Sam, Nina, and Shana worked tirelessly to try and waste all my time and grip every penny they could out of me. After putting a guitar on layaway and deciding I no longer desired to purchase it they said I could return the guitar for the full price because of a POM down payment I had made prior. After driving an hour and a half to get down here (several times) they said it only worked if the guitar was broken. This is after they already agreed to have me return the guitar for the full price not stating it needed to be broken. If you want to do any sort of business with these people be weary if what they say or what you sign. Glorified scamming and blatant liars. Can I give negative stars???? Standing at the jewelry case for 10 mins. A lady walks in the RUDE lady behind the counter said whatever she said about me NOT being there first. I was and the lady agreed and that she was just looking. The rude lady behind the counter looked at me and said there's no reason to get testy. REALLY? I'd already been to a couple of pawn shops but Cash America Pawn was by far the most helpful in providing general pawn shop laws/information to help me in my search. I've been taking some high value items to get loans at Cash America and it's predecessor Pawn Exchange for nearly 20 years. When I brought my Rolex in which has been in to this location multiple times I was a little surprised to have my ID taken and photocopied before they even looked at the watch or my history. The manager then examined my watch for nearly 30 minutes, another bit of a surprise seeing as I've never had it scrutinized to that level - even asking me to send them a jewelry appraisal I had completed. All for a watch that has been in to this location multiple times and across the CA network for a decade. The reason I'm leaving 1 star is that after calling the regional manager the manager told me they'd reduce my max loan by nearly 20% and then explicitly told me that I shouldn't bother taking it anywhere else because all of the CA locations would be at the same price. I drove 15 minutes away to Shoreline and received the same loan I always got and was in and out in 15 minutes. As I said, I take only high value items in for loans and will surely be skipping the Everett location in the future. read more

I bought a lenovo thinkpad t60 from this location with the intention of turning into an ubuntu machine. I bought it from Cash America because they have a 7 day return policy for defective items. I take the laptop home, and install ubuntu and notice that the "e" key does not function. This obviously renders a lower end laptop worthless since it would cost more to replace the keyboard that it would cost to get another cheap laptop. I go back to everett after work, skipping my trip to the gym so that I can get to them before they close at 7. As I wait in line, I see one of the employees who acted like the manager (you'll know him if you see him tall with grey hair and talks fast). Trying to tell a family that is returning a vaccum that the dust spewing out of it is "normal" and they "just need to change the filter". I get to the counter and try to return their broken laptop. As soon as fast talking guy sees me doing a return he beelines for me. I explain that I am returning the laptop due to the broken "e" key. He says they wont take it back because I installed Ubuntu. I ask which part of the return policy states that I can't do so. The best that he could come up with was that they don't accept "altered" products. I argue that simply installing a program or a browser plugin "altered the product" and that they could just wipe the drive and reinstall windows. Fast talking grey haired guy claims they don't have a way to wipe the partition and reinstall windows (which begs the question - if I hock a laptop do they not have a way to format the drive, reinstall windows and delete my data - I would sure hope so!). I tell them that it's a stupid argument because they cant sell the laptop anyway with the broken "e" key. Fast talking guy tells me they can sell it "as is" and that people buy these things all the time for the screens. I ask why it matters what OS the machine has if someone just wants it for the screen. Fast talking guy stops his script and just tells me he isn't taking back. So I go home, install windows from an old disk and take it back for a second time. This time I went earlier in the day a few days later since I figure Mr delay deny defend would't be there during the slow part of the day. Sure enough, one of the normal employees takes the laptop back without even turning it on. TLDR: IF you need to return something to this store - go early in the day before their minister of denied claims arrives. Also check everything before you leave if possible - they make it as difficult as possible to process a return. read more

Went in with some gold jewelry from my late wife. Wasn't sure what to expect. Stephen, the assistant manager, took his time to examine each piece and determine a fair price. He even recognized a mistake he had made and corrected it in my favor. I'll continue to use this place for any other transactions I may need. Also have to mention Jaxon. He helped me very well. I recently moved to the area and elected to obtain loans on some of my belongings in order to meet my financial obligations until I locate new employment. I had never been to a pawn shop before and was uncertain what to expect, but was nervous and ambivalent. From my very first time in the door, I was treated with kindness, respect and dignity. Not only did they make me feel welcome and safe, they genuinely wanted to help and ensured that I received the highest possible price for my items. Subsequent visits have been met with friendly customer service, and now that they recognize me, they have even taken the time to get to know a little about me. I worked specifically with John, Marisal, and finally Francis. (I would also like to include a special mention of gratitude to the gentleman who is their head manager. I regrettably did not obtain his name, but he has been welcoming and helpful by researching items for me during my patronage of their store. One of my watches ended up being a reproduction, and he did not make me feel embarrassed in the least.) Each employee/representative has unique, but equally endearing customer service skills. The store is clean and well-maintained and I have received a warm welcome each time I come through the doors. They make the paperwork quick and hassle-free and always end the transaction by making sure that I am comfortable with the terms. I've never felt rushed or discounted. Having been a business owner, I recognize the value of good employees with exceptional customer service skills. I can't thank the staff enough, especially those mentioned above, for making this transition in my life easier and seamless. I never expected to have this incredible of an experience while having to do business that is not generally "fun" or "easy". I had the worst experience at the shop on hwy 99 I have pawn there before and not all were all were good. I took my back pack blower in to pawn it's been in before and the little gal that helped me said it had never been before and asked when it was in I said 2 months ago she they had no record of it so I asked did you purge your records and she said no. At that point I was fuming I don't like being call a liar, but that was it now I am on here righting this review as this did not set well with me, so I left the store. be carefull with store I am pressing charges just you all know. Two stars because it was clean..other than that I won't go back. IM A CASH BUYER..went in the store and there were 4 people in there working..No one greeted me and I waited 10 minutes then finally went to the counter to ask for help. I had some short maybe Persian guy show me 2 things in the 300 dollar range and was going to buy something till I opened the box and had broken pieces and parts missing. So I looked at something else and he had such a bad attitude and acted like I was stupid and he knew it all.. even if it was a super deal I would NOT buy anything from him ..he made me feel like my money was no good at his store.i will go somewhere else and spend my money at another store from now on. read more

I visited the shop on 11-19-16. I had some blue ray and dvd's to sell. I had the misfortune of having to deal with a tiny guy named omar! This very small man informed me that "I don't by dvd's" I had over 20 blue rays to sell and omar only offered $7.00! I had to decline the offer. I ended up going to another pawn shop down hwy 99. The place was Creigthtens and the man I dealt with actually had a heart and payed me over $25.00. It is very embarrassing to me to even have to visit a pawn shop. My experiences with cash America pawn here made me feel like I had no value as a human being! Omar has much to learn about customer service and interpersonal relationship skills. I hope the manager will help omar. If you must visit this shop I would highly recommend that you not deal with omar. There are other shops with decent people out there to conduct business. read more

Just recently I came in there two days ago to pick up my laptop out of pawn and when I got home and took the saran wrap off of the carrying case and pulled the laptop out, it was obviously been dropped because the battery was jammed halfway out and screws were bent and this train is coming apart from the bottom section. I was obviously very upset that someone had to have dropped it and didn't say anything considering I never dropped it. My concern was they're going to say I could have dropped it at home and when I called the next day I spoke to a manager on duty named IVAN. At first he did say what I figured they would about me could have drop in at home and that most people open it up to check it before they leave which obviously I didn't think of because I've done business a lot with Cash America especially the one in Bellevue since its closer to me and Ivan said he can do anything over the phone which made complete sense and asked me to come in before 4. I came in with my father honestly thinking that they weren't going to do much and that I was going to end up being very unhappy and probably losing it in the store. It was the complete opposite, ivan was very nice and when we got there he already had and idea and solution prepared. He had taken a laptop they had for sale on the floor and had his computer specialist look over mine and theirs and make sure the one they had was in great condition and has no problems. I am still amazed today by what he did, he gave us the same brand laptop but a better and nicer one that they were selling for more. He basically bought mine that was broken and traded it for the new one straight across even though the one that I was getting was more expensive. It meant a lot to my father and I which I told him and this is why I continue to do business only with cash America when it comes to pawns or loans or anything that matter. Even went above and beyond and definitely made up for the time and trouble and it definitely shows why he is the m anager because he does a great job and knows how to handle any situation it seems like and most importantly customer service, which I find a lot of companies these days are lacking in. We ended up buying a security camera and monitor / baby monitor and Ivan even sold it to us for $5 under what they paid which again made my day. I'm not going to lie on the way there I thought it would be my last time doing business with them and thanks to Ivan it was a complete opposite and all it did is make me want to do more business with them and whoever reads this I highly recommend checking them out up on 99 and airport way. If you get a chance ask for Ivan he obviously will take care of you. read more
