4 Piece Veg Egg Rolls (I ate one they were pretty good!)
Sarah B.

It was okay! I picked up some things tonight and they must have been closing in 45 minutes so the restaurant seemed completely empty and I was by myself, I walked over to find a girl who was very sweet and helped me with the transaction with my food. I will say it's a bit on the pricey side for them raving about being wallet friendly, but to each their own. They were delicious! I would love to come back here when there are more people for a lunch hour, the restaurant is beautiful!!

Beef Mongolian

Here is my two cents on the quality quantity of Ming Palace. It was delivered by Grubhub in a timely manner, and it arrived very hot . I ordered two separate but equally delicious beef chow Fong . One was a grand Chow Fung in which there was chicken, shrimp, and pork . Plenty of chicken and pork and we counted seven good size shrimp . The second order was beef chow fung. And we found it to have plenty of slices beef.. Though the containers have shrunken in size, it was still quite full filing to sometimes have an extra meal the next day .. I was quite happy and highly recommended this place again .

Started my online order in the parking lot in front of the store after taking care of business at a local establishment. I decided to go inside and placed my order face to face.. I got home, didn't eat immediately I was handing after work stuff . Now ready to eat I opened my VEGETABLE FRIED RIICE AND NOW THERE IS SHRIMP IN THE MIX. I went inside to hopefully to make my initial order and now this miss this mix up. Total fail!! And now they are closed

This is sooooooooooooooooooooo Gooooooooooooooood, the only reason I don't give it 5 is because they don't give you a lot of beef, I wish they would give you more beef then the veggies, BUT this is so good, it's all I get when I come here

Wor wonton soup
Jen M.

I'm very picky on my Chinese food and the restaurants I frequent. Felt like trying a new place and I'm so glad I chose Ming Palace. I ordered the Wor WonTon Soup & family meal for 2 with chicken chow mein & sweet n sour chicken. Wor wonton soup is spot on. Full of flavor, chicken, shrimp & wontons very soft, baby bokchoy scrumptious, chicken chowmein & sweet n sour chicken very tender & bursting with flavor. We will definitely be regular customers.

Generally OK as west coast Chinese goes, but lately they've gotten EXTREMELY stingy with their sauces when you get take out.

I was excited to try this spot as it states it was established in 1939 with some great history…read more Personally for me the interior seemed a bit out dated with low lighting. However, our server was incredibly well informative and friendly. We ordered and enjoyed our meal. Food comes out family style and we were incredibly full. My only criticism was that the orange chicken seemed to have no crunch. We had vegetarian tofu and mushroom dish that had a great flavor profile. I especially loved the fried rice as it tasted similar to the cooking profile of a Benihana style fried rice.

In honor of dear dad, we decided to check out a famous spot located next to the Sacramento state…read morecapitol called Franks Fats. Circa 1939 and stamped on the cement at the front door. This is a famous Chinese food spot for local politicians for lunch and NBA stars and now the Oakland A baseball team. There is no back door or underground tunnel entrance or exit. Our server Yee was super nice and he liked us so much that he gave us a free slice of their famous banana pie. This pie is made fresh everyday. The pastry chef has 2 sous chefs to help. Their orders can be up to 300 pies a day! This very flaky thin crust with the beautiful layered at an angle with a fresh whipped cream topping. We wanted to try it but didn't want to get super full. We ended up finishing the complimentary piece of pie. We also had the wok fried pork spareribs that had this lovely seasoned jalapeño with that crispy bite but be careful of the bones. It reminded us of chicken wings. That crunchy crispy outside with perfectly cooked meat on the inside. The tip was to use the hot mustard and ketchup to dip it in. They give you a plate of various sauces from mild to super spicy. The sweet and sour soup is also made fresh every day with chunky vegetables with lots of flavors. We had the shrimp dumplings which were freshly made. The crab rancons were our favorite with chili sauce. These beautifully star shaped treasures were our favorites. We were super full. Parking was available due to no games going on. The street has parking but next door there is a valet lot for 12 dollars. If you're ever in the area, this is a must try experience. The place was packed but they let us stay and close the place down! Hence, this is why they've been open since 1939. Mahalo Timothy O'Connor for the recommendation! Loved the Buddha belly by the bar area up top.

The place I was going to go for lunch was closed, so my GPS brought me here. I was extremely happy…read morethat it did. A very nice restaurant. The people were very friendly and the place was very clean. They have a decent size menu.. I was here for the congee, but looking at the menu, I saw the rice paper rolls. They have gotten good reviews, so I decided to try the. Chinese donut rice paper rolls. I love the savory Chinese donuts. The donuts were wonderfully savory and crispy, and the silky rice paper played against the donuts, absolutely perfectly. I'm not sure what the sauce was that was on top of it, but I loved it. It was a perfect match to the rolls. I was only gonna have one and take one home, but they were so good, I ended up polishing off both of them. For my congee, I decided to try the grass carp congee. Carp are bottom feeders so they can definitely have a muddy flavor. However, grass carp, as their name implies, swim among the grasses. It is a firm, mild tasting fish. The congee was perfect, not too thick, not too thin, and I could definitely taste the ginger and the scallions. They played along perfectly with the mild flavor of the carp. Because I had polished off both of those rice paper rolls, I made it through about half of the congee, the rest coming home with me. For congee and other Chinese dishes, I now have another place that's in my rotation. I will be back. Thank you.

The place got pretty full so I was glad to get there early. We ordered the Preserved egg pork Congee. It's the thing we get all the time now. They make it really well and my wife and I like it. She loves the egg but I let her eat that. I am not so much into that 100 year old egg. We always get the Shrimp wanton and love that too. This is our go to place lately for these two dishes. They do a good job and we are in and out in less than 45 minutes. The place is cute with little toy collectables throughout the store. The staff are nice and we come here like 2x a month or more. Worth a try I think you will like the food here.

This restaurant is a to-go only restaurant, and gets plenty of traffic from the area. I went midday (3:00pm) and there were at least 4 customers in and out during the time I was there. While I was checking their menu, I decided to order, since I remember how good their chicken wings are. I ordered the chicken wings, and a lunch combo with chicken with black bean sauce. The combo comes with chow mein and fried rice and an egg roll for $13.99 but I asked for steam rice instead of fried rice. Unfortunately, I didn't check my plate before leaving the restaurant because they gave me all steam rice and no chow mein. Despite the error, their chicken wings are still the best, and the chicken with black bean sauce was very good. I would've like to have tried the chow mein. Also, I didn't notice that they charged $16.99 for the plate, which was a little steep considering I got no chow mein. Some of the condiments are extra, like the hot mustard, so ask for it before they ring up your bill. I'm sure I'll be going back for the chicken wings because it's made fresh and it's really good.
