these were perfectly delicious to this oyster amateur. Croquettes were everything! So much delightful contrast in that dish! The margarita was on point! Snapper was yummy. I thought the salmon tartare was delicious and balanced, but the chips almost muted the bright flavors - it was best without the chips. The space was different than I expected, very much more hole in the wall and kind of crowded around the kitchen. The food changed my mind, wow! The tempura app was almost like a savory funnel cake and the brown butter honey dip was so good, we ordered two of this app! We also tried to famous vegan momos and I think I would try the steamed rather than the fried. I had the tagliatelle pasta for my entree, and it was the best pasta I've had in awhile! The food here is really delicious. One of the better dinners I've had in Omaha in a while. I had the black cod entree and my friend had the short rib risotto. The black cod was perfectly cooked and I was impressed by the presentation. Id like to eat that again. We had the MōMō to start; they were a real treat. My pumpkin old fashioned was perfectly balanced. I really appreciate a seasonal cocktail menu. Only thing I thought was mediocre was the dessert, something called ponchinki. First became aware of Cattle Call from Dirty Birds Instagram. Anything they co-sign you know is going to be fire plus they have Kathmandu Momos in house so all signs point to quality. As disappointed as I am to lose Culprit which I frequented when I use to live at the Slate, safe to say Cattle Call clears that bar and is a welcomed improvement. Love the small plate options and the momos. The cocktails are creative as well and pair nicely with the food. We tried the croquettes and fried momos to go with a Gold Rush. The wife and I enjoyed a great meal at Cattle Call tonight. The croquettes were delicious with a good variety of complimentary flavors. The short ribs were so tender you don't need a knife to cut them, and they paired well with the bok choy, reduction sauce, and rice. Overall a very enjoyable evening. I went here with my son and returned with a great group of friends. Seating was easy, but I made a reservation to be safe. For appetizers, we had the broccolini salad (it's served cold with a delicious marinade and crispy blue cheese served on top. The Parnell was perfect as was the carpaccio. All of the plates had a fine dining presentation and amazing flavors. The oysters are uniquely flavored with cucumber ice and tajin seasoning. I have tried all of the entrees and they are all cooked perfectly with sauces, broth, and on point seasonings. A restaurant with no salt and pepper on the tables is a strong indication that the food is made with care and good flavors. We also tried all of the deserts. Everyone at the table raved about the dark chocolate cremeux that came with the ponchiki. The chai panna cotta was very creamy with mango chantillies bursting with flavor. My favorite was the white chocolate cream puff!!! They had a great wine selection sold at a retail price with a modest corkage fee. Highly recommend. read more

I travel for work all every week, all week. This affords me the opportunity to eat out frequently. Every day except the weekend I'm in a different City. After a few years of this eating out trying to find a "good" place to eat has become more of a chore than you might think. And then I stopped at Cattle call. The first visit was so good, I actually re-arranged my travel plans to get in an extra visit. Everything I have ordered on the menu has been fantastic. Saturday the 11th of August they had a grand opening and added items to the menu. Yea. Previously the Aloo Chops and MOMO's were great and light and delightful. Now there's a bit more and WOW. I ordered the Morgan Ranch Hanger Steak today and I was delighted with the flavors. These are more aligned with European portion sizes but the size of the flavor is out of this world. OK. I'm a foodie and I skipped all of my meals to be able to try things on the menu as I won't be in town for a while. I had a brief discussion with the Chef de Cuisine Dom and even decided to try a second entré. Dom recommended the Shishito as a good second savory dish for the evening. I wish I lived closer. Shishito peppers, miller-dohrmann polenta, longwalk sweet corn, ponzu, grana padano. Light, tasty, delicious and delightful. I'm eventually going to have every item on this menu including the things I would never think to order. NOT crazy expensive. Spectacularly fresh ingredients prepared with passion and talent.
