Fried shrimp

Here is my two cents on quantity quality in price. The food was delivered in a timely matter by GrubHub.. I ordered the Mongolian beef spicy along with two eggrolls . The eggrolls were you're pretty much standard of what you expect from other restaurantswith cabbage and what not.. They have about five different levels of heat. I requested the middle one of spicy. . it arrived in a standard to go container and was pretty good right off the back. He also gave me my additional four soy sauce along with additional hot sauce.... they were very good in following directions as to what I wanted and needed.. And one other big surprise, which I thought was a bonus they also gave me a fortune cookie Every other Chinese restaurant I've gotten have failed to do that little tidbit to make your day go happier . .. well, if you're looking for a good Chinese place, this is a great place to order from

I use to frequent this location until recently a few unfortunate experiences. It's clearly not fine dining, but they do provide food at a good value. The inside of the restaurant still resembles the pandemic being completely blocked off with a small waiting area and ordering through a window from a nice lady.

It wasn't the worse in the world. My boyfriend and I are new to the area and my favorite Chinese food spot is across town. I decided to give some in the area a try, starting with Cathay. I called in an order for 2 combo plates and an order of regoons. They had everything done within 10 minutes. The food was aight. I wouldn't feed the chow mein to my dog to be honest, next time I'll get all rice. The Mongolian bbq was so watery, unlike the picture posted. The star of the show were the ragoons! They were so crispy! Obviously imitation crab but I'm definitely willing try them again just because of those.

Huge disappointment. I usually eat at Ming Palace, Lucky Wok, Green Jade, Bel Air, or New Rice Bowl. If you are looking for somewhere new to try, don't do it here. I seriously question the good reviews. *chicken Chow Mein & pork fried rice were too salty and had no meat or vegetables in them - none! Zero! Zip! I don't know how they get repeat business when this is how they serve staples!. The noodles were oily and doughy, and the rice was broken and a shockingly small portion. *S&S pork and orange chicken where sickly sweet, obviously from frozen. Totally edible, but you can get better quality from the frozen section at the supermarket. *honey shrimp was deep fried prawns, lots of dough. It's nothing like Honey Walnut shrimp anywhere else. It was the worst, I can't believe they serve this and charge money for it. Very doughy and oily. *Curry chicken had a decent, albeit salty, flavor, but it was mostly vegetables and only small bits of chicken. The prices are only slightly lower than other places, and the food quality is very low by comparison. Also, maybe restaurants don't think it matters, but a good fortune cookie is a nice touch. *fortune cookies were ultra thin and flavorless. This is what budget fortune cookies taste like.

Why was this place empty on a Friday during lunch time?!?! The food was absolutely amazing and service was great and super fast.

Good food. Decent price. Just a take out place. The lady is sweet. There is not much of anything but just a front to pick up food.

The people were very friendly and the place was very clean. They have a decent size menu.. I was here for the congee, but looking at the menu, I saw the rice paper rolls. They have gotten good reviews, so I decided to try the. Chinese donut rice paper rolls. I love the savory Chinese donuts. The donuts were wonderfully savory and crispy, and the silky rice paper played against the donuts, absolutely perfectly. I'm not sure what the sauce was that was on top of it, but I loved it. It was a perfect match to the rolls. I was only gonna have one and take one home, but they were so good, I ended up polishing off both of them. For my congee, I decided to try the grass carp congee. Carp are bottom feeders so they can definitely have a muddy flavor. However, grass carp, as their name implies, swim among the grasses. It is a firm, mild tasting fish. The congee was perfect, not too thick, not too thin, and I could definitely taste the ginger and the scallions. They played along perfectly with the mild flavor of the carp. Because I had polished off both of those rice paper rolls, I made it through about half of the congee, the rest coming home with me. For congee and other Chinese dishes, I now have another place that's in my rotation. I will be back. Thank you.

All the servers were very nice and our food came out shortly after we ordered. We ordered the shrimp and chive steamed rice noodle, Chinese donut steamed rice noodle, shrimp pumpkin and salted egg, half roasted duck, preserved eggs pork congee, and 2 cold lemon teas. My favorites were the shrimp and chive steamed rice noodle and the pumpkin dish. I always look for this dish and am so excited when I see it's on the menu! In particular I thought this one was perfectly fried. Both the shrimp and the pumpkin were crispy, golden, and not oily at all. I thought the congee could use more flavor for me personally but the texture was really nice. The duck was also great! Crispy skin but juicy meat and great flavor. I enjoyed the tea but thought it was a little too sweet for me. I thought it was fairly priced with good portions. We had plenty of leftovers that all warmed up really well once we got home. I would definitely go back again and have already recommended Taste of Original to so many people!

This restaurant is a to-go only restaurant, and gets plenty of traffic from the area. I went midday (3:00pm) and there were at least 4 customers in and out during the time I was there. While I was checking their menu, I decided to order, since I remember how good their chicken wings are. I ordered the chicken wings, and a lunch combo with chicken with black bean sauce. The combo comes with chow mein and fried rice and an egg roll for $13.99 but I asked for steam rice instead of fried rice. Unfortunately, I didn't check my plate before leaving the restaurant because they gave me all steam rice and no chow mein. Despite the error, their chicken wings are still the best, and the chicken with black bean sauce was very good. I would've like to have tried the chow mein. Also, I didn't notice that they charged $16.99 for the plate, which was a little steep considering I got no chow mein. Some of the condiments are extra, like the hot mustard, so ask for it before they ring up your bill. I'm sure I'll be going back for the chicken wings because it's made fresh and it's really good.

After tax and cash discount, $15.50. It smacked. Waiting are is covered in pictures of their plates. It's worth to look at.

Those who haven't had this style of family dinner is truly missing out. We ordered a set family meal. Standard great fair like fish maw soup, Peking pork spareribs/ salt and pepper spareribs, fried fish, empress chicken, and a bunch of other dishes to the point we all were asking each other "that's it right?". No it was not here comes another lol. All the dishes were good standard Chinese dinner dishes but the empress chicken came with a ginger scallion sauce that was great. Tender steamed chicken with that sauce is amazing. Walnut shrimp with big crunchy shrimp was tasty. I kept piling on with small portions of everything and I was honestly happy with it all. All the dishes we ordered came in good portions. I didn't have one particular favorite since everything tasted good overall. The vegetables were crunchy and well-seasoned, and the dishes had a good balance of protein and vegetables. The beef was also tender. The only downside was that the seafood soup and the squid in the stir-fried vegetable dish tasted a little fishy. Other than that, everything was enjoyable. The employees were super friendly and welcoming. They even provided plates, forks, and candles for our birthday cake, which was a nice touch!
