I have used Casey's multiple times in the past and they have always has been great. I have my car in there now for the Serpentine Belt, and the Rear brakes. There was miscommunication on both sides (mine and theirs), and when I brought it up, they corrected it well beyond what I expected. They really took care of me when they didn't have to. While visiting the area to support a friend in the hospital, my check engine light came on two nights before I was supposed to drive over 400 miles back home and the thermostats in my diesel pickup had to be replaced. I had a great experience at Casey's. The people are courteous and knowledgeable (Hi Felicia), and explained what they suggested I have done, and didn't give me a hard time or try to upsell me when I declined some of their suggested repairs. They printed out information on a procedure they recommended so I could study it in detail. The car's performance has improved noticeably, and they provided an Uber free of charge both ways, saving me having to sit and wait at the shop all day. They are not the cheapest option out there, and price is definitely a consideration for me. Still, I feel I received excellent value for money and am glad to have this task finished so professionally. I will be back for the next repair. If it matters, I'm driving a 2009 BMW 128i (they don't even make it anymore), six-speed stick, which I love and intend to keep on its wheels . . . forever. read more

Don't ever go here. These people are not what I would call Mechanics, they are parts swappers only!. I had an old 2003 Jeep liberty that had a rear window stuck down and took it here. they charged me $115.00 to DIAGNOSE the problem and then charged me $400.00 to put on rear window regulator that the retail part costs $49.00. Then they recommended $8000.00 worth the work on a $1800.00 car!!. Also charged $340.00 to diagnose but NOT FIX the a/c . They said the compressor and charge were fine but it needed an new a/c clutch and they had to replace the whole thing to do it and it would cost $1000.00. I went on Amazon and found just the clutch part for $60.00 and am having a friend put it in. Also- These people now own Point S which used to be Dicks in Battle ground so i will no longer go there either since Dick's sold to these people!. Run the other way, do not go!!!!! read more

Took my car to Casey's with a check engine light on. They had it for 1 1/2 days and could not find the problem and charged me $291.59. They wanted and additional $485.00 to install an $80.00 OEM sensor and continue their evaluation. I declined their outrageous offer and took the car to the dealer who's technician identified the problem in one hour. They love to perform a so called free inspection to identify additional problems with your vehicle to get more money out of your pocket. Nothing is free - technicians do not work for free. I do not recommend this shop to perform any maintenance on your vehicle unless you have a lot of money to waste. read more

02/27/2025 we took our car in, and they told us we needed the Left axle and right axle and engine air filter fixed, we went along with this, and they charged us over 2400.00$ to fix all of this. After we got the car back within a week, we noticed small oil spots in our driveway, we were not sure if it was from this car, our one of our other cars, or a friend's car. We drove the car and after another week or so the car started to feel weird, and then the engine light came on. We parked the car in our driveway, and no one drove it, and we waited, we thought maybe it needed an oil change, we took it in for an oil change, and it still ran weird. I took it to Jiffy Lube on 3/18/2025 and they said it may need a Transmission Fluid oil change. They lifted the car and said there is a massive leak, they said you need to get the leak fixed. We took it to our mechanic Car Tech Auto Care on 3/19/2025 not knowing the leak was caused by the faulty axle repair, and the car barely made it there. The tech notes from the repair showed: The left front axle shaft was recently replaced; the left front axle ring was missing, causing the axle to pull out and leak. We called Casey's Independent Auto and told them their faulty work caused damage to our car that we had to get fix, they stated we should have brought the car back, but we did not know their work caused the damage until we got our car repaired. They stated they won't get reimbursed for the faulty axle they put on the car so they cannot reimburse us since we did not have them fix the issue. So, the guy admitted on the phone they were sold a faulty axle by the manufacturer, and they are not liable. We just want the 544.40 we are out for damages they caused by doing faulty work. read more

Every service I was quoted for was over priced compared to competitors, sometimes more than 200% more. And whatever the reason for taking your vehicle in, you will be up sold on additional work necessary or not. They do provide digital copies of diagnostics which can be helpful, but it was mostly helpful in getting a bid from other shops. In my particular case they also broke a part while repairing a fuel pump, but wanted to charge me to replace that part and feigned ignorance about how it broke. However, the part broke in a way that could only have been done by accident - it was not wear and tear. read more

I had my transmission serviced by Casey's about 6 months ago. The value is subpar in my opinion. Almost $600 to service a transmission when they only changed the oil and filter is unusually expensive. On top of that they charged an extra $200 to change the engine oil and filter at the same time. Regardless of the quality of the work, which as far as I know was okay, I won't be returning due to the exorbitant price they charged. read more

Over $7,000.00 for a re-manufactured rear-end to be bolted onto my 1990 Dodge Cummins Diesel 12-valve (along with some alignment work), after my truck sat there for over a month. They were originally just going to replace the differential in my rear end. Then when the parts finally arrive, they discover that they didn't fit the "pumpkin." Tons of BS spin from their manager Justin, who seemed more skilled in Psychological Operations than anything else. Statements from their manager, like "We're only even working on your vehicle because it's been in here before (Which was nothing more than a simple valve adjustment on the engine, at the time)..." And it gets better: Constant BS about how "We have the best parts locator in Clark County." I was told this repeatedly. I later researched Dana 70 rear ends and there are numerous shops on the internet that sell entire re-manufactured rear-ends. I'm only leaving this review after talking to other mechanics who wouldn't have charged as much, would have analyzed the VIN # for the proper information, etc. One diesel shop that I've had work done with in Tillamook, OR informed me that they would have picked-up my truck, towed it out there (from here in Vancouver) and replaced that rear end with one just as good (if not better) for little more than $4000.00. When I went to pick up the truck, I asked if they had a military discount, and Justin gives me a discount of... $30.00. Not a flat 10%, or even a 5% discount. In addition to this, when going back there to double-check the rear end more recently (Due to another shop concerned about a possible possible leak, which turned out to just simply be some excess motor oil from an oil pan/rear seal leak.), The person on their computer who I gave my information to couldn't find the work that they had done in their system (for over $7000.00, you'd think they would). Then their manager, Justin jumps-up and says "I'll take care of that." It has me wondering if my work order was even on their shop's books. This shop just felt really dirty at that point read more

I am a part-time driver for two local rideshare companies. Each year drivers are required to get an approved vehicle inspection. One of these companies used to provide inspections at no charge at their Portland hub, but it's now closed. In my area it's been difficult to find a shop that is either willing or able to do the inspection. Casey's came to my rescue, setting an appointment at a quick and convenient time. This was my first time to visit Casey's and the interior of the check-in and waiting areas was super clean and all of the staff, especially Felicia, were welcoming. The technicians inspected my vehicle thoroughly, much more so than any other annual inspection I've had done. They also identified areas of the vehicle that need attention -- nothing related to the inspection criteria -- and without any upsell. The experience was nothing short of impressive, and I would recommend Casey's not only to other rideshare drivers but to everyone I know. They told me it was an easy fix and told me of several other issues with my truck. They are honest and give customers options to prioritize the things that are in urgent need and others you can wait on. They keep you updated and have Great communication with customers. ZERO stars if that were an option!! STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!! This is the not the first time we have taken our diesel trucks to Casey's and not the first time we have been ripped off! My husband is a mechanic by trade and knows what he's talking about. This is the 2nd time he told the manager EXACTLY what was wrong with our truck and we tend to get a call 2 or 3 or 4 weeks later stating that the problem was exactly what my husband said it was!!! Oh and then we get a bill for thousands because their inexperienced employees can't, won't, or don't know how to do their jobs! They currently have one of our trucks and keep "finding" things wrong with it! Now it's going on 5 weeks they have had the truck! read more

Plus they gave me attitude when I said another shop quoted me cheaper, but then it turns out Casey's was quoting me work for a Ford Explorer, not a Fiesta. I brought my car in Jan. 24th. Isaac was my advisor, he talked to my mother in law but she did not approve anything, she told him to call me as it was my car. When I talked to someone about the issue and read the inspection notes, I was lead to believe 1200$ worth of work would solve my issue. Great! When I picked my car up Isaac said verbatim "It's not a bad car, it now just needs a few maintaining requirements per mileage done." I left thinking WOW my car is great. 2 days later my car was still doing it's issue, however a whole new problem arose. I called Monday and was told come bring it in. Now we are at 1530$. I am not kidding when I say the very next day, my original problem is not fixed, in fact my car feels like it's running worse. After bringing it in for a 3rd time in a week, Isaac tells me he told my mother in law the work they did in the beginning was just starting point, that it was explained to her that there was a plethora of other problems. I'm not sure if Isaac realizes my mother in law and I talk quite frequently, I'm not sure if Isaac realizes "starting point" was never mentioned by anyone. If that was mentioned to either of us I would not have wasted my time, nor their time because frankly my car is not worth 1500 STARTING. it's a 2007. We go in today to talk to a manager to get some kind of resolve, because its wildly unacceptable 1500 in 3 visits and my car is worse. I would understand if it was truly explained to me "this might not be the fix" from the get go, however that is NOT what was explained, "wheel speed sensor is the most likely the cause for drivability issues" is what is written and what was explained. To put this on my mother in law and I for "Not understanding" is gaslighting at its finest. How do you misunderstand written words like most likely? statistically speaking, if it's most likely going to rain... it's going to rain. Justin tried to go over the whole thing like we are idiots, and then said something about my brakes when applied... I wasn't even in for my brakes, that wasn't my issue. I just had my brakes done. The blame went to everything else they could possibly find other than the fact they misdiagnosed me in the beginning. I may not know a ton about cars, but what I do know is they are being shady as fuck and blaming me. read more

I took my car to Casey's for several issues, including the purchase and installation of a new battery. Two months later I returned to Casey's on an unrelated matter. While they had my car there, they ran tests on the car. One recommendation was that I should get a new battery. I explained that I had just gotten one from them recently. She checked, and said that yes, I had. When they went to re-check the battery they "discovered" that my old battery was still in the car. They never replaced it, but certainly had charged for it. If you for some reason decide to take you car here for repairs, make sure they show you everything they have done. I no longer trust them. I'm out $1,400 and the problem I came in for isn't even fixed.. the way they fix their mistake is to treat me like I'm an idiot and say they'll take off $100 off labor for me to get the part I actually wanted them to replace.. so $700 more. was absolutely shocked at the way I was treated at Caseys. I discovered a leak in the rear seats of my Honda Fit last week. Both my passenger and driver side rear carpets were soaked. I had a pretty good idea of why the car was leaking. Lots of Fit owners have reported this exact issue due to a bad rain guard and bad design on the door. I mentioned this a couple of times to the service advisor, and he said they would check it all out and determine the issue. I also verified that part of the cost was to dry the car out so it was no longer wet. A few hours later I got a call to tell me that the rear ¼ window had a leak, but that was all they found to leak. I also had a cracked door seal, but it wasn't leaking. I asked him how the rear quarter window on one side would cause my floors to get that wet, but not get the seats or anything else wet, and why both sides were wet if the problem was only on one side. I was given an explanation that didn't sound very good to me, but I figured hey, these are the experts, so okay--I'll take their word for it. Had the window fixed, and ordered a new door seal to be put on later. I picked up the car, took it home and discovered the carpets were still wet. This was frustrating, as I had specifically asked about drying the car out. Mold and mildew take root fast. The following night I parked outside as I usually do. It rained that night. I came out to very wet floors the next morning. Clearly something had been missed. I decided to test my original theory about it being the doors. I sprayed a hose on the windows. After about 10-15 seconds you could see water coming into the car from underneath the trim leaking down the door. We pulled the door panels off, and sure enough, both sides of the car had failed adhesive around the vapor barrier Honda uses to keep rain out. There were several places where the adhesive had failed, and I watched water drip through the door, onto the barrier, down my trim and onto the floor. Casey's somehow missed this, and fixed something else (that I don't think was actually getting my interior wet). The problem was so easy to diagnose, I have no idea how they missed it.  I still had to take the car back to get a part installed, so I called and mentioned that it was still leaking. I was told they would look at it.  I also spoke to the GM. I was very polite. I told him that I didn't mind paying for the window job, since they actually did that work, but I was upset that the car wasn't dried, my problem didn't get fixed, and they didn't properly diagnose the issue. I also acknowledged that I agreed to not have my carpets put back down, but that it seemed like not great service to charge so much for that simple task. The GM seemed amenable to working out some kind of solution, and told me we could talk more about it when I brought my car back for them to install the other part. I brought my car in today (Monday) to talk to the GM and have the previously scheduled work completed. Before I could say anything to anyone, the service advisor who had helped me originally, asked for my card. He told me he was refunding the part I prepaid for, and that they wouldn't be working on my car, wouldn't fix it, and for me never to come back. He said I agreed to their work, and that I had called to complain (like it's ridiculous to discuss the fact that they misdiagnosed and didn't fix the actual problem--despite me telling them what it was). I was flabbergasted. He was incredibly dismissive and rude.  I was also told that "We didn't guarantee that there were no other leaks on your car". REALLY? You did a water leak test to diagnose my leak, but you can't guarantee that your diagnosis was correct? SERIOUSLY? The way I was treated this morning was unbelievable and unacceptable. I hope the owner sees this and it saves others from bad service. PS: after leaving this review on Google, one of their employees (Justin) posted a one star review for my business as retaliation with his name on the review. I honestly laughed for a good 5 minutes seeing that level of pettiness. I can't even be mad. You can't make this stuff up. I've always brought my personal cars here's for oil changes since moving back to Vancouver and they are reasonably priced, and give very detailed inspections of the car and what they recommend should be done if anything. Everyone I have dealt with is very friendly and provides great service. Recently one of my work vehicles was having issues and I wasn't able to drive it, I called and they let me drop the car off immediately and were able to get back to me with results from an inspections within a couple hours and said they would be able to have the repairs done in the next day and there was a lot wrong with the car. After all of that they then again let me drop off another for an oil change when I picked up my work vehicle. Great place I would recommend anyone coming here any work or maintenance on a car. read more

I've been meaning to post this, but am getting to it now. About a year ago and a half ago, my water pump failed on my Buick LaCrosse with 30,000 miles, causing my radiator to overheat. Just being down the road, I stopped here, and had the team check it out. They explained that since my engine overheated they had to do a few tests to see if my cylinders were warped or cracked. To my horror, they explained that coolant had gotten into the cylinders, and I would need to get a new engine or have it rebuilt. This quote was around $4,000 to have the work done. I was starting to freak out as I was thinking about getting a different car. Being prudent, I towed it to the Buick dealership to get a second opinion, where the service provider and technicians looked at it and assured me that there was no problems with the cylinders. They mentioned the engine type that was put in that car was bulletproof practically. After putting in a new water pump, and my car approaching 80,000 miles today, it sounds like the engine isn't shot after all. Thank you Buick GMC of Beaverton for saving me $3,000 worth of work or perhaps a new car. I would stay away from this place. read more

Have a 2018 Honda Accord EXL & just had new rims & tires installed, the following day I get low air warning, so, I check my tires & realize front drivers is almost flat. Under the circumstances this is a dire emergency situation & I'm next door to "Casey's Independent Automotive." "Zach" was my service writer & quotes me @ $42 to do repair on my tire. Fairly spendy when I can go to Les Schwab right down the street & do for free, but, emergency issue, so, wont chance doing any driving on new rim/flat tire. "Zach" asked if I'd like std diagnostic, &, I agree. I receive text messages on their progress, completion, &, recommendations. I pickup my vehicle & later in the day while driving back from Portland at 205 Mill Plain exit my car makes a HORRENDOUS metal scraping noise as if something is stuck underneath it. I cannot pull over since I've just passed 112th so I, carefully, make it home & discover that my skid plate IS HANGING LOOSELY ON THE BOTTOM OF MY CAR! NO ONE else had worked on my car, so, I promptly return the next morning to Casey's & inform Zach of the issue & he adamantly denies responsibility for my skid plate falling off, but, if I were interested in them doing the work he could give me an estimate of the cost. I asked him while performing their inspection isn't it true my skid plate would have to be loosened or removed to check for leaks in my oil pan? He denies this & says "only visual inspections are performed & there wouldn't be any reason to remove or loosen the skid plate since it's only a visual inspection." Then he asks me who worked on my car recently since they are more than likely to blame, but, he will confirm with his mechanics when they return from lunch that they never removed my skid plate. This resulted in a phone call shortly from Zach denying anything was removed or loosened on my car. For you information, Zach, I'd already contacted my regular mechanic who is a VERY close personal friend who has worked on all 4 of my vehicles & has great reviews & have never had ANY issues with the work of his team & forwarded all the info & service receipts from Casey's to confirm that my skid plate would have to be removed to perform the inspection you claimed to have done. Second, after declining Casey's offer to repair skid plate falling off for a charge I took to Hannah Honda dealership who got it reattached within a half hour & informed me that ALL the fasteners/screws for skid plate were loose or had fallen off. I showed Hannah Honda the same documentation regarding inspections Casey's provided & they confirmed that there is NO WAY to have done diagnostics that were listed WITHOUT REMOVING THE SKID PLATE & the nicest way they could put it without calling you, Zach, a liar. And, finally, I have a sync up drive in my car & was able to see the test drive taken on my vehicle after tire valve replaced & am utterly furious that your employees would drive a customers vehicle the way my car was driven. It reported that it was driven 43mph on Rosewood Ave which is 30 mph speed zone with a 20mph school zone with 2 incidents of harsh braking & 2 incidents of rapid acceleration either in the parking lot or right next to the school. Amazing customer service! Lucky and Brian went above and beyond for us when we needed them the most! The did repairs on my 02 Ram after finding a couple issues with my oil change. A couple days later we had a break in our suspension and without skipping a beat Brian and Lucky had our truck back at the shop and on the road in no time. I appreciate it more then they know. My husband and I recently purchased a used car, it ran well, but occasionally we would smell oil burning. After having it and driving it for a while (with the oil smell the only issue) we took it into the shop. Long story short, after paying over $1000 we got it back but our car no longer shifts gears smoothly, the alignment is now off, and it still puts off the same oil smell (which was what we paid to have fixed). We took it back in and they gave us their "reasons" why those things would happen and wanted to charge a bunch of money to now fix the new issues...NO WAY!! We will not take our vehicles there anymore, we trusted them for over 5 years, but no more. I don't know a whole lot about cars but I'm pretty sure it's supposed to run better after taking it into a car shop to be fixed, not drastically worse. read more

I paid $400 for nothing more than a car wash! Upon finding out that Casey's has certified diesel techs, I brought my VW TDI in for a misfiring cylinder and they told me that the only fix was a set of brand new fuel injectors at $600 x 4 plus labor. After doing some research I found that there were two much more likely (and cheaper) culprits, one in the wiring harness for the injectors and the other being camshaft wear. I asked if both of these had been checked specifically and was told "neither of those could be the cause of this issue." At that point I looked more closely at my quote for the repair and realized that they marked the repair for an ALH engine not the BEW type in my car, the main difference between the two being the fuel delivery system I was having problems with! I paid the $400 bill for the "diagnosis" and the "complimentary car detail" and brought it to a different shop where lo and behold! The injector camshaft was toast! My car is back on the road and running great after all this but I will never be going back to these ripoffs. read more

To top it off, he would not take my vehicle in for service as he recommended that it was not due yet! I thought this shop was taking care of me quite well until recently. Long story short: I was quoted as my car needing a new turbo (over $3500) and even maybe a new engine (over $14,000!!!) Obviously I couldn't afford that and wanted to weigh my options carefully. I had my car towed home and began to work on it with a trusted mechanic to find parts missing under my hood, major engine bolts left loose, among other things. Turns out I was able to fix my car for less than $1,000. After reviewing my records from Casey's I now see I've been over charged on almost everything. Between my husband and I, we spent over $24,000 with that shop in the last 3 years. Now I don't feel as though I was well taken care of at all, but just taken. #sadpanda This review was not up very long when I received a phone call from Casey himself. Wow. I was really impressed. Casey went out of his way to explain the situation in detail and really make things right. I was blown away by his professionalism and customer care. Well I looked at the Google rating for Casey's Independent auto repair and based on that information decided to try them out. To make a long story short, there was a bit of a problem with a heater component in my car after the repairs were completed and I got the car home. However with a quick phone call and a return visit, Jim (this Service Manager) listened to my needs, stood behind the work, and fixed my car without hesitation. I was back up an running within a few hours. For me, Casey's demonstrated a clear understanding of my needs and the importance of safety for my family by pointing out all of the recommended repairs for future visits. I would highly recommend Casey's for all of your automotive needs and I'll definitely use them in the future for all of my automobiles. Thanks Jim! read more

RIP OFF, AVOID AT ALL COSTS!! My window stopped working the other day and so I took it in the other day. For over $80 dollars (talked them down from $115) they told me I needed a new window regulator. They than proceeded to tell me that for over $530 dollars they could replace it!!! I did a little digging and found that the most you will pay for a manual window regulator for my car is $220 dollars and that is on the high-end. Another place told me that it would take about 1.6 hours for them to install it. $340 dollars divided by 2 hours equals $170 an hour for labor!! Their print out told me the part was over $340 dollars alone. I have recently found one for around $40 dollars (used but that works for me). I've learned my lesson(s), 1. Avoid Casey's Independent Auto Repair 2. When the price seems high for someone to do something to your car, look else where. These guys are pure evil. On average for someone to pull off the panel on your car door and find out what is wrong it should cost around $40 dollars. UPDATE: Got a used window regulator for $41 dollars and had it installed for $100 at Extreme Auto Repair. Window works great, go to Extreme Auto Repair instead. read more

Always do a good job fixing my car and truck. Listen to what I am telling them about what is wrong with my vehicle. The price is good. They always call and tell me what they found and how much it is going to cost. Tell me how much it is going to cost when they are done so there is no surprises. I have a trip coming up and I've had my engine light on for at least a month. So I figured I needed to just bite the bullet and get it checked out. I saw Casey's and since it's fairly close to my work I thought I'd give them a call. Zach answered my call and also answered all my questions. I am not smart when it comes to cars but he made it easy for me to understand. I was able to bring my car in and drop it off during my lunch. He called me and told me I needed a part but he was able to get it and fix my car that same day. It felt like my lucky day. He was able to order the part pick it up and fix my car all within a few hours. I was blown away by the customer service and the quickness of the work. They even test drove my car to make sure it was in tip top shape. The cost was fair and was less than I expected. I will be going here for all of my car needs. read more

Received an ad in the mail from Casey's Independent Auto Repair in Vancouver for an oil change. Made an appointment and what a total failure. Number 1 failure was they checked my cabin filter and put it back in sideways with a napkin in there. Complete incompetence. Air conditioner made LOUD noise. Took my Toyota Corolla to Toyota dealer and they fixed the problem telling me what was wrong. Number 2 failure is Casey's broke the oil filter cap and stripped it while trying to perform the oil change. They said they couldn't complete the oil change because of this but tried to say it was the former oil change that stripped it. WRONG! Toyota did the former oil change. Again TOTAL INCOMPETENCE! They put some oil back in and sent me on my way without completing the oil change. Toyota had to fix that too which was expensive! Number 3 failure is they said I needed brakes and I went to Toyota for that too. Toyota said they didn't tighten the lug nuts on driver side back brakes! Lucky the wheel didn't t fly off! DO NOT GO TO CASEY'S! INCOMPETENT! Tried to give them some business. What an expensive, wasted time and stressful mistake! Don't make the same mistake. After talking to several people in the community, others have had similar problems. Very disappointing and upsetting. read more

Took my car in for oil change and other maintenance as well as to get it detailed. Justin was great to work with in terms of the car repairs and maintenance. I have to say that the wow factor came when they pulled my car around after the detailing though! Holy cow! My car was shining like a new penny! And after a couple of years of toting dogs around, the dog hair and funky dog smell was gone. I feel like I have a new car. The interior looks amazing! Absolutely will plan to come back and get my car detailed here regularly. The nice guy that did the detailing commented that he puts his heart and soul into doing good work - and it shows.
