My favorite iced vanilla latte in Aptos! My husband always gets the Creamy Beige which is blended. We take visiting family and friends here and it never disappoints. Cute place in Aptos Village with a fun and relaxed vibe. It's always packed, but not overly crowded. We're not from the area but visited Cat & Cloud last time we were in town and loved it. This location is newer with plenty of parking and space inside to sit and chat. We were greeted promptly at the counter and our order--black coffee no room & a decaf oat milk vanilla latte--came up quickly. Both the coffee and espresso drink were great. Um no. I got a raspberry iced Matcha with almond milk and it was barely green and didn't have much flavor at all. Almost chalky for eight dollars. I go to other places in town and get way better iced Matcha for less of the price. also, I think it was oat milk and not almond milk because it tasted way more thick. read more

We were in town for a chill weekend at a friend's beach house in Aptos, and naturally, coffee was a must. Enter: Cat & Cloud -- a spot with serious vibes. From the moment we saw the signage, we knew this place had personality. The branding is on point -- soft pink and blue hues, totally inviting, and the kind of place you'd love to post up at for a slow morning. Unfortunately, with two young toddlers in tow, we had to take our drinks to go. Still, it was impossible not to soak up the energy of the space -- it's upbeat, stylish, and clearly a local favorite. I wish I remembered the name of our drink, but it was basically a frozen iced coffee that puts any Frappuccino to shame. Rich, creamy, and bursting with quality coffee flavor -- you can taste the difference. Whatever milk or cream they used? Absolute perfection. The staff deserves a shout-out too. Despite it being busy (Sunday morning rush), they were friendly, quick, and super knowledgeable when we asked for drink recs. This is our go to coffee shop when we are going south out of town. It's not super close to the freeway but I rather drive a little farther to get really good coffee than to stop somewhere immediately off the freeway for just average coffee. Their Grab-N-Go Burrito is decent but it lacks in comparison to THE Breakfast Burrito from their location on the west side. That makes sense though as this location does not have a kitchen like the west side location does. The people who work at this location are friendly as always and are willing to answer any questions you may have about the menu. If you live in Aptos and have not tried Cat & Cloud coffee, please give it a try. I am pretty sure you will thank me later read more

Tried this coffee shop on our way home from visiting family in Aptos. Their Everything toast and avocado toast were delicious. Lemon vinaigrette gave it a nice tangy touch. Stopped by to grab a breakfast burrito today. It's pre-made and they heat it up for you. Just have chorizo and egg and also a tofu and egg. Chorizo was good, nicely done and plenty big. Either the chorizo (from El Salchero) or something else had a faint cinnamon taste that detracted me from fully enjoying the experience. Anyway, not bad, but the best C&C burritos are on the West side shop. read more

Drinks taste great, ambiance is open and airy and bustling, and you can get work done here as long as you don't mind the noise and you're able to get a table (it can get busy) as there's wifi and plenty of outlets. Removing two stars because the upcharge for oat or almond milk is $1.80, which is just exploitative. It doesn't cost that much more for them to make a latte with oat milk--the cost of milk in general is built into the normal price of the drinks (unsurprisingly high given that it's a hip local coffee shop) so charging almost $2 extra is just something they're doing because they can get away with it. read more

Love the vibes here! Simple, straightforward menu, and the staff is super friendly! I've been here a handful of times and I wish I lived closer so that this could be my everyday coffee spot. The interior is super bright and airy and there is an abundance of seating. They have multiple locations in Santa Cruz County, but the Aptos location is the one I've patroned. Their Lavender latte is my personal favorite (iced or hot), and their vanilla latte is solid. For breakfast you can't miss The "Other" Cat & Cloud Burrito (Pork chorizo, scrambled eggs, crispy potatoes, flour tortilla with housemade tomatillo salsa on the side) which is so flavorful; their salsa is also fire! If you're looking for something on the healthier side, their Coconut Creme & Berries Chia Oat Porridge is really yummy too. Cat & Cloud Coffee is a favorite spot for many locals. Co-founded by three industry veterans, it is clear they know exactly how to blend great coffee with a welcoming atmosphere. The vibe is bright, airy, and relaxed, with lots of joggers, bikers, and mom's with strollers and people with dogs milling around outside. The coffee is a B+ for me - better than corporate coffee, but not my favorite in the Santa Cruz area (i.e., check out 11th Hour Coffee, Venus Pie Trap, Coffee Conspiracy, Castelli's, California Coffee for my favorites). That said, their cappuccino is my favorite coffee option and on par with Norma Jean's cappuccino across the parking lot as it is well balanced and smooth. The chai is very good and goes well with a gluten-free scone or one of many other pastry or breakfast options. The staff gets an A in friendliness as they are always smiling, welcoming, and friendly. The space itself is spacious with indoor and outdoor seating, *but* I don't feel like I could park here for an hour on my laptop like I could at Starbucks or Peet's across the way. This location can get busy, especially in the morning before lunch, but the baristas are very efficient and don't sacrifice quality for speed. They do everything right - so the big quesetion for you is whether you like their coffee roast vs. other options in the area. Cat & Cloud is a solid B+ for me, i.e. 4-stars, and it is an A (5-stars) for many locals. read more

Cat & Cloud does a great job in their packaging which is probably why we always come back here for coffee beans. Their design is so fun and vibrant. The cafe itself is pretty loud. Its lively but it may be difficult to get work done in. The music is played loud and theres always a line out the door. If you're looking for a good work/study spot, you might want to look elsewhere. *Creamy beige was my drink of choice. It tastes like a Starbucks frappe mocha, except not overly sugary. The coffee taste is strong and the drink is quite milky and refreshing especially on a hot day. *The breakfast burrito (vegetarian) was the most disappointing burrito I've eaten in a while. The filling is dry and mostly potatoes. The filling was extremely bland and lackluster. The green sauce really brings the burrito back to life. Its acidic and punchy yet aromatic. I could not swallow this burrito without the sauce. *Avocado toast was immensely better than the burrito in every way possible. The toast was crunchy, light and buttered. The avocado was cold yet buttery. The greens on top add a nice fresh taste. Service is a bit slow. It took about 15 minutes for our drinks to come out. There is free wifi available and its pretty fast. The drinks are priced at about $6-$7 a cup and the cup isn't huge or anything. Tip options on the ipad cost almost as much as a cup itself. Bottom line: come for a quick cup of coffee but skip the food. There are much better cafe options when it comes to food. I personally don't like loud coffee shops where you can't enjoy your company without yelling. Coffee is decent but nothing I would go out of my way for. read more

Friendly staff, cute light wood, vibrant accents of 80s color, sufficient parking, an adorable cartoon cat mascot, live plant arrangements, high ceilings, and long work tables make for a nice setting. Tons of laptop warriors hanging out here on the lazy Sunday I dropped in know this is THE spot to get some studying or work done. If you want a well crafted drink to support your efforts, you'll definitely find that here. I love Cat & Cloud but usually go to the Santa Cruz location. We decided to try the Aptos one. All the locations have different food options so I had to try their "Other Burrito". Unfortunately when we went, they only had the vegan option which was still tasty. The burrito at this location wasn't crispy on the outside. The sauce pairs so well with it! It's like a mild avocado sauce. The vanilla latte was creamy & foamy. I had mine with oat milk but was delicious. Coffee served in big mugs are only a dollar to refill. There is a lot of indoor and outdoor seating at this location. Parking can be a bit tough since there are a lot of stores in this area. And it's less than 10 minutes from Seacliff Beach! If not, there's a view from the bench outside to look at the water. read more

Santa Cruz has a lot of coffee spots, but this is definitely one of the ones I come for (usually the westside location!!) Interior: always so spacious and open. Not cramped in the slightest and usually open seating no matter when you go. It's not too loud so a great place to work, read, study. Service: I've always had great service at cat & cloud and everyone is super nice and willing to help. If you're not sure what you may like don't hesitate to ask! The drinks: My go to is pretty simple, just 16 oz iced coffee. But as seen in my picture, my friend put me on the answer and i haven't looked back. Other worthy mentions are the mocha (so nutty and delicious), the vanilla latte (a classic), and the creamy beige (for my non-lactose intolerance friends). It was OK. I decided to go here after hearing many great things from my colleagues. The baristas were very kind when taking my order and serving my drink, and the indoor space + bathroom were clean. However, I was disappointed by the matcha. It is very much on the side of Starbucks quality, but leaves a powdery aftertaste in the mouth. If you've had the Sencha powder from Costco, it tastes exactly like that. A few patrons were on their laptops so I assume there is Wi-Fi available. I used one of their gender neutral bathrooms and it was clean/tidy. I ordered an iced 16oz mocha ($5.75 + $0.75 = $6.50). It was good, but nothing spectacular. Expensive for a cup of coffee. Note, their iced drinks don't come in a branded cup. The service is extremely friendly, but slow. Paleo latte (hot) was also good but really not my preference, as I prefer espresso-based drinks over coffee-based ones.
