I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Chen because I was frequently getting rashes under my arms without explanation. I had seen various doctors over the past six years in attempt to diagnose and treat it, but after several biopsies and tests, no one had given me an explanation. Within minutes of visiting with Dr. Chen, she had given me a diagnosis and two different treatment options and one of them was a success! Horrible experience. Maybe Chen-Tsai is pleasant when you come in for a simple exam, as it seems most reviewers did. However I came in for a full body check for moles. I also questioned why she was rushing through my exam and she resented that. I tried to be sure I'd be scheduled for enough time. I have lots of moles. I needed a scalp check too.The staff was aware of that. But I was only given 10 minutes anyway and not all my concerns were addressed. My first exam started off OK, but then Dr. Chen ended up rushing me and actually got angry and bossy when I asked her to please look at ALL the moles. It bothered me that she was quickly dismissive of the all skin tags and moles on my neck without looking closely at them, and refused to look at the moles on the back of my neck.Said something about never seeing dangerous moles in that area {back of neck} on someone with my skin and hair color,or something like that. Why not be thorough anyway ?! I tried to work with this office, including the fact Chen got angry with me both times I saw her. She doesn't recognize anxiety at all. Slowing down a little,and listening instead of becoming bossy and angry would help a lot. How about scheduling more time for body scans instead of rushing and getting rude with a patient ?! I came in for a full body scan and yet she never told me what the lumps on my scalp were. Never visually inspected them. She just felt them briefly with her hands and that was it. Dr. Chen was dismissive of the scalp lumps, said she'd seen larger ones before ! NEVER DIAGNOSED WHAT THE LUMPS ON MY SCALP ARE. Naturally any patient wants a thorough exam. I'd read that hard lumps on the scalp can be bad news, and that's what I have but I received no diagnosis. The doctor gives QUICK,VERY PAINFUL numbing injections. Does it so fast you and so FEEL ALL OF IT. And I'm no cry baby. After a FAST, very painful lip biopsy we suddenly decided to do on my second visit {second visit was originally meant to check the site of a mole removal on my leg, so I had undressed to my underwear}, because on the first visit she hadn't noticed the dry patch on my lip and I had forgot to mention it. So there was a hurried lip injection/biopsy. She didn't care that it was incredibly painful. She just wanted to rush. The same had happened with the numbing shot for my leg. After the horribly painful lip injection and lip biopsy I realized I was in a state of shock. Neither the assistant nor Chen noticed. It was unnecessary to give the injection in that fast manner,very unprofessional and cruel. I was left sitting in my underwear after she checked my leg, and she moved on to the lip biopsy. No one gave me anything to cover up with before beginning work on my lip. Afterward the assistant was trying to get the chair back in position while I was still in it and in shock from pain. I remember being in an awkward, upward position,still in just my underwear, as she was trying to get the chair back to whatever state she wanted {chair tilts into many positions}. Instead of helping me out of the chair first. I ended up bent upward in the chair,my stomach toward the ceiling and my head and feet dangling towards the floor. After finally standing up, I told both Chen and the assistant I felt ill. After Chen left I showed the assistant that my hands were shaking. Neither of them showed any concern. I'd waited a month or more to see Dr. Chen to start with, so I tried to accept their mistakes because I had worries about the moles. Big mistake. I "worked with" whatever happened to try to stay with the office. I was also telling the staff about what I didn't like. If an office cares at all, they welcome feedback. I assumed they cared about feedback. Also, they lost my lip biopsy. It was sent to the wrong place,they had to track it down. They only became aware of it after I asked why no one had called me about the results.This happened more than 2 weeks after the biopsy and so it was past the time when they should have contacted me . During a call with Dr. Chen about that, and she promised she'd call me again herself later that day. And the office manager also said Chen would call me after they got my lab results. Instead, the office manager called me. I was scheduled for a check up on my lip because something might be wrong where it was biopsied but they called and cancelled me. What a joke. All along I've been "working with" them, the doctor's bad temper and lack of care with injections...and suddenly they can no longer work with ME ? This is what happens when an office doesn't care about feedback. Ego rules. Chen actually cancelled a patient who called for a check up after lip surgery. That's is proof of why you should RUN if anything seems off or wrong with medical office. Don't try to be patient if you receive less than excellent care. I hadn't planned to stay with them after the post-biopsy check up on my lip, but they refused to follow through with that check up. read more

Dr Chen-Tsai is a wonderful, very thorough, polite physician who has a great bedside manner! Right away when you walk in you meet Beth who is very beautiful and nice! she verifies your insurance before you come so you don't waste your time driving! Very on top of her game! Then I was called back by the medical assistant Maria who helps you get ready to see the Doctor. She went above and beyond what you would normally expect in a medical office now a days lol she is so nice and works so well with the physician you can tell it is such a great atmosphere! I would recommend anyone and everyone who wants to see a dermatologist to come here! read more

My consultation with Dr. Chen was phenomenal! When she first entered the exam room she asked if we waited long (which we did not), and expressed such sincere concern. She was overwhelmingly friendly, and quickly diagnosed my acne and created a detailed plan including necessary medications and daily routine. She is certainly knowledgeable about skin and makes you feel comfortable knowing you're in very safe hands. The check-in and check-out process was seamless and the waiting room has plenty of chairs with a water fountain. I very much look forward to my next visit with Dr. Chen and am very blessed to have discovered such an outstanding dermatologist! You will love her, too! read more

I had been seeing Dr Chen for some time. The last time I saw her she told me that I didn't need to return for a skin check for 2-3 YEARS and when I did she would have me see a "P.A."!!! This is after spending all 35 of my working years outside in the sun, in Arizona and California!!! Not reasonable!! Dr. Chen-Tsai is the best dermatologist I've ever been to. I've been fighting psoriasis for the past 10 years and have seen many doctors, used many creams, ointments, lasers and uvb light treatments with no relief. After my last doctor told me he is running out of options to help me, I decided that I was going to see another doctor, and I am so blessed that I found Dr. Chen-Tsai!
