The cashier will note a full pizza is a 30 minute wait, but the food comes out a lot quicker than that. Limited seating room inside, but plenty of space to eat outside under the great big tree. It was Tuesday and they had a special, taco in a bag with either Frititos, Doritos or something else. I asked for a hot dog and fries, no hot dog. Then a turkey sandwich, no turkey. I then said I would have a cheeseburger. They had no cheeseburgers ready, they would have to make it. No big deal. My wife wanted the taco with Doritos, the cashier had a bag of Fritos and then comments no Doritos. Now the line was long, all of a sudden one of the cashiers leaves with two of the cooks. We waited 15 minutes for the cheeseburger to be made. The one cook was making fries and burgers. She takes 6 cheeseburgers off the grill, puts them on a bun then starts filling French fries containers. Another 5 minutes she finally finishes the burgers, now it's luke warm. Suppose it's better than nothing, cause nothing else is around. The manager needs to get out of there office and check out the operation. The other thing, near the pop dispenser is a garbage can that looks like it was found in the dump and put back in service. Again, the manager needs to be aware and be the boss. read more

Came in clutch being open in the middle of Zion National Park. Really saved us time of having to leave the park for lunch. Hindsight, should've packed a lunch but we didn't think ahead. The menu is simple but that's ok. The trio chips and dip- the queso and salsa was fine. Salsa was warm but it's that roasted type of salsa so that didn't bother us. However, the guacamole needed some more salt and a squeeze of lime or orange juice. Luckily there's salt on the table. The turkey sandwich was nice to have after hiking all morning/afternoon. Husband liked his beer. Definitely a great place to check out if you need a break from hiking, refuel, and potty break. The views are stunning. There's also a gift shop to explore. read more

I honestly don't know why the reviews are so low. When inside Zion national park, this is the only viable food option meaning if they wanted to, they could upcharge like crazy for 3 leaves and call it salad and people would have to buy it. Instead, they have a quick and relatively affordable cafeteria food. It's not gourmet but for the price it'll do and it doesn't taste horrible. I think we were just grateful for the giant grass area where multiple families were eating, napping, and kids could run around after a long hot day hiking. The French fries were good. Cheeseburger was decent. Pizza tasted like the frozen kind. All three cookies were great. Salad was pretty good. All for around $30. Once again, if you're looking for gourmet then leave the park. But for a restful stop while you're inside and a place to get nourishment and easy eats, this is great. All of the food is over priced, everything is the type of food you would purchase premade at the store and warm up and serve. The pizza tasted like frozen pizza you just bake. They were out most of the food items we wanted. Definitely not a great stop, but you really don't have any other choices inside of the park so either can bring something or go here or leave the park. read more

Very reasonable priced breakfast buffet - similar to any hotel hot buffet, thou good jam puree, gravy and appreciate the fresh fruit. Conveniently located in the park at a shuttle stop. This Castledome Cafe must be a goldmine for the feds. The was a line out the door, and more customers coming. The menu was fairly interesting, but mostly just sandwhiches. My order was the Tuna Salad Sandwich (oddly priced at $8.02) and Combo with chips ($4.50), which was a bag of chips and a soft drink. Leave it to the feds to make it complicated. The meal totalled $12.52. An outdoor dining area was provided, many tables were provided shade, many weren't. The sandwich was good, if sloppily assembled. The chips were bagged Stacey's Pita Chips. best service and food ever. i love this place and will make the trip to zion from my home base of Ketchikan, alaska just for the food of the castle dome cafe at least twice a month. the domeburger is possibly the most delicious nectar of the gods i have ever consumed, whoever is making these burgers needs a massive raise. the glizzys are great too! the cashier jeff, from michigan, saved my life by giving me cpr when i accidentally choked on my delectable domeburger. he made sure to give me the piece of the domeburger i coughed up back so that i could savor every last bite I will recommend this cafe to everyone i meet, for the rest of my life. read more

This is the open patio area next to the Zion Lodge, a short walk from the Zion Park Shuttle Stop. Unless you're at the Zion Lodge, this is probably the only place to grab a bite (or beer!) if you're inside the park. Its basically cafeteria-style here. I ordered a cheeseburger and it was definitely on the dry side. My wife's grilled chicken sandwich was sawdust-dry, but had a tiny semblance of flavor. The fresh fruit cup wasn't all that fresh either - only grapes and pineapples seemed sweet, while honeydew chunks hard some tartness. I wonder if they squeezed some lemon juice prior to packaging in a attempt to extend shelf life. Probably not the best place to enjoy a satisfying lunch or snack, but good enough if you are desperate and just want something to replenish yourself with. It is probably OK to grab a beer on the outside patio and then proceed to the easier Emerald Pools Trail hike (3 miles round trip) across the road. read more

Would give this place negative stars if I could. Do NOT eat or spend your money here. My boyfriend and I stopped here after a long day of hiking in the park, excited to have a real meal and a beer outside. We each got a burger and split some fries. About halfway through eating my burger, I noticed a soapy/perfumey taste in my mouth. I was literally so hungry I just ignored it. However, after finishing the burger I felt what I thought was a piece of plastic in my mouth and turned out to be a fingernail clipping, which explains where the soap taste came from. I couldn't believe it and immediately felt sick to my stomach. I went to check other reviews here and based on those, I wasn't surprised. Even without the fingernail the burger and fries were cold and rubbery. I wished we had checked the Yelp reviews before stopping here and just grabbed a beer. You're better off going into town and sitting on a patio for basically the same views and better food. As someone else mentioned, this is sadly what happens when Xanterra has a monopoly on National Park resorts. read more

It's like going to the airport or an amusement park cafe, overpriced with minimal options. That being said, the food was actually pretty decent and came out fast for it being a busy weekend afternoon. If you go outside there is a "beer garden" that offers 3-4 beers on tap. $7.25 for a cup but it was really good and local. There are shaded tables and a grassy area under a tree to relax and eat on. The only place within Zion National Park along the Scenic Drive where you can get a quick eat. 1pm, temperatures in the low 80s, and it's only late April. I'm ready to eat a horse, after doing 4 hours of hiking up and back off the death defying Angels' Landing hike. I get off the free Park shuttle and walk a few steps besides the outdoor café, with tables, chairs and sun umbrellas outside of the main building. Inside there are two lines. One line is for chips, ice cream, and snacks, and the other line is for sandwiches and food that requires cooking: pizza, hamburgers, and hot dogs. Only 3 people in the second line, but one lady orders enough for the octomom, and with a lot of conditions, as if her children require the utmost care in their pizza, and are allergic to this and that -no onions, gluten free, etc. Takes 10 minutes for her to order, oblivious to the starving folks behind her. I get the chicken sandwich, and it takes them 5 minutes for the order to arrive. The chicken sandwich is pre-made, wrapped just like you see in the super markets, but can't get at the gift shop next to registration -where you can get sundries, and other refrigerated items. Why does it take 5 minutes to get a pre-wrapped sandwich? To give the impression that they hand made it, so that they can overcharge you the $6. Remember Springdale is just 5 miles away, with all it's restaurants. It's not like you are out in the boonies. Hurricane is 28 miles away. They should just put the sandwiches in the line for food that requires no cooking. Very ordinary chicken sandwich, not even up to Subway standards, and not as large as a 6" Subway, but costing more, even though it's only chicken and bread -no extras. Next time, I come back from a hike, and the tour bus has just dumped two dozen people in the line for hot food. There's no way I'm waiting in that line, and go over and get in the other line for food that requires no cooking. I get a giant pre-packaged Orville Reddenbacker blueberry muffin for $4. Great muffin but way overpriced. Xanterra has a monopoly on all concessions in the Park. Another example of what happens when there is no outside competition. Another poor value. The café opens early for breakfast, and closes at 5pm -the same time that the Red Rock Grill opens for dinner -don't want to underprice the competition! Late one evening, after dinner, but still daylight we hear a commotion, and head over to the Café. A wild turkey is pecking vigorously on the locked glass door to the café, apparently reacting adversely to its reflection in the window. Or it could be that the turkey wanted in to the café? Nobody told the turkey that they don't serve turkey sandwiches at this place! Deliveries are in the back for this place with turkey service and value! read more

My family and I weren't impressed with the quality of food at the cafe. We did a 4 mile hike in Zion National Park and was very hungry, so we stopped by this cafe. I must appreciate the fact that the cafe is even there to start with to provide food and with a great open grass area to eat. The food was pretty bad. The fries had so much oil and wasn't even cooked inside. I tasted hard potato when I ate it. Same goes for the pretzel which was hard and flavorless. I would only recommend this cafe to hikers/people coming back and looking for beverages or coffee. The fountain drink was refillable and the coffee was hot and good. Wonderful View! read more

Walked in and was immediately greeted by the employees! Was so happy to talk to my very helpful cashier Jeffrey Franco Kennedy, we talked briefly about hikes that are the best, and the most worth it. he told me the absolute hands-down best hike in zion is the lower emerald pools trail, which is true. I was so impressed with the food that I not only got breakfast, but also lunch. During both times I couldn't help and notice how good the music is, props to whoever was on aux, pretty sure it was some Kendrick Lamar who I love! The food both times was probably the most fresh, most delicious food I have ever eaten, comparable to a 5 star restaurant in the Vegas area. I highly recommend this place when visiting Zion National Park! read more

When staying a the Lodge in Zion National Park, we thought that we would save money by coming here for breakfast rather than eating in the lovely restaurant upstairs. The selection was sparse, and the prices were high. We ate outside surrounded by bees. It was not a pleasant experience. Both afternoons we came here for ice cream, and while the line was long it moved fairly quickly. One day the ice cream machine was not working well so it was a little runny. The food here is typical of National Park fast food: pricey and bad. That's unfortunate, but not unexpected. The bigger problem here is the attitude of the staff and the lack of hygiene. The people acted like zombies in a local fast food dump. There was trash overflowing from the cans and the soda fountain was disgusting. That's about it. Zion National Park is a sad example of Americana for the foreign visitors.
