What customer service? There isn't any at all here! The woman "working" was so uninterested in helping us it was painful to be in there. She didn't greet us or any of the other customers who walked in. She barely spoke to my friend who actually made a purchase...nor did she thank her for the purchase! They also have a snarky sign posted on the wall about not stealing from a small business so they can stay in business...I have an idea...how about you help the customers who are actually shopping local!!! That would help you stay in business and deter theft! The store used to be great in their old location, it is way too crowded now. They had some cute things but I refuse to purchase anything in a place that doesn't treat me well. I doubt I'll be back, there are so many great boutiques in Rochester to support. read more

Fun books, socks, scarves, trinkets and every imaginable gifts possible. UofM and MSU items too. Similar to the same namesake shop in Berkley. This shop is smaller and so packed, wall to wall. Somehow feels overwhelming because there's so much. This kind of shop requires some real browsing time to find anything worth buying at all. read more

We were in here yesterday, and it is a very cute store with a good selection, however the poor person at the cashier seemed very distraught. The store has quite a few people in there and their were only 2 employees working. No job should make someone feel like that... I just hope they are OK. Management/the owner should have support for their employees and it did not look like there was much of that. They were young. The other time we were in here was a few months ago, and it was very busy and they only had one person working. They looked extremely stressed out! Which is the whole reason I'm writing this... because this is now twice. From a customers perspective shopping at a small business, I personally wouldn't want to give my money to a place that treats there staff like this. Also I noticed a lot of the items they sell you can get for 1/3 the price on Amazon and there jewlery is cheap and not hypoallergenic. Otherwise a pretty good selection and they will gift wrap items for you if you ask which is nice. read more

Whimsy meets old train depot! Catching Fireflies is the perfect place to find a special gift. I find myself walking around for at least 30+ minutes when I visit because there is so much to look at and this place is not very big! The place is just off main street and you cannot miss the colorful building. There is also history attached to this location, so be sure to check out the historical marker next to the building. Parking is just behind the place and is free. Or you can find meter parking or park at the library (free) and walk over. The staff are always friendly and offer to gift wrap your purchase. Or they will include gift wrapping materials and you can wrap at home. Such a nice added touch. But I will say this can make the line pretty slow. COVID-19 wise - staff wear masks and guests are expected to wear masks as well. There is a gift for anyone here, even a hard-to-buy dad or brother. The store is sectioned off into type of gifts. Some sections include: Wedding, pets, golf, Michigan, baby, cooking, homemade products like soaps/candles, children toys, and gag gifts to name a few. The holidays also bring gifts such as ornaments, etc. for the holidays. They do occasionally do coupons in the local Rochester Area mailer - so be sure to clip those! read more

I love their website, where you can buy items direct, as you may need to, since their store only stays open until 6 pm and is closed on Sundays during prime shopping hours. The staff is always friendly, and they offer complimentary gift wrapping services and have online contests every month that you will want to enter. There are many things I love about this store. They have unique gifts and collectibles. They have a lot of Michigan items and support local artists/ vendors. You always find things to purchase that you've never even realized that you need or want. My only complaint is the line to purchase. It seems like it goes pretty slowly and is not organized. This place is the BOMB!!!!! I am like a moth to a flame level attracted to this quirky fun gift shop of love! There are two locations, downtown Rochester and Berkley. I have been to both. I adore both. Rochester's location is in a brightly colored house right downtown. They usually have a vintage bicycle outside with a sign on it. Do yourself a favor and go inside. If it is a Saturday stop at the farmers market first. They are often their passing out butterfly and bird shape chip clips and 3 dollar off coupons! Inside you will find darling handbags, retro candy, wall art full of positive affirmations or something surely to put a smile on your face, stunning, unique jewelry, some of which is fair trade, things for babies, things for the kitchen, cocktail napkins, back to school stuff, rainbow makers, brick a brak, nick nack, things that just appear magical....Stuff for pets, candles, college gear, sandwich shapers, my beloved miniature glass figurines, kissing chihuahua salt and pepper shakers, spa treatments, iced teas....all sorts of wunderment. I really enjoy coming to this store with my wife. My son even likes it. We always shop here for those people who already own everything. They have a lot of small handmade gifts. They also have a great selection of greeting cards that you can't find at your local Target or Walgreens. I really enjoy walking around the entire store. This little shop is the bomb for small home and jewelry gifts. We shop here every Christmas with our kids since they love all the little trinkets, picture framing, gags, and gifts. They have your special MSU or UofM fan in mind here too. There is a section for special sports gifts. And they have old time candy like where you pick out of large jars. They have books, small cloth items, Christmas decorations, and more here. We especially like the free wrapping paper for gifts. The ladies working here are always very friendly and helpful. This store reminds me of a hippie fairytale and I have a bit of hippie in me. There is stationary, magnets, shirts, jewelry, picture frames, and several other items you could think of that would be in this type of store. I bought a Michigan shirt from there and I love it.
