The folks at Waunakee Vet Clinic were great with my cat, even sitting on the floor with her.

Our dog was a patient at Pineview Animal Hospital for over 12 years. Recently, she experienced a…read moresudden and severe neurological decline and became completely unable to walk. Given her age and a probable brain stem tumor diagnosis, I contacted the hospital specifically requesting to speak directly with her veterinarian to discuss what was happening and to problem-solve next steps, including prognosis and quality-of-life considerations. I was unable to speak with a veterinarian. After multiple calls and detailed explanations to reception staff, the only guidance relayed to me was to take her to the emergency room, with no further discussion, reassessment, or quality-of-life conversation. When I asked why, I was told the practice was "a clinic, not a hospital," which was confusing given the hospital designation and our long-standing relationship. Because I could not have a direct conversation with the veterinarian, we sought a second opinion. Under the new veterinarian's care, our dog's diagnosis and medications were completely reassessed and contradicted, and she has shown significant improvement in a very short period of time. We were very close to making an irreversible end-of-life decision based on indirect communication and limited engagement. For a senior dog in acute crisis and a family seeking guidance, we expected more thoughtful involvement and direct communication. I hope the practice reflects on how situations like this are handled in the future.

Do not take your beloved pet here…read more Our family had a wonderful experience for 12 years with our first dog under the ownership of Dr. Laura Meffert and Dr. Julie James. Based on this wonderful past experience we brought our newest furry family member to Pineview. However our recent experiences have left us infuriated at the treatment of our dog and do NOT recommend brining your pets to them. Under the new management (a corporation called Mission Veterinary Partners), the practice no longer allows you to sit in during the appointment with your dog. Which has led to 2 major concerns as we have not been able to observe what is actually being done during the visit. First concern, after having another dentist look over our dogs teeth he was shocked at what he saw had been missed--he explained that it should have been caught at our dogs 6 month appointment. What was missed will lead to periodontal disease and therefore will require expensive work as our dog is now over a year old. Second concern is that not once, but 3 times our dog became incredibly ill after spending the night at the kennel. Each time we have followed up we have received vague and unhelpful answers as to what could have happened during their stay. Most recently andobject appeared in our dogs stool despite having given clear instructions that nothing should be left in their kennel. This led to a visit to the emergency room. A third minor annoyance was to learn that despite being told and paying for our dogs nails to be trimmed, they were in fact not as was pointed out by the trainer we went to shortly after the appointment at Pineview. After reaching out to management first and receiving no acknowledgment of wrongdoing we have decided to take our dog somewhere we can trust. And based on these experiences feel strongly to leave this review.

I grew up in Deforest and we took our dog to B&R. All I remember is that my mother hated how they…read moretreated her and our dog. 25 years later, I decided to give them a second chance with my newly adopted dog. It was very easy to make an appointment and send records. I showed up for my appointment 15 minutes early knowing that I needed to fill out paperwork. The receptionist was visibly and verbally upset that we were early. The clinic was dirty and smelled very strongly of urine. The exam room was no better. The appointment for my dog was to establish care. However, I was recommended to do all sorts of treatments and tests that made the appointment cost me almost $1000. The things I did turn down, I was guilt tripped and belittled for declining. There is a sign that says "Let the staff restrain your pet." However the "assistant" looked so scared of my dog that she just stood there. I restained my own dog for them. 1 week later, I needed a refill and was put on hold. They never took me off hold l, so I hung up after 15 minutes. They emailed me to pick up my dog's prescription later in the week. Fast forward to the dog's dental and mass removal. Dropped the dog off at 8am in the morning and heard nothing. I called at 2:30pm wondering how my dog was. They hadn't even gotten to it yet, claiming an emergency kept them busy. I asked to reschedule and they told me no. They said the dog will be done by 6pm. When I picked the dog up, it was groggy and bleeding from it's incision. I was told that was normal. The next day, the bleeding stopped, but the dog was very uncomfortable. Appetite was good, but the dog had diarrhea. Emailed the vet with an update. The vet called me back but was very dismissive and offered little help. Google helped me more. 1 week post surgery, the incision opened up and started bleeding again. Being during the day, I called B&R to get my dog in, since they will help emergencies as previously told. But no answer. After the emergency clinic visit somewhere else, I transferred my records. The dog is doing great and loves their new vet.

I asked for a call back from the Dr. got none. Was going to start palladia (a chemo drug) for my cat and was confused about when labs needed to be done, etc. called and again front line staff was rude, unhelpful. I made an appointment to follow up after a week of medication and hung up. Hours later I received a text saying I needed to have labs done before I started a medication for my cat , which I had already given him, and wouldn't have if front line staff had been more engaged, ie looked up his chart I called for clarification. When I asked if I was speaking to the person who answered earlier she said yes and hung up on me. I called back a bit later and was transferred to a vet who told me she would care for my pet but couldn't have me "curse at the staff." That never happened. At all. I then told her I didn't trust the establishment to care for my cat as I couldn't trust information would get where it needed to be properly since front line had lied and they were going to co-sign I was immediately kicked out of the app which was weird to me since I couldn't get my pets information I asked to have the records sent to a different vet. When I arrived they said they hadn't gotten them. This was days later Today I requested them sent to me. I now see why I was kicked out the app. They had a whole made up story in the chart about the phone call where I supposedly cursed at the front line staff. Never happened. But now it's in my pets chart that is transferred to all future vets. Absolutely unbelievable. It's almost laughable, except these people are putting false information into charts to cover their poor behavior. Their subpar service. What are they saying they have done to our pets that isn't true? What else have they written to cover for other poor service?
