I could go there by myself and feel safe and well taken care of. Then Jody sold it and my world changed and so did my family. The bartenders, cooks, the food all changed. I stopped going for a really long time, then I went to the Milk & Honey Festival and I was in the area and I drove by Brickies and saw an old friend in the parking lot. I went in and caught up with my long time friend Whitney. He caught me up on the years I missed. I decided it was time to go back again and order the food! My all time favorite was the Chicken Taco with dips & salas. I have to admit the taco was almost like I remember but even better. The chips weren't stale now it comes with sour cream. I told the cook how much I loved it and the bartender Katie was super nice & attentive. I even got to see my old friend again. I had a little picnic with my little dog, Charlie at The California State Park of Donner Memorial and I was amazed at how delicious and authentically traditional & prepared the Old English battered fish with Old English Chips (French Fried Potatoes with Vinegar) tasted! I grew up in San Francisco and trust and believe, I have enjoyed many different cultures of authentic cuisines. This Tavern & Grill really impressed me! On one Sunday afternoon, we were out on the patio, enjoying a light snack and witnessed a group of male golfers two tables down, becoming belligerent to the young staff, one man in particular, Norm U., was standing up pointing fingers and yelling at the young server, staff and hostess regarding everything; food, service, prices, you name it. This reaction from a guest was totally inappropriate and out of place. I quickly got the manager, Jay, who came out, was courteous and to the point, but received an unacceptable tongue lashing by the same gentleman who was with his group of cronies. His description of the events are the farthest thing from the truth. The staff at David's works very hard to provide guests a quality experience.
