Their mechanic said it would cost almost $9000 to repair because the transfer case and transmission needed to be replaced. Then they offered me A LOT of trade-in value for it. That seemed fishy so I didn't trust them after the offer and decided to get a second opinion on the repairs. I am glad I did! As I said, I'm not a mechanic in any way so Mike helped me and explained that the pickup did need a new transfer case, but that the transmission looked good. He saved me over $6000 from what I would have paid to the dealer. I guess now I know who the true expert is and where I'm always taking my pickup for services now. Thanks Mike!

Never go here. I was quoted a price of $1700 to replace a bad transmission in my old Mazda 323…read more After dropping my car off and putting $1000 down on the repair in advance they removed my old transmission and then informed me that it was going to cost $4000 and I needed to give them an additional $1000 for them to order a new transmission for the vehicle. I paid a total of $500 plus registration for this car and it wasn't worth $1000 in running condition. I decided not to go forward with the repair. The suddenly nasty woman running the place refused to refund any of the money I had put down, threatened me about removing the car from her property within 72 hours or else I would face charges for something vaguely legal sounding and tried to tell me she was doing me a favor returning this vehicle to me with the old transmission in a box in the back of the car. I wish I had the time and the money to take her to court at the time. I was polite, professional and kindly throughout our entire interaction and ended up getting ripped off for $1000, had to arrange a tow for a nonoperational vehicle and got to listen to a ration of crap from an incredibly nasty wretch of a manager for my trouble. This was several years ago and I am still furious with AAMCO over this incident. Other people I have talked to have been ripped off with bait and switch incidents similar to mine and had experienced similar attitude from employees once you stop handling your credit card over without questions. I will NEVER go to AAMCO for anything and if anyone needs ammo for a lawsuit I'd be happy to testify about my experience and I can provide invoices that back up my story. AAMCO is terrible. Take your money elsewhere.

Run! Run! This guy is a big rip off. I took my car to him after it was diagnosed at another shop…read morebecause he specializes in Honda. I told him I wanted the air conditioner unit replaced and a new serpentine belt. He called with a price and I authorized it and when I went to pay I discovered he added 600.00 for diagonistic. He never told me about this charge when I dropped my car off. I should have got it in writing before I let him work on it I am an elderly women and he saw me coming and took advantage. I offered to split the difference with him but he refused. Lesson learned Watch out for this guy. I asked him to check out the dash that was not working he didn't even look up the codes and told me to take it to a dealership. I wished I had done it from the start. 600.00 is a lot of money for a senior on social security.Shame on this business

Munson's independent Auto It actually pains me to write this…read morereview because I've been a customer for over two decades and have had really great service. However, that has all changed. I will never bring another car back to this place and they will not get one more dollar. We brought our pilot in for a parasitic draw. We literally left that on a note for them to check out. They said they tested everything (battery/alternator). I said did you drive it around? turn it on turn it off, etc. they said yes they even kept it overnight tested in the morning and they said everything came back good. I showed up just before they closed at 4 o'clock and had my son drive the car 3.5 miles to the rental car place (straight down 4th plain) because we were dropping off a rental car only to have the car (pilot) die right there in the parking lot and not even being able to be jumped. This was extremely frustrating, especially after I told them that there was an issue so basically from what I gather all they did was charge the battery which I did at home and it was able to start one time. I don't think they did any relevant/ or proper testing on the car which I basically just burned up $100. That's fine living and learning I guess. What's very frustrating is trying to find a good honest shop that does good quality work and like I said we have brought all of our cars there going all the way back to the early 2000s And even before that so they have lost me as a lifetime customer and I would recommend if you have any electrical issues to not have the shop do it unless you want to be stranded and have your car towed to another place that can figure it out. There was no communication there was no Customer service... Not even a call that would apologize or willing to take care of the issue after they said that they had tried to fix it unfortunately, Munson's is no longer a top shop. Don't go here...
