I had heard about Cassidy Hill for some time now from friends who enjoyed the winery and music there. Hidden in a neighborhood, we drove up to the building and vineyard: We visited on a fall Sunday and had the tasting room (a ginormous log cabin!) to ourselves. We did the tasting but found the wines to be overall disappointing. This being said, the guests that were there outside seemed to be really enjoying the wine, so I guess it's all a matter of taste! What I did like about Cassidy Hill was the feel it had---very family friendly and would be a fun place to spend a day at their picnic tables or large open porch. Will probably come back on a nice day to enjoy the outdoors here! read more

What a wonderful and special place. I am so impressed by what the owners have made of this space, and hope that the vineyard continues to thrive and grow with the community. Having grown up just around the corner, it is such a refreshing and unique treat to visit, enjoy and celebrate. In visits, I've been a bit of a Riesling regular, though of all my samplings, I've been most partial to the Malbec. Summers seem most special, when they offer live music and a lawn on Fridays, turning the fields into a festive picnic. Definitely worth a visit.. I'm sure the leaves will give the vineyard a stunning backdrop in the next few weeks. read more

For just $6, you can sample 6 different wines. Wines are also available by the glass or bottle. Wine can be sipped indoors or on their small patio equipped with tables and chairs. The woman who led our tasting was friendly and didn't try and rush us through although we arrived near closing time. This place is a hidden gem and I'd love to spend more time on the patio in a rocking chair overlooking the vineyard with a nice glass of Summer Breeze. read more

Bob and Carol have mastered the art of running a charming, event filled, welcoming vineyard. Friday night concerts let you wind down while bringing in the weekend smartly. They are expanding on reds while Jets Red is still a winner and the variety of whites ranges from a mild pinot to a delightful Tricentennial White. I look forward to the soon -to-be-ready Chardonnay with a hint of oak. If you're lucky enough to reach for a bottle of Summer Breeze, do so before it's gone, it favors all palates. Great view, rustic atmosphere but very clean and friendly. The testing is reasonably priced at $7 without the glass for 6 of their wines which are cycled periodically. Overall a very good experience, though a bit slow paced because the server for overwhelmed by a number of groups all coming at once. read more

Love this vineyard! Love the wine, love the sitting outside on the patio, love sharing a bottle and staring out into the vineyard overlooking the city in the distance. I'm slightly biased because it's the closest vineyard to my house, but they do have delicious wine. The Pinot Gris is my fav and the Jet's Red makes a KILLER sangria. I highly recommend giving it a try. read more

Well worth the stop. Friendly people and not a bad wine in the place. Not ones i'd always chose but was pleasantly surprised I didn't dislike any of them to the point I couldn't take another sip. Would recommend the $6 tasting (6 1oz pours of most of their wines. I think all but 2?) and then hopefully you have a partner on the same page to grab a bottle. We grabbed a bottle of Jet's White and took it over to the bench under the tall tree in the middle of the vineyard...turn off your cell phones and enjoy some good conversation, wine and views.... read more

I've never been to a wine tasting (Napa Valley included) where I didn't dump at least one of the wines. Not so here. The wines are original and wonderful! Well worth the 6$ tasting price. We had 5 whites and 1 red to sample. We ended up buying three of the six different kinds and one as a gift for someone. Lovely labels, nice clean wine tasting room. You can even bring your own food to enjoy in or outside of their log cabin tasting room so that you can enjoy a bottle or glass of their wine with your own goodies. I'll definitely be back. Went on a cool fall day so sat inside w/big fireplace, but large front porch w/rocking chairs and tables would be great in warmer weather! As far as the the logo glass is concerned, if you want one spend the extra $3. Most other wineries in CT charge $10+ and you get the glass, although really, how many wine glasses do you need? When we went we were given a sheet of paper with the wines, descriptions and bottle prices on them so maybe they were out when others came or recently added. We always bring our own snacks to have after our tastings to accompany whatever bottle we buy to drink there so the "lack" of nibbles was no big deal. We will be back for the fall cab and winter spiced wine. read more

Some of the best tasting wines you will ever find. Been to many wineries including Napa Valley, Sonoma, and the Finger Lakes, yet I was very impressed here. Typically they offer 6 tastings, which includes 3 or 4 whites, but since I only drink red, they were fine tailoring it to all reds instead.. My favorites were the lyra, incredibly smooth and delicious with a hint of vanilla, and the malbec with a slight peppery finish. We bought two bottles of each. The cabernet also was lite with a smooth finish and the holiday wine would truly be perfect for a Christmas gathering. Without a doubt, we will be back for sure, pack a picnic, and sit on the porch with one of these delicious reds and just enjoy the day! Loved it! read more

I love this vineyard. My husband & I like to stop by late on a Sunday afternoon and buy a bottle of wine and talk to the people behind the bar along with various people we meet there. The atmosphere is very friendly. On Friday nights they have music and you can bring your own food and enjoy the music sitting on a blanket on the lawn or on the spacious porch while drinking their wine. I only wish they were open later on Saturday nights. They're open on Fridays until 8pm but close on Saturday & Sunday at 5pm. read more
