This is a photo of the very bold bird who thought it could get some food by hopping right onto our table.

The. Best. Food! From the moment we walked in we knew we were in the right place. The smell was a heavenly mix of bbq sauce and the house I used to visit in Michigan as a kid. The gifts items were well priced and I got my son a fun t-shirt. Lunch was amazing! Everything was so yummy. He has a very Cajun style meal. I have a huge fish sandwich (that I took home and got two more meals out of). He had a river water green cocktail. And I ordered a quart of the amazing ranch dressing to go. And even all that was less than $60! Incredible. Our waitress was new and still learning the job, and she killed it. She was kind and funny and she quickly found answers to our questions (like: "can I buy some ranch dressing to take home?!"). Back to the gift shop cuz I just had to have my own Catfish Charlie's t-shirt. Everyone from start to finish was so kind and friendly. We almost went back two days later for more! Oh! And the view! We sat outside and dined on a huge deck overlooking the Mississippi River. I mean, it really doesn't get any better than that!

Went there after a great bike ride on the trail. We sat outside on a beautiful night with a full moon. The waitress was pleasant. Our food was just average. I was a bit disappointed. I had the bluegill dinner and unfortunately the breading was really thick. The cheesy potatoes as a side were tasty, but could've been a bit warmer. Friends had the catfish and they pretty much said the same thing. The coleslaw was fairly standard. Hubby's Bayou platter. Well, let's just say this he didn't say he didn't finish anything. . He said nothing was really hot and nothing really really tasty. He did enjoy the ham potato soup! If you want to sit outside at a beautiful night it would be fine. Just don't have really high expectations or make better menu choices than we did.

pork tenderloin

The food was really great, i had the pork tenderloin and it was cooked to perfection. the staff was friendly and they had ordered our drinks very shortly after we sat down. only complaint was the flies in the restaurant made it a little harder to enjoy my meal. great meal.

It took my retiring to finally start dying dining here. It's about a 70 minute ride from Cedar rapids Iowa to this location but we do it over and over and over again. That should tell you something about how good they are. Their service is outstanding. The food is great never had a bad meal. My wife has Alzheimer's and she always enjoys the ride up in the view overlooking the river. I had to ask for tables along the outside to get the best view of the river. It was suggested I might want to make a reservation to be sure I would get one if available. We've eaten various items all over the menu you can't go wrong with anything it's all great. If you haven't tried it you should.

Let me break this down: The service is 5 stars, the ambiance is 4 stars and the food is 3 stars, so…read moreI'll give it an average of 4 stars. This is a classic supper club, straight out of the 70s with all the good and bad. The food is hearty and hasn't changed since the 70s I suspect. It's hearty and rich and probably everything my cardiologist would advise me to avoid. In other words, yummy! The place itself is great - nicely open, with nice music and great views. We were there late, so we got a nice view of the lights, but I can only imagine what it would be like in the day or at sunset. The standout is the service. They are incredibly nice and helpful, and willing to take various customization requests. Seriously, the staff is awesome and I love them. I will definitely be back.

Entering, we got there a few minutes early and they weren't quite seating the first seating (5:00…read morepm). Within a few minutes, they did take us for our requested reservation. Btw... reservations are only made by phone as they are not on Open Table, Table or Yelp for reservations. The bonus is that you can request a booth (as we did) when you call. It was perfectly lit inside so that while still romantic, you can see the menu! We didn't have to bring out the phone for this. There was a special small menu as well, that had a special Valentine's Day menu. What I didn't realize, until half way through the meal, was that the cocktail menu was on the back side. We did have to request the wine menu, which came in an old, tattered notebook. An investment in a nice professional wine folder would be a nice touch for this more upscale establishment. We had a fabulous dinner for Valentine's Day! We did order a bottle of the house Pinot Noir, a wonderful sweeter wine from Napa Valley. We started out with the chef's salad, which was a mix of greens, feta cheese crumbles and a deliciously sweet and tart balsamic vinaigrette! Both my husband and I had the beef tenderloin, which came with scrumptious mashed potatoes and perfectly steamed carrots and broccoli. For dessert, we had the wonderfully tasty Betty Jane's Gremlin Cheesecake, which did not disappoint! It was so creamy, not too rich, with just the right amount of sweetness! Priced at $10, we felt it was a little steep for the very slim slice that was served as most couples share a dessert! Honestly, it was so good, I just wanted more of it! The service was outstanding with the perfect amount of attention. Bus service didn't really happen but the server, Gabe, was on top of it, clearing plates when needed. All in all, we had a lovely night celebrating Valentine's Day, a day early to avoid the crowds!

This average at best experience was a disappointment. We were one of only two tables on a Wednesday…read morenight. We normally sit at the bar, when we dine, but it was uncomfortably sunny at the bar so we sat at a table. Our waitress greeted us. We asked what the specials were and she had to find out. We also asked what were the menu highlights and she said the menu was new and she hadn't tried anything. I started with a gin cocktail. It was not as well balanced or well presented as drinks we had had the previous two nights. We ordered the roasted veggie dip to start. It was supposed to come with either pretzels or veggies. We forgot to specify and we got a small ramekins of dip with giant pretzels. Why not mix it up and have both? We also had the mussels. They were okay but not particularly hot or flavorful. For dinner we split the pork tenderloin which came with coconut rice and a pineapple mole sauce. Lukewarm and bland. You didn't taste the coconut or the mole at all and the carrot salad on top made the whole dish cold. To top it off, when the bill came it stemmed more than we expected. The waitress charged us for a beef tenderloin instead of a pork tenderloin. Luckily we caught it but honestly she had 1 or 2 tables and she couldn't get it right. We would not return to this restaurant- there are better choices in the area.
