If you're looking to spend far more than you're planning and not get your truck fixed, this is the place for you. I brought my truck in to fix 2 things, 1. An exhaust smell in the cab and, 2. Excessive wander in the steering. After $5500.00, both items are not fixed it he truck has plenty of new parts.After bringing it in the second time, they gave me potential fix for the exhaust leak but of course, that's extra. Zach lies, period. I'm not the only one to say so but I wish I read all the reviews before taking my vehicle to these guys. Casey, the sales approach your guys use keep your business running and everyone paid, I get it, but everyone deserves the truth about you're business. When I had my car worked on they left it apart, I had not moved from where they gave me the car and had them come back out to the car they said it came in that way ??? The teck who worked on it would not tell the truth, they put it back together. (Note: They used my parts). I made the mistake of going back with another car, I told the service writer Zack what part they needed to order and he ordered the wrong one, after 4 hours of waiting and me going back and seeing which part they had, I told the teck to put it back together, they did and I left. Zack called me later to "solve" my issue by telling me they would have to make a part because no one makes this part anymore. I went to my local auto parts store and bought the parts for $8.00 each and called Zack and told him. He said that those parts are no good and they would not install a customers parts. (see note above). So I went to another shop to have them replaced. I will NEVER go to this shop again...the service writer and teck's have a problem with the truth. read more

Crappy Service! I went here to get a tie rod replaced only to find out 2 months later that they did it incorrectly and my alignment was off because of their faulty work. I made an appointment to get the alignment fixed with them but their soonest appointment was 3 days out and I have to be able to use this car to get to my 2 jobs. With that in mind I went to Les Schwab (sp?) and had them fix the alignment since part of my day opened up. They got me in right away and fixed the problem but noticed that the tie rod was loose. So they tightened it and because they tightened it Casey's will not replace my 2 front tires that are worn down to the wires even though it is their fault in the beginning. My tires should not be worn like that since I only got them put on 15,000 miles ago and they are 60,000 mile tires. Now thanks to Casey's I have to fork out another $300 for tires. I really do appreciate it... no I mean REALLY DO appreciate you not living up to your 100% customer satisfaction promise. You made my life a little easier by knowing where not to take my business. Do not go here. They never have lived up to the expectations of their customers. read more

The original thought was that it might need a transmission, but in the end it only needed a new sensor. July 6, 2015 we took our 2005 PT Cruiser to Casey's Independent Auto to find out why the air conditioner wasn't working and how much it would cost to repair. We didn't want to spend more than $500 on a 10-year-old car given that we only need a/c for a few weeks during the summer. Lesson learned: Make sure they check the a/c compressor before they start repairing. The first time they checked for leaks and recharged with R-134A Freon, cost: $239.41. The a/c worked for a day. The second time they found a leak and replaced valves in ports and recharged, cost: $157.05. The a/c worked for a day. The third time they found that we needed a new compressor for an additional $700. I called Aamco and asked how much they charged to check the a/c compressor and was told that there is no charge as this part of the free exam. He said it was a visual exam and that a worn compressor is obvious. I emailed this information to Casey's Independent Auto, wanting to know why they didn't check the compressor during that first exam. Casey never answered that question. Casey's response: "The difficulty and high expenses related to air-conditioning repair can often escalate quickly due to the high cost of parts, labor and specialty equipment. We take these steps to try and keep the costs down as much as possible, but we are aware there are competitors out there that simply quote and install all major air-conditioning components during a repair and not try to diagnose and repair only the failing parts needed." In other words, Casey's Independent Auto takes care of the less expensive repairs BEFORE they check out the compressor, which is the heart of the a/c system and the most expensive to repair. Casey's offer: "Please realize that the money you have spent to diagnose and repair your leaks did not go to waste, we did fix one leak and identified another.... All that being said I would like to extend our original offer to replace the leaking part needed, cover the cost of the refrigerant lost, and add an additional $50 discount to the repair." I wrote back: Here's how we see it. Whether intentional or not, you made a mistake. Your mechanics didn't check the compressor the first time we brought it in, so the two repairs you did are YOUR BAD. We should not have to pay anything. I never heard back. This was my first experience with Casey's Independent Auto. I took my Volvo to Casey's this week because the car said "regular maintenance due." Casey's spent an hour checking off items on their inspection checklist. They told me the spark plugs could wait until my next oil change. The only thing they charged me for was a light bulb. I have never had Casey's do my oil changes, but they will certainly do my next one along with the spark plugs. The waiting area was comfortable and the restroom was clean. read more

Reading through some of these reviews and I was really surprised at a lot of them, No Casey's is not going to be the cheapest place around or the most expensive but when it comes down to it you get what you pay for. I had my 2002 Excursion in here for an oil leak and come to find out I needed a lot of other repairs done. about $2600 worth and that was not including fixing my oil leak. The customer service was outstanding, Zach Fernandez was knowledgeable on everything, never tried to be pushy or sell me on everything I needed done but did give me a estimate for everything and help me figure out what I could wait on and what he recommended doing first. The tech Brian Hemery did an amazing job on my truck, High quality work. I'm not a big fan of repair shops because it seems like they sell you on things you do not need but Casey's is a different story I can tell you this first hand because after Casey's figured out all these things that where wrong I went and got a second opinion at another shop.(Just to cover my own ass) Nothing against Casey's but there are some money hungry companies out here that are willing to screw people over. Not only did this other place try to sell me everything that Casey's found but about $3000 more of random crap That I know was not wrong with my truck. I'm not a mechanic but I also am not a dumb women who don't know jack shit about my own truck. I will never take my truck anywhere but to Casey's Independent auto they are trust worthy, knowledgeable and have excellent customer service which is so rare now days. I recently brought my Honda pilot in for an oil change, a detail and to check the brakes. I found the entire staff to be very friendly and knowledgable. Zac did excellent in explaining what they were going to do with the vehicle. He communicated well after the inspection on what needed to be done and only did what was needed. (Did not need new pads or rotors. Just one pad and a caliper.) Very honest. The price was right and I was completely satisfied with the overall experience with them. I will go back. It's hard to know when an auto repair place is not overcharging you and fixing things that are "wrong" with the vehicle when maybe they are not. I know this won't happen at Casey's read more

Recently totaled my car after running through a broken boulder and had Casey's auto look at it. Took them about 3 hours from when I had initially towed the vehicle in to give me a diagnosis of a cracked transmission case with a quote of a little under 3k. My insurance appraiser confirmed all diagnosis and in the end did not charge me for the diagnosis and the 3 days I had the car stored there. Both Justin and Zac were extremely helpful and communicative through the entire ordeal and I would have loved for them to work on my car if not for my insurance deciding to completely total it. read more

So our mechanic, Justin, recently moved to Casey's Independent Auto Repair, and naturally we followed. Our Prius took some heavy damage to the underside due to the recent winter storm. Justin and the team were able to quickly diagnose the issues and repaired it as quickly and properly as possible. They also went out of their way to try and save us money with parts by actually repairing some parts versus just replacing everything that was malfunctioning. Fantastic service here! I was stranded with my 4Runner not shifting and managed to get it here.... They took it in and called me within 2 hours with a diagnosis and at no charge for that... I came to pick it up and they were hand washing it for me also at no charge. There were several things that needed to be serviced, they informed me on these and made sure I knew I would be ok to get to work if I didn't fix them immediately.... No one tried to sell me on anything and I appreciated that so much. I will be returning here in the near future :) read more

My daughter recently moved to Vancouver and her SUV was having major complications and from past experience I find it hard to trust mechanics and their quotes, but I highly recommend Casey's. My daughter spoke with a guy named John which made my daughter feel comfortable, he was really informative she was even able to communicate with me what the problems might be and explain the charges to have them fixed to make me feel good about taking her SUV there. I only give them one star because I can't give no stars. I had ok'd a certain amount of money for diagnostics to find out that "supposably something, that I had thought may have been wrong with my truck, was fine." I gave the OK for more Diagnostics to be done to figure out the problem with my truck. After the tests were done, I was told that it was what I thought it was, but I had been told that it wasn't that the first time. But it was the problem after $1000.00 of tests. The Technician need to pull their heads out of their Asses. The Service writer was nice, and I believe just telling me what the Tech's were telling him. I learned my lesson, I usually take my vehicle to the dealership. I was trying to save some money, based on a friends recommendation. I have found out that I would have saved allot more money by taking my vehicle to the Dealership. read more

Scam artist shop full of professional thieves.They will convince you your car needs repairs that it doesn't need and charge you for parts they don't put into your vehicle. When I first contacted them they told me I can have all my old parts back when the repairs are finished, they then came up with excuses to not give me my old parts back when I asked about it again. (Biggest sign of a dishonest auto shop) During the repair process they called me and forced extra repairs that I believe were fabricated to add more money onto the bill (they wouldn't get my car running without me agreeing to those other repairs) They tried to convince me that I wasn't allowed to tow my car to another shop even If I paid for the labor already done. I had to threaten to get police involved to get him to admit that they couldn't hold my vehicle. They will use every tactic talked about in car repair scam articles. DON'T GO HERE! There is also a complaint with the Better Business Bureau from someone who had a similarly horrible experience last year. read more

After showing up without an appointment on a Friday, needing a new water pump, I was pleasantly surprised to hear that they'd have my truck fixed, and back in my driveway, today! Zack and the crew are very helpful, and are great at keeping in touch. They let me know what to expect, as well as "no pressure" repair recommendations. Are they the cheapest? I doubt it. I recently went in for some work to due with a lot of leaks etc that Vancouver Toyota pointed out. I had their quote. Went to Casey's thinking okay the dealerships are always more expensive. Not so Casey's came in with the apprx same amount.. Paid for that and at the time of pickup I received a quote for control arm bushings front lower rearward for $1,584!! With the note that says front rearward control arm bushings are failed and need to be replaced requires alignment and replacement. Considering I wasn't having any issues with that I thought it was kind of off. I took it to four different places one of which was Les Schwab. get this all four places say they have NOT failed and this is the most expensive quote they've ever seen in their life for control arm bushing replacement! So then I asked these places what would you guys charge for this. Les Schwab came in at $445, the most expensive was $715. And remember all four places said these bushings have not failed yet you are okay. Never will go back to Casey's after this. Now I wondered all the work that I had done I am sure I wat over paid for that. And hopefully they did all that work and correctly. So disappointed with this place never will I go back or recommend this place. read more

Ok, so I have to rescind my comments from my previous review. The unnamed service writer in my previous post was/is Justin. He reached out to me so he could make things right and make sure that I was happy. He insisted that he pick up and deliver my vehicle to and from my home so as not to inconvenience me. My vehicle was taken back to the shop, the third problem was addressed and repaired. The original 2 problems that I brought the vehicle in for in the beginning, and ended up spending $10,000 to try and fix, are still there, BUT, they went thru the vehicle from end to end trying to diagnose the problem, and came to the conclusion that it could be 1 of 2 possibilities and that their shop does not have the specialized equipment that may be needed to diagnose the problem. All of this at NO CHARGE to me. So, in the end, Casey's Independent, went above and beyond, and did everything that they possibly could do, to make sure that I left a happy customer. read more

I was new to the area, and as I moved here, my car blew the rear end. They diagnosed the problem, and I have to say a year later, the repair has held up. Was the price fair? Sure. Was the customer service good? Sure. However, my problem is their willingness to fix ancillary problems. My exhaust was messed up in the process. It was an aftermarket Flowmaster bolt on system, and they DO NOT like to mess with aftermarket parts. (Hence the non negotiable prices) I returned the car complaining about an excessively annoying exhaust rattle. They kept if for the day and politely reminded me that I had a rear bearing seal leaking, and offered to fix that for a nominal fee. The exhaust? They just told me with an exhaust like that, you're going to have rattles. The only problem is that I installed it myself five years prior to this service...on jack stands...and have never had a single rattle. However a shop full of professionals and ASE certified mechanics couldn't figure out how to stop it is extremely disconcerting. I don't know if it's laziness, overbooking, or incompetence, but it still rattles against the bottom of the car to this day. I'm going to take it to a professional exhaust shop to have it remedied, but I would not use them again. They helped me out in a pinch, but honestly, if you have other options, I would go somewhere else. I feel there's something sketchy going on here. **UPDATE** I just took my car to Midas for an alignment. That's right, Midas! A chain in and out shop. I asked them to try to fix my exhaust as well while I was there. Within a couple of hours, they had the alignment done, and fixed my exhaust perfectly. My pipes running between the cat and the mufflers were laying directly on a non structural crossmember. They inserted a few washers to shim it away from the exhaust, and it is perfectly quiet. No contact at all, even when going over a bump. So my assessment of laziness or incompetence is probably spot on. I doubt they even looked at it, because that seems painfully obvious. I would stay away from this place if you at all can. read more

I have used Casey's multiple times in the past and never had any issues. A few years ago I switched mechanics (nothing against Casey's, my new mechanic just worked out better for me). The older of my two cars recently failed emissions, and I took it here as my current repair shop does not have an emissions certified mechanic. My only complaint was the time it took to do the diagnostic. I supposedly had an appointment for first thing in the morning (I called two days in advance). I had my car there the night before. I called at 10:30 (they open at 7) and was told they were just bringing my car in. I called again at 1:30. I was told I had to wait until 2:15 for someone to get back from lunch. At about 2:10 i finally got a call saying I could pick up the car in about 30 minutes. All they did was the diagnostics. They did no work on my car. In my opinion that took way too long. Other than that, they are a great shop. And they did provide very valuable feed back on my vehicle in a very straightforward and honest fashion. Very pleasant, professional, and I've never had any other issues with them. read more
