I'm torn... The vets are great. They always get you in, even on short notice. However, they recommend bringing in your cats for two checkups per year and they rip you off every chance. It seems like they are only in it for the money. After I told several people that they estimated $1,800 for my cat's canine tooth extraction and none of them had ever paid that much when they had their cats' teeth taken out, I asked other vets for quotes. All other quotes I received were only a third of what CCC estimated. Don't even ask me how much money I already left there for other things. I guess, if you're rich and don't mind getting ripped off, it's a great place and they take good care of your cats. read more

I've only been coming to CCC since April but have been greatly impressed with the staff and level of care. One of my new kittens declined very quickly over a weekend and was diagnosed with FIP. Having to euthanize her was one of the hardest decisions I've ever had to make, but Dr. Parks and the staff showed so much love and kindness to us both during the process. I'm very grateful they were there to make sure it was as painless as possible. The staff has also been great in monitoring my other kitten, their exams are thorough and they explain everything that is happening in a clear and concise manner. I've always felt well informed about my kitten's health and been presented with all the best options. CCC is not a cheap place for vet care, but it's the best you can get if you have a kitty. I'm not going to complain about the Veterinarians, because the one I had was very good. If you call and leave a message for someone to call you back don't expect it anytime soon or even that same day. And if you have lab tests run don't expect them to call you back with the results, you will need to call and check to see when they come in and that may be several phone calls. You would think if you paid for the lab results that they would call you back to give you the results. There are plenty of veterinarian clinics around, I would not recommend this one. read more

These people saved my cat's life. Another vet had diagnosed his problem incorrectly, although I knew what was wrong. He had pancreatitis. He had it before, and it was almost fatal then. That vet refused to even listen to what I had to say even after showing them his medical a records. I was lucky to find Cat Care Clinic and Dr Parks. They showed that they cared about their customers just as much as they care about the care they provide to the animals change my 1 star reviews at first to a 5 star review. Cat Car Clinic is an amazing place to take your pets. They take great care of my cats when doing any kind of procedure (from surgery to grooming), their facilities have all required equipment for all sorts of tests (ultrasound, blood work, etc) and all doctors are very knowledgeable and really care about our pets. Rachel is amazing and is always taking great care of my cats. She is always following after any procedure and genuinely cares about our cats and makes sure we have all support we need. I cannot say enough good things about this place. The staff here are professionals! And they're (as they should be) crazy about cats. They snuggled and coddled my generally very anxious, skeptical, and high strung Ziggaliscious into submission. They gave us a little catnip pillow to calm him AND a bonus bag of fresh nip to take home. Suffice to say, Ziggy was in stoner's paradise and didn't even care that an exam was happening. They answered all of my questions without seeming like they were on a timeline, provided an estimate for care WITHOUT me asking (this has never happened at any of my other vets), and outlined several options for healthcare without being judgmental. They also promptly emailed me a summary of care for the visit which was a really nice reminder of everything we talked about during the exam. They've always been able to get me in, even on freakishly short notice, as when Lumpkin ate half an aloe plant and I panicked. It's not five stars because I think sometimes they recommend over-treatment, like a special diet for her "allergies" ("Live with it, Catkin," I said, and she agreed), but I'd rather they over-treat than under-treat. Also, they have an agreement with the Dane Country Humane Society, so if you adopt a kitty there you get a discount on your first visit. The cats-only atmosphere is nice, too, as I'm not sure Lumpkin's reaction to a pit bull would be pretty. read more

The Cat Care Clinic (CCC), in my opinion, provides the finest care for felines in the area. They are incredibly knowledgeable, have state of the art medical facilities, and I think are the best diagnosticians (I've heard this from other local vets too). The staff are friendly and professional. The vets take their time with you and will explain procedures/care as much as you would like. I do all of my routine exams with CCC. As others have mentioned, this very high level of care comes at a price. The CCC is more expensive than other local vets that I've used. It's like taking your Jaguar to a certified Jaguar dealer who works only on Jag's versus taking your precious car to a quick service place with technicians who only see Jag's once in a while. I do take my cats to another vet for some procedures because of cost; I'm not a wealthy man. However if money weren't a notable concern for me, I would use CCC exclusively. read more

I took my cat to the Cat Care Clinic for a second opinion. His liver enzymes were high and it was possible that he had cancer. To start with everything went well. Everyone was kind and seemed concerned about my cat's well being. They had to put a tube in my cat's neck in order to feed him to help him start gaining weight. As he was not eating enough on his own. After I brought him hone, I had to take him back the next day because he had an infection in his neck. It smelled terrible. They changed his bandage and gave me antibiotics, sent us home. I then had to take him back every three days for them to change the bandage at $65 each time. There was one visit in which they wanted to give him fluids because he had a fever. They called us to come in to pick him and we went home. I received a voicemail shortly there after from the clinic because they forgot to give him the fluids. One of the last times I took him in for a bandage change, the bandage fell off within hours of coming home. I took him back in again two days later expressing concern that the tube seemed loose. They ended up taking out the tube because it was no longer secure. In one day, I was back in the clinic because he became lethargic and he was not eating on his own. I was told they can put the tube back in, do an ultra sound to check to see what was going on with his abdomen where they thought the cancer was. They would also take samples to send in to see if they can identify what type of cancer he had. In that conversation we talked about next steps if he had cancer, each type and the treatment for each one. Later that day, I went back to pick him up. We waited 30 minutes because he was waking up from the anesthesia. We paid for the visit and all the drugs they gave us. The doctor came out and said she wanted us to take him to an emergency vet clinic to be monitored because his temp was low and so was his blood pressure. She said that his normal after surgery. She also said that if we would decide to do chemo we would be working with that clinic. So it would be good to establish a relationship with them. The doctor said she would send his file to that clinic. We got to the emergency vet, I notice my cat was not acting right. The vet tech took him in and called me to get a history of his health. She said the Cat Care Clinic had not sent over his file. I tried to call the Cat Care Clinic to have file sent, but they were closed. I gave the tech a copy of my receipt that showed the meds they gave him for anesthesia. The vet called me to tell him that he was not going to make it. They tried to reverse the meds he was given but it wasn't working. My husband and I went into the clinic to say good bye and once he was handed to us, he passed away. The next day the Cat Care Clinic called me, I asked Dr. Kelton why she did not tell me that he was not going to make it? I asked why she gave us false hope that he was going to be "monitored" and then go home. I told her to please let me know his test results over email, as I did not want to speak with them. Later that day , Dr Parks called me and said to call her back she had the test results. I sent an email asking them to just email me the test results and expressed my concerns on how the whole situation was handled. Especially, that I paid over $175 in meds the night he died, when they knew he was not going to make it. Not to mention paying for the emergency vet to "monitor" him, when he died within 30 minutes of arrival. I asked for a refund for a portion of the bill, since they were not honest with me. When they emailed me back, they took no responsibility for what had happened. Claimed that they told me there was chance he could die from the surgery, which they did not. If they had, I would not have the surgery done. They never offered a refund. The money I spent there was not the issue, it was the lack of respect to be honest. If I knew he was not going to make it, I would have taken him home to allow him to die there instead of at another vet. This clinic's focus is mainly money money money. The doctors start out seeming very compassionate, but in the end of my situation they lied to me and I loss the chance to allow my cat to die at home. They take no responsibility for what happened, when both my husband and I heard exactly the same thing she told us, which was he would be monitored then we could take him home. I would not recommend going to his clinic . If you have a cat that is very ill, I suggest the UW Animal Hospital or Madison Emergency Vet Clinic. If your cat needs a check up or shots, there are other clinics that can perform the same procedures as the Cat Care Clinic for less $$ and are honest. read more

My husband and I have this incredible cat named Echo, he's got such a huge personality but last week we wasn't acting like himself, he stopped eating/drinking water (he never really liked water all that much, I change their water everyday and put ice cubes in their dish). I knew Echo was having a hard time going poo, I changed his probiotic and it was A HUGE FREAKING MISTAKE, I went from a probiotic that we mixed with a bit of water to one that you put in cat food!!!! HIGE MISTAKE cuz when Echo wasn't that hungry (he's a picky eater, yes cats can be very picky), he just stopped eating, eating so little he wasn't getting the probiotic's he needed and yes I SHOULD have syringe feed him the probiotic but I truly thought he was getting the probiotic in his food. After about 3 days of not eating I called the Cat Care Clinic, our vet was Dr. Luther, she's absolutely ONE OF THE BEST VETS I HAVE COME ACOSS!!! She CARED SO MUCH FOR OUR LIL BUBBY!! Echo is one of a kind and Dr. Luther was not only kind and professional, she discussed different payment options with us that fit different budgets! The staff at the Cat Care Clinic are non judgmental (which is HUGE in the vet business) they checked up on our precious lil guy and helped me thru an incredibly difficult time as just a week and a half before this sit with Echo my Mom died suddenly, she understood that losing another family member would be devastating and not necessary! if your searching for a go-to vet plz go to the Cat Care Clinic!! you won't be disappointed!!! very caring, compassionate and professional!! 5(00) stars!! They have the widest variety of options for treatment and medical care available, with lots of TLC for your kitty every visit. Always a pleasure to come in to the clinic. When my 23 year old cat finally passed away the staff at the cat care clinic went above and beyond. Truly heartwarming, I will always appreciate the kindness and support I received from everyone. I created a Yelp account just to write this review. In full disclosure: I'm a first-time cat owner, so my frame of reference may differ from other reviewers. However, I feel confident in saying that the Cat Care Clinic is *out of this world* wonderful! I adopted a six-month-old kitten last fall from a local shelter, and with her came a coupon for a free initial check-up at CCC. They were SO wonderful on our first visit, I didn't even consider trying another vet. Little Lucy absolutely loves going here! In fact, she sits by the door in the exam room, waiting for Dr. Bunger and Tamara to come in (and greets them by flopping over and demanding belly rubs). Not only do they provide expert health care for some of Lucy's ongoing issues, but they also give me great general tips on cat parenthood. They noted how smart and active Lucy is, and recommended that I try and teach her some tricks so she has something to do. Sure enough, my cat now sits on command and fetches. The only slight bummer about CCC is that it does seem a little pricey...then again, I don't have a frame of reference. Even so, the staff is so superb, it's well worth it! Cat Care Clinic - Little Lucy's first visit to the CCC! - Veterinarians Near Me - Madison, Wisconsin

I took both my cats there when I first adopted them due to their agreement with local shelters (free first visit if adopted from the shelter). While I appreciated that they focused specifically on cats, I was not impressed with their pushiness on recommendations and overpricing. For example, they recommended extra shots of vaccines (just in case) although the cats were up to date on all their vaccinations when I adopted them. When I took my cats to a another clinic, they were surprised that the extra shots were recommended. They also had cat generalists and cat specialists. It cost more to see a cat specialists than it did to see a cat generalist. I have no idea what the difference is. read more

I've taken all of my cats to this clinic when I lived in Madison and I was very happy with the service and care that my cats received. Dr. Illona Rodan was their vet and she is fantastic! I only wish I could find a human doc that had such a great bedside manner. She is just a natural handling cats and she really gives you a good amount of time to ask questions. One of my cats had cancer and Dr. Rodan was very understanding about my decision to treat the pain and keep her comfortable until it was time to euthanize her (I couldn't afford to go the route of treating the cancer). Ultimately, my cat lived for quite awhile and because the cost of her pains meds and such was building up, Dr. Rodan opted to subsidize some of my expenses with money from a donation fund. It was very helpful and as a result, I was able to afford to keep my cat around until it was obvious that she was ready to pass on. Dr. Rodan was very kind, gentle and respectful when it came time to euthanize my cat. She really made a painful experience a bit more bearable. My only reason for not giving this place 5 stars is because the price of some of their routine stuff (wellness exams and such) are a bit high relative to others in the area. read more

My boyfriend and I took our cat here last week because he had a cold. I made my appointment over the phone and was impressed right away. The gentleman on the phone was very helpful. We visited the new location on East Wash and it is beautiful and there was public parking under the building which was awesome. We did not want to have to carry our sick cat any farther than we needed to. After walking in we were immediately greeted with a warm welcome and shown back to the exam room. The entire staff were so sweet and so knowledgeable. They made it so comfortable for us and our cat. The rooms were very cool and everything in them were designed with cats in mind. The decorative shelves on the walls and actually for cats to hang out on. Everyone we met loved our cat and made him comfortable too. He is timid and hides in new situations/environments but at Cat Care Clinic he was wandering around and rubbing up on staff asking for treats. An amazing experience I'm actually excited to go back for our cats next check up! read more

The clinic is a wonderful place to take your cat. Dr. Rodan has outstanding qualifications and is nationally known for her expertise. All of the staff are so very caring and they did everything they could to save our cat this summer. She sadly died at the clinic (for reasons beyond any of their control), but they did everything to comfort us, even opening up the clinic in the evening on a Saturday so we could say our last goodbyes. We received several wonderful notes of condolence that went above and beyond what we would have expected. Their care of all of our cats over the years has been so comprehensive and we are so impressed by their attention to every detail. Can't recommend the Cat Care Clinic enough!! read more

I cannot rave enough about the Cat Care Clinic. My cat and I moved to Madison a few months ago, and unfortunately my cat's health went downhill very suddenly after the move. Dr. Rodan and Dr. Bunger were wonderful vets to my cat. During her visits they would give her catnip pillow toys (which she absolutely loved!) and spent time playing with her and getting to know her before each exam. I had never seen my cat so comfortable at a veterinary clinic before. Additionally, after every visit they would both call and e-mail to check on how she was doing. I felt like they genuinely cared, which I think is really rare (other vets in the past couldn't even remember her name). Ultimately, I had to make a tough choice to put her down and during this time Dr. Bunger was really honest with me and helped me weigh the options to determine what would be the best decision for my cat. The entire clinic was so caring and gave me beautiful cards with thoughtful handwritten comments. The Cat Care Clinic may be a little more expensive than your average veterinary clinic, but I truly believe it's 100% worth the cost (especially for an older cat or a cat with special needs). I'm so glad that I had the opportunity to meet the doctors and staff and that I knew my cat was in the very best hands at the end of her life. If I adopt another cat during my time in Madison, I will most definitely return to this clinic. read more
