As I was coming home from Ft Wayne I was detoured through Pendleton. I remembered I had an Italian place marked on my bucket list on Yelp- WOW- honestly this was the best Italian meal I have had in Indy! It is worth the drive!!! All pastas are made fresh. The staff was so friendly and accommodating! They have a piano player as well...what a treat! I sat in the back corner and took it all in! The food was outstanding, I ordered Linguine Frutti di Mare- homemade linguine ( delicious) served with clams, mussels, scallops? Shrimp, cherry tomatoes, evoo, garluc, parsley cooked in a white wine sauce!!! As you can see I absolutely hated it... lol! I has an expression and lava cake for dessert. The lava cake was a little overcooked- that is the only complaint.... Other than the lady sitting across the table from me that talked loud enough for the whole restaurant to hear her conversation. I wish people would be more observant and realize they don't have to talk so loud when they're sitting at their table it made it difficult to hear the piano player and it went from a relaxing stress free feeling to an annoyance. I was so happy when her food arrived. This place is very special. It's very small. I got in because it was very early in the evening. I believe their doors open at 5 o'clock. I would highly recommend reservations, but if you have a special occasion that you're celebrating, and it appeared that several people did this is worth the drive! read more

8.2/10 overall. My partner and I mainly went for the cheese wheel experience. The server or cook lights the inside of a parmasean wheel on fire and scoops the melted cheese to have with the choice of pasta. The experience comes with either rigatoni or Alfredo noodles with Guanciale. The noodles and sauce were good but the pork cheek was not for us. 1/2 of the bites were pure fat. The rest of the meal was outstanding including the calamari/shrimp appetizer, Caesar salad, and the caprese salad. We already talked about going back to try other main courses. They had 3 options for nonalcoholic mocktails/drinks so that would be an improvement they could make especially for the non drinkers that would still like a NA wine pairing with a nice Italian dinner. You can bring your own with a $15 corking fee. The ambience was relaxing and romantic. They had orchestral music of popular songs so it was fun guessing what songs they were. We made a reservation for my aunts birthday. We were seated promptly and she was given a birthday card from the staff at Catellos. This was so nice. Carlos took excellent care of us and when we opted to skip dessert, he brought her a small cannoli with a candle in it. The space is charming as it's an old building with some new touches that make it cozy and inviting. Highly recommend. We'll return for sure! read more

It's been 12 months since my last visit, in my opinion a tragedy! 2025 Thanksgiving Eve. I believe this is one of my favorite small locally owned restaurants I've ever been to more than 5x. All dishes I've had here are excellent...I believe in my precious post I mentioned this is not a place to get Chicken Parmigiano. This is a place to experience what Italian foods can be. Catello puts soul into his craft and it shows. You must view the menu to understand. Ambiance is splendid...light piano music wafts through the air like a Billy Joel song, white table clothes, comfy chairs and mood lighting. Service is excellent Food - Homemade pastas, sauces galore. Walnut cream sauce, pistachio pesto, delicate goat sauce. Today I tried Fried Tortellini garnished with freshed shaved parm and a pistachio pesto. Easily outpaces any fried ravioli I've tried. Crispy edges with a punch of meaty filling and richness of the sauce. Next the Fettuccine al Fileto - 10/10 Amazing! the sauces and fresh ingredients shown through and the burst of acid from fresh roasted cherry tomatoes took it over the top combined with marscarpone. Risotto Filetto and Gorganzola - 10/10. Rich creamy risotto with that hint of gorganzola zip and porcini... Again, this place is so incredibly wonderful. The food is outstanding, the service is top notch, the location ready to find. We went for RRR's birthday tonight and had another delightful experience. R had the linguine di mare, their homemade pasta with a simple olive oil dressing and a fresh variety of seafood (still in shells so be aware.). He said the olive oil was the perfect amount, not too oily as you might find elsewhere. Just perfect. I enjoyed my fave, the ravioli ai funghi with walnut cream sauce. There are only 5 ravioli but I can never eat all of it. Great leftovers! The wine was excellent as usual. This is still our favorite spot for dinner. Call ahead to make sure they haven't decided to close for the evening. We ate here once before, and it was a really interesting and exciting place with high quality food. Tonight, we drove an hour to eat here as a special date. Their posted hours are until 10pm on Saturdays. We arrived at 8:40, and we were told the kitchen was closed. The hostess said they didn't have any reservations, so they closed the kitchen. There was live piano music. People were sitting at four or five tables with drinks....but they didn't offer to seat us. Since they couldn't feed us, I guess I didn't mind--but I felt like an unwelcome interloper. ...and we ended up at the nearby pizza place for our date. We came to Catello's for a celebratory dinner, in the mood for great homemade Italian, which we received! All of the items we ordered were delicious. For starters, we got fried tortellini and bruschetta. The bruschetta had little dollops of pesto, adding to the flavor. For our main course, we opted for the ravioli pomodoro and the genevese. Both dishes were great, and you truly get the homemade, Italian feel. There's an extensive wine list, and a handful of wine cocktails and mocktails. We also left with a to--go cannoli for later! The waitstaff was polite and knowledgeable of the menu. Our only complaint was the speed of service. Understanding that this is not a fast, casual place, we still felt like we were left waiting multiple times for our orders to even be put in. As for the ambiance, it is a great mix of well-lit and dimly lit, depending where you are sat. There is also a live pianist, adding to the ambience. Wow, what a wonderful dinner. And great service- cordial & attentive, without being intrusive. The burrata appetizer was creamy & the tomato sauce was rich & fresh. It's been couple years since we came and noticed restaurant expanded their space. A lady came in soon after we got there around 6pm and we were able to enjoy our meal with live piano music. Service was good overall. Food was excellent overall. We started out with Burrata cheese puffy pastry and it turned out better than we thought. My seafood pasta was bit different from couple years ago but it was really good. Pistachios cake and lemon blackberry cheesecake was very satisfying. Worth an hour drive from anywhere in the region. A fine dining experience with an extensive wine list. Be sure to save room for the freshly made desserts. Went for dinner on a Friday evening and had reservations so we were seated right on time. The atmosphere was very nice with soft live piano music. The establishment is very nice and seems to be well run. The draw back is the diner menu is limited without some things you'd assume such as not offering lasagna , chicken parm and other items I assumed they'd have. Also pricing is salty. Their bread is great and service was handled very well. I am not a picky eater and had trouble finding something I thought I'd enjoy. I would have given it a couple more stars if the menu had some standard items on menu. read more

I really wanted this place to be awesome, but it was just ok. We got the cheese wheel, which was good, however it wasn't worth the cost, especially with the truffles. The best part was the presentation. The owner makes it table side and he is very nice. The food was average, just a little over priced. The ambiance is nice. They only have wine, limited wine cocktails, no beer and no full bar. All in all, I wanted this place to be better. I probably won't go back, but if you live in the area, give it a shot. read more

I was looking for a nice, quiet restaurant to get together with my family at as we were meeting in Anderson for some casino time. I am so glad I found Catello's! It was perfect for us in every way. Great space! A very nice vibe with music and table settings. I'm usually cynical at going to Italian restaurants. Not every restaurant can pull off good pasta and meat options. Catello's was great. We had the Ragú, which was delicious! The seafood pasta dish. It was made with plenty of mussels, shrimp etc. The Gnocchi was obviously hand made and wonderful. As were the specials of stewed lamb. The servers were on top of everything and were very good! We had the place to ourselves this snowy afternoon with a lovely window seat overlooking downtown Pendleton. Delicious crispy crusted bread was promptly brought and waters served and drink orders taken . There is an excellent wine list though we did not partake today. We shared the Panzanella salad which was very tasty with fresh mozzarella (made in house I believe). Hubs had the shrimp linguini and declared it both delicious and spicy. I had the lasagna bolognese which was served in its own ramekin type dish. The lasagna was top notch though I've had better. Service was well paced and attentive. Which they had a broad selection of, as far as price point and variety. The food selection included a broad palette of authentic Italian dishes, that had a very fresh taste. When they say they close at 9, that's what they mean. All too eager to accept our reservation , my BF and I decided to to drive to east bum Frick for dinner with an 8:30 reservation. Right of the bat, no liquor or beer license only wine. Strikeeee 1. Our food was the definition of mediocracy. My BF was famished so he ate all his. I had the dish with the peas. Yuck. We had to ask for parm cheese. The food was mediocre. Strikeee 2. The we ask for more bread . I'm sorry But that will bill be $3.00. I have eaten in some very nice restaurants all over the world and some not so nice but never been charged for bread . Strikeeeee 3 and OUT. At 9:05 they started clearing our table as if to say" we are closed". Too bad, take care of your customers first. Would I go back no. It is trash compared to the one on 82nd street that closed.
