Selective flowers for a different taste. I love the variety they offer, not the standard carnations and roses, but exotic and fresh. Really makes an impression. Love this little corner flower shop. It's everything you would want a local shop to be. I would give it 5 stars, except that because it's small and local, their selection is not always very broad. Still, the staff is lovely, knowledgeable, and even will remember you on your next visit (or else they fake it really well!). A cool place, for sure. read more

Recently purchased a dozen roses (half red/half yellow) and after just over 2 days the yellow roses have completely died and the red ones are following. The roses appear forced bloomed. They were put in water immediately upon delivery and used with food as well. They were beautiful for almost two days and the customer service was great, but it isn't at all worth the $75 w/delivery. read more

The energy and vibe when you walk in is right on the money. The selection is nice and the staff is helpful. I like being able to give them the price I am looking to spend and what I am trying to convey in my gift of flowers. They artfully put something together for me that always wows the recipient. I used Cattails for my wedding flowers. It was a very small wedding, so one bride's bouquet, one maid of honor's, two boutonierres, and a corsage for my mom. Lisa and the others there were so incredibly helpful. I showed them a picture of a bouquet I liked, we looked over flowers, chose a general 'sense' or style and colors. Later, I sent them another picture via email and a picture of my dress so that they could see the 'background' for the flowers. That was it. I was on a short time frame (and sick, to boot!) so I did not go back. On The Day, the flowers were there right on time AND ABSOLUTELY PERFECT! Cattails did all the flowers for our wedding this March 2015 and the arrangements they made were beautiful and exactly what I wanted! I was not entirely sure of what I wanted for the bouquets and boutonnieres, but I showed Lisa pictures of what I liked and I thought were pretty and what I wanted our centerpieces to be and she took that idea and executed it perfectly. We chose Cattails as the florist for our wedding and I'm so glad we did. Lisa was extremely helpful and patient from the initial meeting up to the wedding day. The best part, though, was the flowers. I was looking for some non-traditional bouquets for myself and my bridesmaids and Lisa immediately suggested some great options. We gave her a birdcage-type container for the flower girl's bouquet, somewhat hard to work with, and she took on the challenge and made it beautiful. I absolutely love Cattails. It is the only place I purchase flowers from in Chicago. They are always able to put together beautiful flowers on the budget I provide them with. The flower selection is the best thing about Cattails. In addition to having lilies, roses, etc they also have an eclectic selection of more exotic and "unique" flowers. I do not live in the city (Southwest Suburbanite), but anytime I find myself in the neighborhood, which is probably about once every couple of months, I always make time to stop in to Cattails. Being in the Southwest Suburbs, I am just outside of Cattails delivery area, so I can't say that they are my go-to florist. However, even as a suburb dweller, I believe that Cattails is second to none as a neighborhood florist. In other words, no matter what the occasion might be that calls for a cut-flower purchase, I have not been to a single florist that offers a better walk-in, look around, speak with the owner, and eventually make a purchase, experience. The shop has a very comfortable and warming feel to it that is augmented by the incredibly friendly and conversational owners and staff. Their selection of fresh cut flowers is always plentiful and particularly unique (they have included at least 3-4 stems in the different arrangements I have purchased from them that I had never seen before, but have since become favorites of my girlfriend), and if you're looking for something that stands apart from the traditional bouquet, they always have a selection of more exotic potted flowered plants as well. Being tucked away in a corner location on Division, the shop is not huge, but as a result, one can always find one of the owners in the arrangement prep area right there amidst all of their product. Therefore, especially as a walk-in, it is not uncommon to have the same individual greet you, help you select some flowers, and then have them prepare an arrangement right in front of you. That kind of experience is not one that you will find in most other florist shops where there is usually an unseen back area where all the work is done. All in all, no matter if you're an experienced flower purchaser, or are completely clueless and in pursuit of something for your significant other, Cattails is the best place in Chicago to stop in, look around, and let the staff help you make your purchase for whatever the occasion might be. If you live in, or find yourself in the city the next time that you need to make a flower arrangement purchase, resist the urge to order a stock bouquet from one of the big online vendors, and stop into Cattails instead. The experience will always be a very positive one, you will probably get a chance to learn a little about purchasing a great arrangement, and of course, no matter what you walk away with, your purchase will always be one that will thrill you or the recipient of your gift. read more

Lisa is the best!! I cannot believe my husband and I have been getting flowers at any other florist in the area. She did our wedding flowers this month and they were by far better than we could have imagined. She worked with our budget and delivered flower arrangements that were amazing. Went in person to order some flowers for my girlfriends birthday. The woman that helped me was very pleasant. Told her what size I wanted, what kind of style my gf had. With delivery, I paid around $90. When I saw the flowers I was kinda disappointed. It seemed to be a mix of mostly star gazer lilies and tulips. Kinda old lady looking-- not what I was expecting from this place. The tulips didn't seem in all that great of shape, and some of the lilies never opened by the time everything else was dead. If I had to do it again, I'd probably try somewhere else. read more

SO expensive. I went in for a bouquet and walked out with 5 stems for almost $30. The wrapping around the flowers completely takes over the flowers and you can't even see them. Wouldn't go back. read more
