I was very young and say mid 70s Indians moved to its current location. Not sure if many remember but it used to be a small carwash. My Grandparents decided to do the carryout pizza thing due to low overhead. Indians became my high school job from 86-88 until I left for the Army. My Grandma retired and closed the business but in 1992 my Uncle purchased it and ran it for many years until he sold it. Since Indians changed hands I had only been there once or twice but last night my wife came up with the idea to try Indians for something different and I am glad that we did. It was very good and I enjoyed the thin crust for my traditional Pepperoni , bacon and pineapple pizza. I like the changes made to the place and that have turned an old storage area into a small dining room. We will most certainly be back and it's nice to go back inside and remember all the good times there.

I'm a carb counter ( Don't hate on me, lol I go rogue from time to time and gorge on Pan Pizza as well ) so I appreciate a great Thin Crust when it's done to my taste and likings. Indians is Stellar. My older brother used to sing the praises of their Stromboli, so I am going to try one of those on my next cheat weekend.

Outside of the kids keeping busy watching the trains, they colored/drew on the paper table cloth until the food arrived. The staff was wonderful! Super friendly and attentive. You place your order at the counter, and when the food is ready, the staff will bring your food to your table. The pizza was really good! We ordered a thin supreme and a thin plain cheese. The ingredients were fresh. For the kids that didn't want pizza, we ordered a hamburger and spaghetti with meatball. No complaints from the kids. They loved their food. The fries were delicious too! Definitely a place to stop when in Pontiac.

First time for us and quite an impressive package they've put together. Wonderful "chicken chunks"…read morewhich they call boneless chicken wings. I don't think the bbq sauce was homemade but the chunks were well done. We ordered as an appetizer and glad we did. The pizza took longer than we expected but was worth the wait. Quite flavorful and large bits of each of the toppings. A very firm crust that we enjoyed and found very filling. We are foodies and can with confidence suggest this restaurant as a must-visit. Great job overall by the team. We were made to made to feel very welcome.

We saw a handful of fast food joints and were going to settle on one before I said, "hey, let's check this place out and just take a little break from driving." We stopped in Dwight Pizza and were pleasantly surprised. The food: The Italian beef/sausage combo was out of this world. The sausage was packed with flavor and the Italian beef was delicious. Everything was even better being dipped in au jus. We also split a pizza that came piping hot and loaded with cheese and toppings. The atmosphere: The atmosphere is a no frills diner small town diner feel, but a great place to stop for lunch or dinner with kids. AND I got to watch The Godfather during lunch! :) I loved seeing the owner's memorabilia from his son's successes over the years. Undoubtedly a VERY proud father and it's touches like that, which make family owned/small town places special. The owner: He didn't say he was the owner, but as a business owner, myself, you can tell. He was awesome. Very friendly and it didn't feel like you were stopping by his restaurant, but stopping by his home for a home cooked dinner. He started by asking us if we wanted to have the best Italian beef sandwich or best pizza we'd ever had, so we naturally said, "Both!" We will definitely make a point to stop in on our trips back to Michigan. Three Floyds and Schoops are our "heading down" stops and Dwight Pizza will be our "heading up" stop.

When we arrived we were seated right away but it was buzzing with locals and pick ups (good sign, right?!) We really enjoyed looking at all of the local memorabilia on the walls and our service was EXCELLENT! The woman that served our table was very friendly, upbeat, and knew exactly how to take care of her guests. Our food came out very quickly and we enjoyed all of it. We had the 12" thin crust pepperoni pizza and some garlic bread. Next time we'd like to try either the deep dish or some of the house special pizzas. I was pretty shocked to see that our total was over $45 for the 12" pizza, bread, and two drinks with tip. But really everything else made it worth it. And we got a slice of the most delicious almond cake on the way out for free - score!

Disclaimer: this visit was on Mother's Day so we understood that it would be crowded with longer wait time. First time in restaurant. The tables are packed claustrophobic tight. Or table was smack up against the side of the salad bar. I was afraid my hair would get in the lettuce. Every time someone walked past our table they bumped into the chairs. Payment is No cards, cash/check only and this info is NOT published anywhere but on a notecard taped to the cash register which was blocked from view as we were seated. Not on the door, not on the website. I see it's here in the comments on Yelp, but I had poor signal and didn't do a review search, just looked at the website. Poor treatment by owners - attitude was not "I'm sorry for your poor experience" but "I'm sorry you're complaining, get lost." Carry out orders and friends and locals seemed to receive priority service. Mediocre, overpriced food. "Baked" pasta dish was runny, mozzarella barely melted, meat sauce with barely any meat, way too sweet. Garlic bread with very little garlic. Pizza crust was hard, flavorless, over cooked on edges. Sauce (to me) has a weird chemical-like taste. Toppings were not fresh, mushrooms were canned, pizza was under cooked in the middle. Wait time - it was one hour until someone told us it was ready to come out in a couple of minutes..... then it actually was another 30 minutes or more later, during which the waiter avoided us like the plague until we flagged him down and asked when our food would be out, then another ten minutes after that. After reading reviews, it would seem that the time deception is a sanctioned tactic. Finally, after going to the car, retrieving an old checkbook, and writing a check with a generous tip in spite of the deficiencies, we politely expressed that they should publish their payment policy and how wait time was misrepresented. Received a very curt response. Left an honest comment on the community fb page and was threatened, cursed, and called every name in the book by most of the friendly "locals." But hey, social media, right? The rudeness on a busy day could have been easier to forgive if everything else had been five star, but the food really isn't worth the price and the wait. And jeez, Monticello....I'm afraid to drive through town, much less eat at this restaurant again.
