Horrible experience. My Wife called in before 8:00 pm and told the emergency Clinic what our problem was. She was told to come in. I called just after 8:00 and told them we had a female dog with a puppy stuck coming out. We have been breeding and showing for over forty years. We do not raise pups to sell, just to Show and as pets for ourselves. I said we realized that pup would probably not live, but we wanted a C Section done for the other pup she had. We had scheduled a Section for two days later. My Wife got there a little after 9:00. They looked the Mother over and said the pup inside had a good healthy heartbeat. They said she could go and have a sandwich while she waited. She came back and waited and waited. About 12:00, they came out and said the pup had died. From a healthy heartbeat to a dead puppy. A C Section doesn't take 3 hours. They said it took a while to "get ready". This was a very healthy female that lived in our house with us. It seems like they don't care about the Mother being in pain during this and my Wife being notified. Thought they could be trusted.

Our more needy child who UW Veterinary ER has seen twice. Dr. Byer really improved her life.

We found ourselves back at the UW Emergency Room over the weekend because our kitten found her way into eating a lily plant, which we learned are cat poison, basically. We brought all three cats who had potentially been exposed and ER Tech Kasey and Dr. Anderson received us at close to 1:00 am and stuck it out with us until last 3:15 am. They took care of all three of our kids, making sure that the kitten threw up and we could flush out the toxins as soon as possible. They understood the need to treat and examine the other cats and they were upfront with information, costs, procedures, injections, etc. I'm so glad they were there when we needed them. On recommendation, I returned and brought two of them for follow up bloodwork and Dr. Taylor helped us out, again treating our kids with so much care and making me feel better as a cat mom. We love UW.

My cat and I have always had the best experiences here. The breadth and depth of care available is amazing. I've had interactions with Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, Cardiology, and Nuclear Medicine. All of the doctors seem very knowledgeable in their fields. It's a teaching hospital, so sometimes I feel like I'm repeating myself a lot. But I understand that the residents are learning their craft, so patience is necessary at times. Overall, this is probably the best veterinary hospital in the Midwest.

They saved our boy from DKA after a very bad experience across town at VCA. It's worth the drive.

He didn't approve of my getting my kitty's meds from Chewy (drastically lower cost) or the local compounding pharmacy. Her initial prescription was ordered by his cooperating pharmacy on the east coast. 2 click pens were paid for (per my call to that pharmacy) but I was only given 1, yet paid for 2, later the 2nd was "given to me as a courtesy". The estimate was lowered from $610 to just under $200 for shots and weight, no exam. My little girl was howling and hissing after being manhandled. The building is deteriorating, walkway broken up with lots of debris, lots of scratches and chips in exam rooms, lots of overpriced "products" for sale, staff is harried and seemingly overwhelmed. We are moving on.

Having had bad…read moreveterinary experiences before, I was a little fussy about who I wanted to care for my animal. I found West Towne Veterinary online and went to check it out. I got there right before closing and Dr. Ken was kind enough to take time out of his evening to tell me about their cat friendly practice and show me around the clinic, including the areas that they perform surgeries and teeth cleanings. Dr. Ken has now been daisy's vet for the past three years and I can't say enough about the exceptional care they have provided to her! From the friendly office staff, to getting her in for emergency appointments... they even have cat boarding and a cat gym! They also offer "cats night out" events where your cat can socialize with other cats and you can learn information on how to better care for your pet. And to top everything off, Dr. Ken is one of those veterinarians that paddle boards and home brews. Can't beat that-- I wouldn't go anywhere else!
