Did a great job resizing my rings and redoing the setting on my wedding ring. Trustworthy business.

This was a very cool, eclectic shop. I've never wanted to buy a rug so badly, lol. And I may feel…read moreeven older because I got excited over a carpet, lol. There simply were too many interesting things. I am certain I could have spent hours inside and still not taken in everything. The back rooms had what I look at as apothecary chest- tons of little drawers, if you can picture it. Except they had several of them and every drawer was filled with different jewelry findings! Beads, clasps, bails- you name it. At the front of the store were a bunch of felt hats that were also incredible. We were greeted when we entered and checked on a couple of times- I really enjoyed this shop. I was very, very tempted to buy myself one of their gorgeous semi-precious gemstone necklaces. Next time.... oh next time!

Don't be fooled by the name: this is not a shop selling musical instruments and sheet music…read more I mean, sure, there are a few instruments to be found within (bells and whistles and whatnot), but this surprisingly spacious store is so much more than that. Populated with gifts, goods, clothing, accessories, jewelry, home décor (rugs! so. many. rugs!), hand-carved wooden furniture, and curious curios collected from the far flung corners of the world, exploring this place is a treat in itself. It's a self-contained bazaar in a building. The employee who greeted us was enamored with our newborn son, and gave him a free finger puppet, which apparently they do for every little tyke on their first visit, which was a sweet touch. My wife ended up purchasing a few trinkets and a necklace chain, but we spent more time ooh-ing and aah-ing, while conversing with the attendant, more than anything. A great place to shop, but also just to browse, explore, and absorb. Music for the eyes, indeed, but also serenity for the soul!

I went into Aboud jewelry to sell my mom's gold. The stamps on the jewelry were too small for me to…read moresee. The owner looked at everything and tested it. After, he offered me 8k. I said that seemed low. He told me most of everything was 10k. I said that I wanted to go to other places to compare prices. He suddenly went up to 11k and started pressuring me to take the offer and said if I leaved, his price would go down. He started saying "do you want a check?". I felt very uncomfortable and left. I went directly to Seattle Gold. They tested everything and said almost all of it was 14k and even 18k. They gave me 12k. This owner is a conman. He thought he could get away with 8k on jewelry that was worth 12k. BEWARE!!!!

Never coming back. This shop has lots of beautiful jewelry, although the prices are overinflated. I…read morelooked at a pair of .25 carat garnet studs and the gentleman wanted $550. I said I couldn't go over $175 so we probably wouldnt find a compromise...but then he said "sold." I was surprised: those tiny garnets were priced ridiculously high, but he suddenly accepted about 30% of that price. I told him I needed to go get the cash, and that really seemed to piss him off. (Who doesnt like being paid in cash?) He scolded me like a kid and told me not to make an offer if I couldn't buy it right then and there. I explained to him that it would take 20 minutes to get the cash and I would be right back, and he said OK, but he was completely rude from then on and didn't try to hide it. If I'm buying jewelry, I don't like buying from people like this guy. Its an investment and there should be trust, which is why its nice to build a good relationship with your seller. I got the cash and returned to the store -- looking for my earrings. But they were GONE! He had packed them up in a box to move somewhere, even though they don't close for another three hours, and even though he KNEW I was coming back for THOSE earrings. I had even specifically confirmed that he would give them to me for that price when I returned. Nope! Wouldn't even let me buy them. That was the only display box that he packed up. There's more. His wife is very nice, but as she showed me a necklace, he scolded me as if I were stealing. I said thanks and got the heck out. Bad vibes, bad customer service. Bottom line, I'm never coming back here. I buy jewelry from people I trust to be transparent, respectful, and who don't force a decision in 30 seconds or less. It's one thing if you're not really buying anything, but I was there to buy. If you're buying pawned jewelry, you need time to examine it, otherwise you'll probably end up spending too much on a synthetic gem. If you're looking for a wonderful, FRIENDLY jewelry pawn shop with equally high-end merchandise at better prices, run by a VERY nice family, go to Onix Jewelry instead. In fact, I went there after I left Aboud Jewelry and bought 18k gold studs with natural blue sapphire....for $100!!! Tony at Onix is always happy to negotiate. Also, it's 2 minutes away from Aboud Jewelry. Spend your money there and get more value and nicer service.

Edited to respond to the owners condescension: Based off…read morethis reply I think the style of customer service speaks for itself. Saying I was happy with the option to use a clasp as opposed to a weld shows the lack of awareness. I was not thrilled but had promised my 8 year old and drove 30 min for the appointment so felt stuck. Very quickly after I initially contacted you with concerns, my daughter's bracelet fell off and was unfortunately lost. You offered to re-weld mine but about a week later prior to being able to even consider making arrangements to come back for a re-weld mine also fell off and I've been unable to locate it. The reason for this review now is because Yelp suggested your establishment, and yes I would still be bothered when I spent $100 on now missing jewelry shortly after purchase. I've since had a new one placed on myself without ANY issues. It's welded very strongly. And I got my daughter a bracelet with a clasp that is age appropriate and it's remained on through school, sports and normal 8 year old activities without issue. Sorry to upset you with factual details of your products and services. Your clasp was obviously subpar as was your welding skills. Why would I come back to have you weld it again when your welding abilities didn't last even a month? I suggest kindly touching grass. Original review: Got a "permanent" bracelet that fell off within the month. Should have just ordered a bracelet elsewhere. They clearly don't know how to weld correctly. Their customer service needs work as well.

I have a nice experience here working with the shop owner on creating a custom ring. I had wedding…read morerings and leftover rings from my grandparents and parents that really were not useful to me. I wanted the gold for something that would carry their memory and also be something that I would enjoy. I took all those rings and she used my gold to cast a new ring for me. The result is a very nice looking gold ring that is made up of my families gold and has my grandmothers wedding diamond in it. And I wear it regularly and really enjoy it and enjoy the memory of where it came from.
