Eastside Veterinary Clinic - Stevie our 16 yr old golden retriever

Eastside Veterinary Clinic

Eastside had a jammed schedule, but they made the space to see my pup, regardless. The entire visit ended up as an entire checkup, and we resumed the vaccine schedule where the Humane Society left off. Since then, I have returned for another check up and for some boosters on the vaccines. Dr. Joe and Chris take their time in explaining pet medicine and biology in detail but an easy to understand manner. I appreciate the extra effort it takes to explain a complex biochemical system to laymen. Thank you for keeping your pet owners knowledgeable! Dr. Joe also handled a frantic call I made regarding blood in vomit. Everyone knows that blood in vomit and stool can be quite bad. He calmed me down, and we were able to figure out the pup had cut himself on a toy just over the phone. I found the evidence. He could have had me come into the clinic and charged $35 just to walk in the door, but instead time was taken out to provide a free consult over the phone. I very much appreciate all of this effort! If you live on the Eastside, make Dr. Joe your regular vet. You won't regret it. This is an easy five stars.

Stevie had a very lg mass on her back that kept getting infected. After a couple rounds of antibiotics and talking with the Dr Joe we both agreed it needed to be removed. My husband and I were nervous about a 16 yr old dog having surgery. The surgery went so well and Joe and Chris are the most compassionate people and true lover of animals. We went to pick stevie up that night they had her on a blanket in the office next to chris. We absolutely have the best vet in madison which I've known since she was going as a puppy to them Stevie is doing great about 6 weeks post surgery no pain and back to going for our 1 mile walks a day. I truly believe most other vets would of said it's time to put her down in same situation. Dr Joe with his knowledge and skills and compassion has given us the gift of more time how ever long that may be with our sweet Stevie Thankyou Elin Malliet

One of my goldens has chronic leukemia, 3 years ago we were told he only had another year to live as most dogs dont live that long with the disease, we went to see Dr. Dawn and she prescribed herbal medicines for him and his lymphocyte levels have slowed. He is happy, still does therapy work and likes his walks. My spaniels have seen the benefits of acupuncture. Dr. Dawn is caring, kind, and very gentle. She is knowledgeable and will explain in great detail how Chinese medicine works. I would recommend her to all pet owners. She has made a difference in how my dogs feel, thus made a difference in their life.

She would not have lived to 15 without Dr Lynne's care. She gave our girl her quality of life back. Dr Lynne's was so patient with our skittish/nervous girl and wore her down with the best treats around! We got to a point where Harper would lay down with all of her accupuncture needles and actually relax to let them work. I think she also know how helpful this care was for her. After a visit she could run across the yard again because she felt so good! It was life changing for all of us and we're so grateful for the extra time together. I couldn't recommend Dr Lynne more. You'll be so thankful you went!

He takes the best care of your pets from the beginning to the end . He cares about not only your pet but the client as well. Just lost my little pal Widget last week . Dr Karlburg treated my dog with kindness and knew how hard it was for me to make that decision. He and Tina helped me through a very hard time. Can not Thank them enough.

I read another review under "Beltline Animal Hospital" about how Dr. K tells his clients to feed…read moretheir pets Purina. He had better get with the times! I doubt that he has updated his thinking since he graduated Vet School in the 1960's or 1970's(?) He evidently tells all his clients to feed Purina to their pets. I recently had to speak with him by phone, as I adopted a cat from one of his clients. One of my questions was why he told this client to feed the cat Purina, when it was full of "junk" like fillers and by - products. He was abrupt, defensive, condescending and totally put out with ALL of my questions, including necessary info about the kitty's background. Could this be why he always answers his own phone? (No business, or is he a jerk to everyone, and cannot keep help?). Many years ago, when we first moved to Madison, my daughter came frantically to me as I was showering, and said her pet parakeet was very ill and falling off his perch. I told her to call around and see if any Vet could see "Freddie" on short notice. I got out of the shower and threw a towel on my wet hair and quickly got dressed. While my daughter drove, I held her little bird to my chest and soothed him. When we arrived at Beltline Hospital, Dr. K. went over to our bird's cage (which he was now in) and yanked him out with such force that he slammed the bird's head on the side of the cage door. I knew then he broke that little bird's neck. I quickly took him from Dr. K., and "Freddie" died in my hands. Although I firmly think our parakeet would have passed anyway, what the Vet did was just absolutely horrible!! With my daughter and I both crying, Dr. K. said there would be no charge (why should there be? He actually killed the bird!) We left that day and have not set foot in that "so called" Vet Hospital since! PLEASE take your much loved pets elsewhere!

She continued to look at me like I had asked some ridiculous request and said if it's an appointment I'm asking for she can look at next week but they are only drop off visits. They just lost all the business from me for my new pet and any future pets. They must not understand what pet health guarantees are and they clearly don't believe in building a great relationship with clients if they don't allow new pet owners in the visits. If this is how the front desk lady treats people I dont even want to imagine how the rest of the staff would be if they ever took the time to actually meet with pet owners face to face.
