Try the octopus rice. It was spiced just right, and filling - it comes in a large pot and then they serve it to your plate. I also had the garlic shrimp to start which were very nice; for a decent price they had me rolling out. They were also friendly and honest (told me up front that if I ate the bread or cheese they would charge me), and the atmosphere was lovely, quiet. The desserts were homemade and they looks great but I was too full to try them. Honestly, come here for the octopus rice but based on that I'd say to try anything on the menu.

    Main course was perfect!

This little gem was located just outside our AirBnB - so we didn't visit until our last night. A pity as it was probably the BEST restaurant we tried during our 3 day Lisbon visit. Excellent food (try the octopus rice) including a memorable desert list. Service (especially Gabriel and Julian) was truly responsive and fun (they got on the table to unscrew an overhead lightbulb that was bothering my wife). A little bit on the pricey side - but we WILL definitely be back!

If you looking for great quality seafood in Bairro Alto this hidden gem is ! I had clams , yummy rosé and perfectly cooked tuna steak there , EVERYTHING there was perfection, including service... I went to 3 different /"popping " places in a neighborhood and everyone had an hour wait, stumbled upon this place and what a nice surprise! Grilled octopus was my second time there, also super yummy!Thank you guys , definitely will be back for more !!!

The "Portuguese steak" totally sucked. Def not worth the hype. However, my wife liked her grilled tuna.

Doesn't look like much when you walk past but this place is wonderful and reasonably priced. Great food and service.

It was packed with people, which was a good sign. We enjoyed all our dishes, especially the tiger prawns, octopus, and seafood rice. The sangria was average. Pastries de Bacalhau - the crust was not brown enough. May be longer time. The stuffing was flavorful but it's more the cod taste than the flavored mash potatoes which I prefer. I actually prefer the other local restaurant I tried the night before better. Caldo Verde - The potatoe part of the soup is great. Perfect viscosity but the flavor is not. It wasn't salty enough but more importantly is the flavor of the veggies and the spicy sausage they supposed to use that makes the soup taste different. Grilled giant pawns - The flavor of the prawns is not as intense as expected and hope to be. The squid ink pasta also lacked of flavor. That's disappointing. With the prawns, they should at least use the prawn shell to make sauce for the pastas. The pasta was tasteless, didn't even use enough garlic and olive oil to flavor it up. Seafood rice - Another disappointment. They used fish, small mussels and little bit of shrimp pieces along with some bigger whole shrimps and mussels. However, the rice was lack of the true seafood flavor that made from shell fish. They also added cilantro which overwhelmed the whatever left of seafood flavor. The lemonade was not a sweet lemonade but sour. Fyi. It's not fair we just went to another restaurant in the neighborhood and everything was so much better but people should know.

The fact that my husband and I got there before anyone else came, allowed us to have the most amazing conversation with the staff that works there!! Faysal greeted us and was very welcoming! As we ate dinner, Bernardo who is a waiter there, told us the history of the building etc and since no one else was there, we talked about our families and that he going to be a veterinarian...and that he has something else coming up that is going to be exciting. All through our dinner we chatted with him (as if we were having dinner at his house) and enjoyed every minute of the conversation!! It was the best part of the evening! We even got to meet Miguel the chef, and were happy to tell him his food was amazing! I can't recommend this restaurant enough!!! They only charge 19.60 euro for all you can eat!!!! I hope a lot of people read this and go to Rosa da Rua!!!

The restaurant was quaint and intimate , with a small buffet that easily fills you up. There were many options from a beef stew to a curry, a noodle dish with bacon, salad, and other options. They even explained the options to us. I truly wish we had more time in Lisbon because I would have definitely returned to try it again as the options differ nightly. I would definitely recommend this to all in Lisbon.
