We enjoy their appetizers, pizza, salads, especially their salads, and many of our guests have enjoyed their sandwiches. Their salads are...the best ones in town. Our 17-year-old always enjoys meeting friends who work there as much of their staff is chosen from the 17 to 25-year-old kids in town. The service is very good here. The food is crap and way overpriced. Jacks frozen pizza is better than this. So expensive and you don't get much at all. The only reason I go here is because my wife grew up on this crap pizza and doesn't know what good pizza is. That bein said I get drug here to eat salad and drink pop while her and the kids eat this junk. Stop at Walmart and treat yourself to a better frozen pizza than this. read more

Was basically told one hour before closing is not enough time to get a pizza out the door for delivery. I lived in Chicago at one point. When I lived up there we could get domino's in an hour or less regardless if it was close to closing. I feel like one hour should be enough lead time to make a pizza and send it out for delivery. We use to monical's all the time. However, before this incident happened, we had a rash of instances were the order was ether, late, wrong, cold or just never arrived. So, we took a brake. This one time I give them a second chance, they decide that one hour is not enough time to make a peperoni pizza and a large fountain drink. Seriously? read more

This is where it all started. The on-so-wonderful Monicals pizza began their story in the big town of Watseka, Il. The thin-crust pizza has a lightly sweet sauce and is cut into squares. The pizza is awesome and the best I've had. They haven't caught up with the times on their salad, though, since it's made of iceburg lettuce (which has absolutely no nutritional value and is basically crunchy water). The breadsticks are plain and doughy, but still very good. Completely opposite Pizza Hut breadsticks. And they can give you pitchers of pop - which is hard to find anymore. The prices for pizza, breadsticks, etc. is very reasonable. I don't think any of them deliver, though. This restaurant requires you to get everything yourself at the front register, and it would be nice for them to have waitstaff so you don't have to keep getting up. read more

Let's say you find yourself in the middle-of-nowhere Illinois and you want some pizza. This is your place. Home of the Cornjerkers. Pizza of champions. I live in California, but was in town (Chicago area) for a wedding this past January. After the wedding, my friends and I had the pleasure of visiting and sledding in Milford, IL (next town over from Watseka). A large group of us went to Monical's pizza after a long day of sledding (which in IL means being pulled behind a pick-up), and this pizza (thin crust) was the most perfect way to end a day. I also highly recommed the salad dressing in their house salad. I was encouraged to dip my pizza in it, and I didn't regret it. Now if only Monicals would think about expanding to...San Diego! read more

Staff was friendly, but anyone giving this place a 4-star review must have absolutely no basis for comparison. I got mozzarella sticks and they were cooked a bit long as the cheese was exploded on the plate. My cup had a sticker that came from something else, stuck on it. One of the people I was sitting with was killing the flies that were flying around. I also got a bonus hair in the pizza crust. I love pizza, but this place makes pizza on par with DiGiorno, but I've never had a hair in a frozen pizza and it wasn't $27. Pro-tip: visit your grocer's frozen pizza aisle for better selection and quality at a reasonable price. read more

My husband and I just bought our first *new* car and out of excitement, managed to accidentally drive down to Watseka while taking our precious cargo for a spin. Whoops. Free XM Radio, On Star, and a fancy touch screen synced to your iPhone does that to you. Anyway, we stopped at Monical's for lunch because I haven't had Monical's in a long time and it's a childhood staple of mine. We shared the Pleaser for Two (comes with a pizza, two individual salads and two drinks) and we placed an order for two breadsticks with cheddar cheese. Monical's salads are seriously the best ever. They're always fresh and the cheddar cheese they put on top is awesome. Do they grate that stuff in house, or what? It's so soft and good. The creamy italian dressing and sweet and sour (their version of french) are a must. And you have to mix them. It's just how it's done. The breadsticks probably come out of the freezer but they're so good. Ahhhh. I went to the Bradley location growing up (it has since closed and now I have to go to the Kankakee or Bourbonnais one), but this Watseka location was pretty impressive. Monical's certainly beats out Pizza Hut for the best pizza in Watseka. I would, though, not call it the best pizza or even great pizza. The thin crust is a little too thin, and the grease on top is a little too thick. I think it's all about the ratio, there should be at least equal parts crust to grease. Even with my minor complaints, I would certainly return and enjoy eating a pizza from here. Certainly a place to stop if you are driving through. There is a Lego Yoda up on one of the shelves which certainly can't hurt. read more

Visiting an account and was hungry. It was either his or Taco Bell and I'm glad I went here. For under $10 I got a person all pizza (sausage and bacon), a nice salad and soft drink and they were very good. A nice surprise! read more

This is the worst pizza I have ever had. I truly question whether it was actually made there because it tasted like a frozen pizza. And not like a premium frozen pizza such as Connie's or DiGiorno, but like the cheapest generic brand you can find. The crust is too thin and of a cardboard-like consistency which lacks any flavor at all, the sauce is nearly bland and the flavor you do get a hint of is too sweet. Then to top it off, the cheese is of such low quality that when it melts it becomes just greasy and thin. We also had the mozzarella sticks, and those were not very good neither. They tasted like they were freezer burned and then thrown in a toaster, and were even served in the container with the black, burnt crumbs. Horrible. I just moved out this way a few weeks ago from closer to Chicago, and I knew it may be difficult to locate a decent pizza around here, but this fell way lower on the gross spectrum than I would have anticipated. You know where I found a pizza around here that is actually delicious? At Caseys General Store in Kentland. Yeah, that is strange to me, but it is true. Despite my disappointment in Monical's food, I will say the staff was very nice. That is the only reason they even deserve one star. read more

I have to give this place 5 stars simply because i never expected to find such great pizza in the middle of nowhere in Illinois. It's thin crust is excellent and the dipping sauce was a nice surprise. I enjoyed dipping the pizza as instructed by my local friends. I grew up in NYC and I rarely like any pizza outside of NYC, but this place has earned my seal of approval! read more

If you prefer a thin crust style pizza Monicals won't let you down. They are a little more expensive , but the pizza is worth it.

Monical's started in Tolono, Illinois, not Watseka. It is the best pizza on the planet if you ask me.
